Racism - American Idol?

earlier this season there were some reports and accusations of racism in the voting for the american idol.. but now with the last two seasons being capped off with a black and white finalist and the black singer winning both times should this put to rest the accusations?

American Idol final: Diana or Fantasia
by Mulan ini thought both girls sang amazingly last night.
both had one song that wasn't so great, so the contest was a draw for me.
since simon so obviously favors fantasia i voted 3 times for diana.

Wow...what was up with Simon tonight? I could only guess. I hate showbusiness/politics too.
The better singers were already voted off by the 'Mercan public...
I prefer my vocalists to sing in tune no matter what style of music they sing.
There's dead zones on every stage and if you don't have the experience and ear to recoup when you lose it, you need more experience singing live, all there is to it.
I f Diana was a formally trained singer, she would be listening for her voice to bounce back from the room instead of relying on earphones. Fanatasia being three years older probably has that much more experience.
I suppose Fantasia does have a quite the whine [she was screaming tonight!] but, I know it's her. And like any other distinguishable trademarks, I suppose that's all that really counts. It sure got you guys talking about her whine [you know, bad press is still good press].
Diana will develop a style that actually stands out from the crowd. I'd love to hear her when she's 18. We'll probably hear more from her a lot sooner. Same holds true for most of the better singers on that show...

Which men / lads here cry when listening to music / watching films?
by Celtic inyou know how some of us guys have to put on a bit of an act sometimes, we have to set our faces into our coping scowl, but underneath, we're too well aware of just how soft we are?
well.. what music to the big guys here only, not you wimpy bunch, brings a tear to your eye or which films is it that you need to keep a box of tissues handy by you to wipe away the dampness in your eye?.

Did you guys know that men who cry will have less health problems? I can't find the specific article but it did take a jab at the so-called macho men who didn't let go of tears as being more likely to have heart trouble, etc.
Okay i admit it: Gespro is a crier from way back.
Most any heartfelt music would get me going...any non-orchestral Debussy, Hendrix' 'One Rainy Wish' [balled my eyes out as a kid on that one], Blackbird [because I thought McCartney was dead. I should sue the bastard for childhood trauma! LOL] Wayne Shorter tunes like Infant Eyes, Face on the Barroom Floor, Bill Evans' tunes, My 2nd cousin Mahalia Jackson.
A lot have the movies mentioned could get to me but the only one I recall out 'n out cried was the ending of the Sidney Poitier(sp?) movie A Patch of Blue...
Okay, crying now.......thanx alot!

Looking back, I recall I've let some 'good women' go because I couldn't 'accept' them and maybe I couldn't accept my myself. When I realized what a fool I had been, what I was looking for appeared almost immediately! So, I married her. Now, after 20 years, I often feel like I don't deserve her BUT that's another story...

Hey Farkel, good summary. However FW had 1975 brewing alot earlier than 1969. More likely the late 50's ,early 60's.I've got a copy of a vintage audio tape Randall turned me on to. It's a talk at a convention that more than hints to 1975 being a significate year, possibly armageddon. And don't forget the 1966 article [transcribed from FW's talk, or was Knorr in Australia] that I'll try to find online and link to...

In the next 5 to 10 years you're going to see alot more of the medical population talk about and utilize PTSD and childhood trauma as being the root of many a disorder including sociopathology.
