Disfellowshiped Last Night - Elder Question
by johnnyc ini know some of you know me by my posts...as someone very much on the "fence".
recently, i had made an effort to start coming back to meetings after being inactive for 2+ years.
during that time, i did have a prescription drug problem following an injury.

Oh wow, once I found they want you (us) to crawl back begging with a letter stating how much reproche you (we) have heaped on the WTS by our being sinners it was then that I found that I did not need their bourgeois bullshit taking part in their conformity and slaving for Landrew.

I support the idea of never going to an elders meeting again and letting those SOB's mess with my mind again with their stupid by-laws.

What was your saddest day as a JW?
by jambon1 ini had many days like this but i will never forget the time that a 'prominent elder' publicaly declared that he wants to see the worldly people die at armaggeddon.
"i hope that i can look out the window & watch it all happening".
i went home and thought; 'wtf am i a part of here'?

The day I was setting there in the Hall after my being DF'ed and my cute little daughter who only ten yeas old came and sat next to me, and a few min latter an elder came between me and her and said to her you can't" set by your father he is DF'ed go back and set with your mom, needless to say I stood up during the meeting and knocked this guy on his ass. I knew my ex-wife would keep going to the meetings with my daughter so I decided then to not go anymore and there-by avoid my daughter having to be subjected to that bullshit.

What prompts one to become a Jehovah's Witness?
by Quirky1 ini know there are many here that were born into the religion and there are those who have family that were or are involved and that usually sparks an interest.. what about those who become interested by their campaining?

by justhuman ini just don't know what to do...it seems that i have been carrying this burden since i was born.
and the burden is to be raised and live for 33 years in the most mind destructive cult the watchtower.

Um, it sounds like to me your wife was like my ex-wife in that so called truth both mine and yours are useing the WT dogma to minipulate you with, I have been there after a while I told my wife to shut her cake hole, I am telling you a naggy wife with a Watchtower in her hand will drive you to drink, they think they have more power or something. Your going to have get some bigger ranch eggs and tell hher to get back honky cat.

Santa & Kids - To Lie or Not To Lie?
by sweet pea inthis will be our second christmas since leaving the wts but we will be away in nz with besty's extended family so probably won't bother much with trees and decorations but the santa issue is playing on my mind, especially now podlet no.
1 is at preschool.. do we bring the children up to believe in santa & co with all the magic, mystery and excitement associated with the fairytale or do we tell him right away what the deal is - either route is going to feel very strange.
my gut feeling is to go along with the myth and give them those happy memories of wonder and anticipation - what do you all think?.

Oh for hell sakes, it's not a matter of beliving that Santa real, it is for the kids, and it is a matter of making a good memories for them when they are little kids, do you really think your kids will fault you latter in life for doing the Santa thing with them and having fun with them, a I don't think so. So Marry Christmas and have a happy new year, and enjoy your children while you have them when their young and while they are babies this time only comes around once.

Shunning? It led me down the road to chasing whores and heavey drinking & gambling and I begain smoking Camel filters, and to taking medication for depression, (not to mention I did not feel life was worth living anymore) I was told that I was on the same level as the demons and if the end came I would die unless I was reinstated. So, me and my family doctor decided it would be a good idea to tell the elders to shove it where the "Sun Don't Shine". Oh and by the way I can now grow my beard as long as I want now with out feeling god is going to kill me at amagedon for being less of christian for it and there-by becoming more emotionaly depressed.
