Do you think people take the bible too seriously?
by dustyb ini know the bible has a lot of important lessons in it, but such a controversial book that is likely changed and such is quite a bit to live your life by.
i mean, how do you know that daniel wasn't a constant opium user?
or how do you know that the bible is complete?

I agree with you dustyb. Especially when you look at how wide the interpretations are and what is done in the name of the book! I mean just look at the catholic church. I can't see any evidence of the qualities talked about in that book displayed by its leaders. What about the squillions it has and what is the percentage of world's riches it holds????????? I was raised a catholic so I do have an incling of what I am talking about. Like growing up I literally had one set of clothes because mum and dad had to give to the church and it took all their spare cash. I know I should be greatful to have had one set of clothes when many in the world have nothing. But my point is when did you ever hear a priest or a nun complain of only having one set of clothes? Or when did you last see a priest or nun not live in plentiful circumstances in the west or sacrificing what they had to share with anybody????? Now I am not even going to start with the Borg becasue that has been done to death! I wish there was an org that would have the guts to stand up and say "basically the bible is the world's most used and misinterpreted book. Basically it can mean whatever you want it to mean, depending upon the influence you want to influence over what type of people!" Of course then we have a tv evangelists who millions folllow and support. They are the smartest users of this book. Look at the squillions they make. Gosh it is a wonderful marketing tool if nothing else!

Starting again at any age is not easy (I was 38)! I not only left the truth I left my husband of 18 years, nearly 12 months ago and felt like not a sole in the world wanted to know me. Now I have heaps of friends, am never at home and having a ball. I found I had to stop being so self righteous and judgemental and just accept people as I found them and for who they are. I love people, every little quirk and whim, imperfections and all. I enjoy peoples company. If you open yourself to new possibilities you will make friends. Drop the usual JW reserve that all of us had and just be yourself.
I went to a couple of local singles clubs and recontacted older friends from former days. Apologised to those I felt I needed to and moved on. Moving on is the secret and not being stuck in the past. You have left so move on. Look forward not behind and go out and embrace the life you want. MAKE IT HAPPEN don't just stand back and expect it all to come to you, cause it won't!

From my sister's MIL:
wearing short skirts makes you thighs thick!
if you finger it you have to eat it - although you cant argue with that kind of logic!
Relating to Dubdom - anything I was ever told by them especially about living forever in a paradise earth. Just a thought would God ever admit he made a mistake in creating human's? after all everyone of us is supposedly one of his creations flawed or not!

God does exist...
by czarofmischief inearlier a thread emerged, as they do so often, on whether or not god existed.
i stated that he does, unequivocally and without doubt.
i refused to preface the statement with the phrase "i believe".

Hey Czar
Nice to see someone with such strong convictions and beliefs. I must admit to not reading all the post as my eyes are stinging from being on the computer all day at work. I read a lot of it and some of the replies.
Me personally I don't know and to be honest I really dont care whether God exists or not anymore. After all if God does exist according to his word I am dead anyway because I dare to enjoy all his creations that he gave me to enjoy and has then turned around and condemed me for it anyway. If he doesn't exist well then it doesnt matter and I am dead anyway. So my plan is to just enjoy my life as I know it, as it presents itself to me day by day and go with the flow.
Good luck to you and I hope your faith always stands the test of time!

Oh you wicked, wicked person! That would mean the person next to you wouldn't have a taste either! Isn't that glass suppossed to be tasted by all present????????????? Heheheh after all if we are all chosen then we should all partake??? Well something like that anyway. I know the elders in our cong would buy a good bottle of red for the event and then drink it all after.
One question though. WHy do Xdubs worry about going to the memorial. If you have left the lie why still partake in part of the lie????? I dont understand it? If you have left, then leave. I know the first poster in the thread (forgot the name sorry!) was telling about why they would not go and try to get the mum to see the troof behind the troof and wasn't going but I am not referring to that. Why do Xdubs still go?

From bitter expereince hun I can tell you that it is the Alzheimers and the medication bit that is happening. The Jekle Hyde syndrome is quite typical in certain stages, His Alzheimers is advancing and he cant control his temper. This phase will pass. I cant say about the unreasonableness. Most people manage to hide their bad temper but with certain types of ALzheimers the person quickly looses the ability to do this and the result is what you are living through now. You need to go to your doctor with him and talk through this as there may be medication that can help. This is the phase many couples go through where they split up. Its really just a lack of advice about this that splits people up. It can last for a long time or can be a short term thing. It is usually followed by the aggressive sexual phase where your hubby may sow his last wild oats and start acting inapporpriately. Hun get some advice from the Alzheimer's Association or your local carer's organisation. They will help you go through this so you come out the other side a whole person. ITs painful as hell and you feel you are going mad. Talk to p[eople who have gone through simialr things and you will find you are not alone and that there is some hope. He will also go through periods where he is his old self again before the "end" stage. This will take years and medication will prolong it and mildly manage it. Keep talking, feel free to PM me if you need to. I hear you and have been through so much it is incredible!

Dreams again,(WARNING TRIGGERS)calling LadyLee & Big T
by LyinEyes ini woke up crying again just a little while ago,,,,,,,,again it was a dream .
i just can't go into details of all the horror, but will touch on certain parts of the dream that i feel the most able to talk about .it was about my sister, mother, father, (his wife named satan,) and me.
basically , i can say there was child abuse of my sister .......at one point of the dream.

It sounds like you hit the nail on the head when you talked about feelings. IT is my understanding that in dreams you are working out feelings and can associate them with an event. According to what I have read it is the underlying feeling that you are wrestling with, not necessarily the content of the dream. So look at the feeling and ponder of why you are wrestling with it. What leads you to feel that way? Emotions are a very strong human trait and they are hard to deal with when we want to lock them away and not face them. THey have to come out somehow. Yours seem like they are coming to the surface in a strong way and you dont want to handle them but if you dont your dreams will get worse.

No wonder the Borg is in the state it is in. It sposts like this that make you realise more and more that I did the right thing and left this Borg. Thanks mate for sharing this brilliant information. Every person studying should read it before they jump headlong to the long spiral downwards that is dubdom!
