I heard them call each other friends, they were not friends to me. Oh" I may have had a few friends, but only to have them shun me at the request of the elders; yeah they suck alright. I know there may be a few others that say they are not a cult, well if there is some other nasty word that would desribe them I would use it. They draw people in to their web like a spider and wrap up their life so they can't move; so I guess I should call them: " Spider People".

Didn't It Irritate You That "The Friends" Had To Know All Of Your Business?
by minimus injehovah's witnesses are a nosy bunch.
they watch to see if anyone might be offending another person's conscience.
they listen for any negative comments that could bring "reproach on jehovah's name".

If you would not do this they then one would fail to see the point of all this, namely to use what ever means to apeal to peoples good sense and begin to draw familys together again. Familys are so darn important once they are gone that is it.

Only by seeing the monster for what it is can you finely go to sleep in your bed, to see that it is only a shadow on the teddy bear. But when your a child at heart its much harder.

"Brainwashing" does not exist
by logansrun inthe term "brainwashing" is sometimes thrown around this forum and i thought i'd briefly comment on it.
the idea that a group or person can actually make you think, act and feel in a certain way is highly dubious.
i'm not saying it's impossible, but i highly doubt that any ex-jws have ever experienced "brainwashing.

Logan, did you reach the point where you were Ready to Obey"? Like Waco TX or Jones town and all the rest, I am sure there a lot of pin heads in the org who follow them down a toilet if it were possible.

What happens when the faithful and discreet slave die off?
by JustTickledPink ini am a bit fuzzy, but i always remembered that the "faithful and discreet slave" were the annointed members of the governing body and that they were led by jehovah god.... of course according to the wts.. now, as they get older and other wts corporations have been formed and the president of the wts himself isn't of the "annointed" then what happens when the "annointed" governing body members who represent the "faithful and discreet slave" die off?.
where is the intermediatary between the regular jw's and jehovah?
what will happen to the light that kept getting brighter?

Disfellowshipped vs. Disassociated vs. Inactive Relatives
by carefully faded inhi everyone.. i'm hoping someone can clarify a couple of points for me regarding how jw's are instructed to treat relatives who have left the organization.
i understand that people who disassociate themselves are treated primarily the same way as disfellowshipped ones.
however, what is the latest instruction for how to treat inactive relatives - not the same as ones who have purposely disassociated themselves, right?.

Yes brothers and sisters I seek to call you all to your senses "Stop Touching the unclean thing," return to the sorse of pure water and truth that you find here at the meetings, there you will find refreshment for your souls. So long as you are ready to obey and be asorbed into the body everything will be hunkie dorey, Landru see's all, Landru has spoken.

Well basicly how I see it is the disassociated ones enjoy being away by and large, and the disfellowshiped ones feel like Joan of Ark and are willing and want to crawl back on their knees till they are bloodied. ( Been there done that, but not again.)
Crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal,
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real.Shane
