i have been reading many threads on disfellowsipping, and it makes me wonder if there were many who were disassociated, or thrown out of the org.
for reasons other than what the watchtower officially teaches?
Yes! The elders did me a favor by expelling me, the light bulbs went on, as Jesus said, you will recognize them by their fruits. Well, they didn't display any of the fruits of the spirit! My letter writing to the org. were totally ignored, no need to say anymore.

i was speaking to a lady today who isnt a witness.
she's a very intellegent, well educated and well travelled girl, and she tells me how much she enjoys reading the watchtower and awake.
i said to her that she has to be joking, and she tells me that she she likes them a lot.
If an article interests me, YES! Some years ago, they had the entire magaizine devoted to North American Indians.

from this week's time magazine article about "superdads":asked by spike tv to choose how they measure success, only 3% of men said through their work, while 31% said they did so through their faith in god, 26% through being the best person possible, 22% through their network of family and friends, and 17% through maintaining a balance between home and work.
my question, why do people measure success through a belief (faith in god) rather than how they actually do in life (being the best person possible)?.
i don't mean to demean faith in god, but is it truly the best measure of success?

well i've spent a couple hours today getting my cameras ready.
which means cleaning them like a dentist with solutions, swabs, picks, fiberglass brushes, prayer *lol*, etc..they are going to be entered into the collectors competition at the state fair of texas in october.
i have three cameras, the max entry, all going back before the 1930's.

last night in bed listening to the terrible electric storm that raged outside i was thinking of a local football player who had been struck by lightning while jogging on the school track.
i then had what they call an epiphany.. it became clear to me that, perhaps, paul had been struck by lightning on the road to damascus and partially blinded and perhaps sustained a permanent infirmity.. further, being struck by lightning would be taken as a sign from god that he needed to reassess his course in life.
he was a thug doing enforcement for the high priest against the upstart christian sect.
Why not ask golfers who have been struck by lightning think and feel?
The now senior professional Lee Trevino was once struck by lightning and it made an impact on him.
