Let me tell you a little about myself. I have dated more women than I care to count. I'm not trying to brag. I think it's sad and somewhat dysfunctional. I have also learned to appreciate women as friends as well as intimate partners. I hope that I have learned to communicate with them in my awkward way. What you take to be a "hit" can also be merely admiration, praise, or friendship.
Yes, the quote you referenced is a much better way to attract a womans attention than refering to various parts of her anatomy, in my opinion. If you have intentions other than friendship, it should be followed by many more attempts at communication. At some point, the object of your intentions would ideally indicate that they are interested in you as well. Eventually this would culminate in a "hit". I tend to make my "hits" very obvious. Right between the eyes is my style, but only after a lot of softening up.

I know that some males have difficulty grasping this concept but I think you could benefit from looking up the word "Platonic". Then I suggest you meditate on the meaning of "Platonic relationship".

I've seen a ton of concerts too. Some of the best entertainers I've ever seen have been; David Bowie, Steve Winwood, and James Taylor. I really didn't want to see Taylor cause I thought he'd be boring. My girlfriend insisted I go, and I'm glad she did.

In the last cong. I was associated with, the 18 year old daughter of an elder "ran away" with and then married an outsider. Of course the cong. was shocked, but I don't think she was treated any differently. Her husband wasn't opposed to her attending meetings and even attended a couple himself, but he really had no interest in becoming a dub himself. He was treated ok, too, as I recollect whenever he showed up.

we all know for a fact that to the wts lies are ok, and spying does happen.
does anyone know of officially appointed wts spies, or do hard-core militant and/or plain old sneaky jw's just feel it is their duty?

Occasionally I'll go over to H2O and check out what's being discussed. This subject has come up a few times there. The participants in the discussion ranged from rabid anti-dubs to "open minded" elders. The consensus seemed to be that WTBTS has no interest in spying, but they probably do monitor anti dub sites and dub related db's such as this. They are also trying to locate the moles in their organization who are supplying proprietary info to outsiders. Neither of those two activities would require much in the way of resources. They kinda make sense, too.

Read the books, saw the movie, played the PC game, and am now reading the histories of the major houses as intepreted by F. Herberts son (derived from F. H.'s copious notes). I'm with Simon, the books kinda got a little wierd towards the end and I need to reread them. -
