Christianity the biggest scam ever!!!
by William Penwell inreading a number of posts here it seems like a fair amount of posters are still into and pushing the christian philosophy.
i would like to start a discussion here that objectively examines the evidence and not base a belief on "blind faith".
after leaving the jdubs, i have read a number of books over the past few years.

Philosophically I will say that like Plato I believe Christianity is there to reflect us away from reality. (Referring to the allegory of the cave). Some one already said that life without it would be empty and meaningless. So if this is the case then isnt chritianity just something to deflect us away from the emptyness and meaningless, pointlessness of life?
However if that is true, then what is it deflecting us away from? Is it the pointlessness and emptyness of life that we try to fill with something relevant and valid to us? Or is it something else. Maybe its our struggle to come to terms with our own mortality and trying to find meaning in our own demise?
I mean isnt it better to think that death after a pointless life has meaning.
Does it not really scare us to think that once we are dead we cease to exist in entirety (sp?). I mean actually I think that all the discussion in the world will not answer the question "what happens when we die"? Isn't that what we all really want to know? Christianity poses one possibility, other faiths pose other possibilities. However isn't it better to focus on the kind of person we are whilst we have life and what we do to others and so on.
Now I think that that is what we are being deflected from. The ultimate fate of everyone of us........death the only subject that has no definitive answer until its too late...you cant tell anybody about it.
Orgasnised religion is a sham, a money making scheme and a way to control the masses. However the underpinnings of Chrisitianity of love, helping others, doing your best and so on I dont think are. If we harm none and lead a good life and leave a good legacy behind us then we have done the best that we can. That I believe is what the original intent of God's word was about. Man has changed its meaning and message and that is what is a shame and a shame!

You mean there is something worse that whats happened to me so far on this earth under this so called loving God??? No I dont believe I am dammed now I no longer believe. I have been dammed since my first breath. The only nice thing that ever happened to me was my nieces and nephews. They are the only joy in my life ever. I know this because we almost lost one last year and it really did seem life was over, but of course I couldnt know that a lot of other crap was in store for me and still is. If I allowed myself to have any feelings in the matter the only feeling i Have for this so called loving, unbiased God is hate. Absolute hate with no shades of gray whatsoever.

Come to Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Apparently I am the only ex dub here and I have not seen any other active JW's. Never had any knock on my door, never run into any or anything. So all the JW's have disappeared so it is Borg free! However it is the dryest state on the dryest continent on earth and it hasn't rained for months on end but at least we havent had any huge bushfires yet! We are on permanent water restrictions which means I had to cut my daily 5 hour shower to 4 hours and 45 minutes. THe shock of this still leaves me cold! Hehehehe seriously its a small city and you can be at the beach and 20 minutes later you are in the foothills. Or go 45 mins in the other direction and you are in our wine country enjoying the best drop in the world red or white! Its a great place to come and retire or try to live sort of!

As a person who gives advice for a living I would say that the problem here is communication. You dont really talk or listen to each other. Another problem is the same one that all suffer from, lack of sleep, satisfaction with your work and plain old tiredness.
Sit down and insist you talk to each other, no judgement, just listen to what the other is really saying. I think the necklace is just your wife expressing her disatisfaction with things. If she didnt want to wear something or doesnt like something then why buy the thing in the first place? Is it really her life she is talking about?
As a woman in a marriage for 18 years I will tell you that once my x and I stopped talking to each other and talked at each other things went down hill. However there were many other things involved too which I wont go into. Either get help that will actually help or start talking to each other but more importantly, listen to each other dont ignore or just presume you know what the other is going to say. It takes two to make a marriage work, neither one is more at fault because if both of you are only giving 50% then you are only half trying. You both have to give 100% and care enough about each other to listen.

Hey yx yes I do take it seriously what I laugh about is my utter hopelessness. I laugh instead of getting angry at myself for constantly failing. I seem to be getting worse and more mixed up. So instead of getting angry and giving up I laugh it off and try even harder. My Sensei and I are determined to see me suceed! The other class mmebers (all male) are trying to encourage me as well as they kind of know how intimidating it is for me to be the only female is a strongly oriented male sport!@ Although last night there was a little 6 year old girl. She was so cute!
I reckon a blackbelt in Origami might be on the cards for me!

My family are freaking out a bit at the moment. Uncle Mel seems to have flipped his lid a bit and we are all scratching our head trying to work out why he would make a picture like this. It doesn't seem in charatcer for him but it has been a few years since I saw him last.
