I did once, it was in Ogden, Utah events center. It was after the afternoon talk and me and my ex-wife was walking to our car, and nice fellow asked if I would like to look at a tract, I said yes thank you. At that very moment this other fellow Jehovah's Witness came over and rudely jerked it our of my hand, and told me did you not hear the brother from bethel, to not accept tracts from them and to just look straight ahead. Needless to say this embarrassed me a great deal, cause there was many other witness's walking with me as well as my daughters seen me being disrespected, so I slugged that so and so, right smack on his nose and it knocked him to the ground, and I reminded him that I live in the good old U S of A, and I will read what I want! It was then I realized that basically the witness's are a cult. I will not be absorbed by Landru, again ...

What is your biggest problem with the JW religion?
by jambon1 inif i had to be tied down i would say disfellowshipping.
totally unnecessary and i really think it spans itself into a lot of other wt policies/mindsets.
"disagree with us and you are a dead man"

All of it in a nut shell could be repaired if they the (still existing Bible Students,") way back when, would have told Rutherford to go pound sand.
With the Bible Students there is not all these issues like mind control, holidays I like Christmas its a time for familys and concering Christ act of giving to me the Bible Students don't shun you for observing it, also the blood issue and all the people who have died because of it, neutrality issue as far as where to work concerning the draft, your kids in school and playing basket ball or other sports leave it to the parents and don't shun them for their choices. What can you exspect from a cult.

It would have been nice if they would have pointed out how the witness's have said its ok to have blood fractions, (parts of blood) and maybe they could have even showed how many people have died since the time they instituted this ban. Also, that the still existing "Bible Students" who are not Jehovah's Witness's are still active by the way, do not tell their member they can not take blood or do holidays, but rather let them exercise their own conscious in these matters, that is the way it should have stayed, but no the Pharaohs of the hierarchy of Jehovah's Witness's feel the great need to lord it over their members, truly Christ will make an accounting for all the stumbled ones and those who have suffered so greatly.

Pulmonary embolism
by Insomniac ini just found out through the grapevine that my brother had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot went into his lung and almost killed him) a couple of weeks ago.
he's ok now, and the doc has him on blood thinners, which he'll need for the rest of his life, to keep it from happening again.
it's pretty amazing that he survived, as these things are usually only diagnosed during autopsies, it's not too often people survive them.

Factor 5 people are cloters, Factor 8 people are bleeders (basicly.) Better get out of your car at every rest stop if your going on a trip, and walk around and jump up and down for a few min, or it might be your last trip.

Most people have not even investigated the information concerning the use of the pyramid in conjunction with Russell's writings, and its almost divine dimensions . I remember the first time I heard of the pyramid being used way back in the day, I was bothered and really disillusioned, but now that I have researched why the Bible Students still use and consider the pyramid valuable I really see how much damage Rutherford did to the Bible Student movement with all his controlling doctrines and changes. Learning about what I feel is the truth concerning death and the resurrection, that the Bible Students explain in detail helped me tremendously when my daughter died, I thank Jehovah for guiding me to them since her death. http://www.chicagobible.org/

Did you make a new religion for yourself?
by White Dove ini'm associating with a church that i like very much, however, i find some things hard to digest, like jesus resurrecting himself.
i think the father did that, not him.
anyway, i am thinking that i can just keep associating for social reasons and some religious ones while reading the bible and having my own beliefs based on how i understand the bible and not blindly believe doctrine just because a big church teaches it.

Hi, I am becoming more and more involved with the original belief system that my mom had, namely the International Bible Students". I know you may say yuck they are just the same old thing, but be it far from it, the Witness's ruled over your conscious over so many day to day things to such an extent they nullified the word of god. Worshipping Jehovah is so much a part of me now; where as before it felt like I could not really make it my own, I had to make it part of a corporation. What do you have to lose check it out: http://www.chicagobible.org/

How Do You Now Console Someone Who Has Lost Someone In Death?
by minimus inmy dear friend's 34 year old son recently was found dead by a girlfriend after calling him repeatedly and never getting a call back.
meanwhile my friend was on his way back from florida when he got the awful news.
he asked me for some encouraging scriptures to share with him for some consolation.

I lost my dear daughter October 8th of 2005, from the affects of Methadone as it was prescribed by a doctor for pain, watch out with this drug.
Anyway, at that time the deep tearing at my heart and the empty feeling in my chest that comes with losing someone you love so much is just awful. I believe Jehovah directed me to the International Bible Students at that time, because they showed such compassion to me though I was raised a Jehovah's Witness's, I had Bible Students sending me emails and cards and letters of encouragement from all over the United States.
To sum it up, the Bible Students always proclaim, unlike the Witness's that "ALL" those who have died will live again soon, even Adam and Eve. This is not what I was used to hearing, for the Witness's seem to feel other wise, and venture the idea that Christ's death dose not cover this group or that person or persons. When I heard their message that "everyone who has ever lived WILL live again" it caused a flood of tears down my face, because my daughter was disfellowshipped at the time of her death and the Witness's took it upon themselves to hold a judging position, of nullifying Christ's redemptive powers of his death. The true hope for the dead is much more beautiful now. http://www.divineplan.org/

There is an article put out by the "Chicago Bible Students" web site, entitled Food For Thinking Jehovah's Witness's". This article is so darn good, it does not bash them, it opened my eyes like a big tall Star Bucks in the morning. I like the Bible Students, they reason well. Hootie Hoo,

What exactly does it mean to be "marked", anyway?
by Amber Rose inwhat are the concequences of being marked?
what qualifies a person to be marked?
who determines whom shall be marked?
-

Well Amber, I will try my best to make some sense out of this:
Being Marked means that you are not very good person to associate with in the congregation (most of the time it means you have stumbled someone with what you said or done.) Many times your friends in the hall that you have had for a long time will drift away from you, and so you ask them what's the problem, and they may say well me and so and so, have marked you because of blah blah blah and no longer want to spend as much time with you because you discourage us, blah blah blah.
