OK, So I'm thinking about becoming a witness.

i was talking with someone i work with who is a jw and suggested i might look into it.

Well here we go:
As a Catholic you were not really much controled, but once you become a Witness's trust me they will become the KGB and give you hell if you step out of line and they will scare you with Armagedon to keep you in line; and you better keep some friends on the outside cause there may come a time when they may kick your hiney out of the trooth then you won't have no body.

congregational cliques
by chuckyy init was my experience during my 13 yrs as a jw that congregations usually had a social clique.
in other words, there would be a group of people in a congregation that would only associate (and sometimes only go out on field service too) with people within that social clique.
if you were in the clique, fine.

Yeah me too it was a downer to not be invited to go with the elder who took most of the other teenagers on fishing trips in his cab over camper, they all would drink lots of beer and throw fire crackers and get real drunk.
I miss that old basturd, he was fun, he let me go with all of them once we had a bloody good time.

An end to my Dad thumping me on the head for not wanting to be there early at 10:00AM on a Sunday morning for watch tower study and public talk, it really bothered me after I had my my friends say come on Shane lets go play army or baseball.

Because like most Jehovah's Witness's they are agents of a large magazine and book publishing corporation, and if they do not spy and speak up for the company and maintain the corporate image they will be fired and then be shunned by other workers and department heads, until they can grabble also beg and crawl back to their jobs; which incidentally may be denied. Help From Computer Gurus Please!
by heart2heart ini have a program that has the kjv of the bible, and it allows me to install other bibles to compare translations.
i want to install the nwt from the watchtower cd and i can't figure out the "path" for the directory, to tell this program where to find it.
also, does anyone else know of other "online bibles" that i could download?.

You have to instruct your computer to down load the program as soon as it reads it that is if it does not have the comands already on the disk to do so.
Now some programs will not let you down load the contents to the hard drive, mostly old ones, prier to 1994 or so.
