sitting here in a nice airconditioned place, I can't really say I know what you are feeling at the moment, but it gets awfully hot here in texas and I've been through it when the ac is out for a few days at a time and I had a car without ac a few years back, that sucked. My advice is spend as much time as possible at shopping malls, libraries or movie theaters, if they have air, maybe they don't there I don't know.
When you are at home, have at least a fan. Get a spray bottle with cold water and spray your legs and arms down every time you get uncomfortable. also, get ice packs for your wrists and ankles. I read something about cooling your wrists and ankles makes you feel comfortable right away, and I've tried it - it works! and take many cold showers! how could I forget those?
good luck!

I know so many guys who think that way, too. Funny, I don't think they have any success with American girls, so they figure they should go for the mexican girls. How many beautiful mexican girls could they go after in America, yet they would prefer a girl from Mexico instead? Why would they do that? I think they just want a beautiful and very submissive type of wife. Mail order or something like it.

My Story..... Need advice on reinstatement Letter.
by jrjr4189 ini've been a member of the site for a month, but have been reading the posts for a lot longer, however this is my first post.
i was raised a j-dub by my mother (my father wasn't religious) with my sister and brother.
i was pretty much convinced by my dub friends, bible study conductor, and mother that i should get baptized when i was 15 and decided to go for it.

I can't imagine it would be easy to get reinstated, although I'm sure different people can have different experiences with it. It seems to me that more is required than a well-written letter, ie perfect meeting attendance for a long time before they let you back into "the fold". They could want you to say many "heartfelt" things that could be difficult if you don't really believe anymore.
I can't say what you should do, because I can truly understand what it's like to make that decision - I have decided NOT to be disfellowshipped or DA if I can help it for the sake of my family. I am all the time trying to deal with not being "true to myself" and it can wear you down if you are not careful. Part of me wants to stand up and yell "they are a cult, don't you see it?" and the other part of me knows doing that wouldn't have any affect on them, except for cutting me off. The way they have set it up is to silence anyone who disagrees with them. I figure, if my family can't see that, it's their problem, and I have no responsibility to tell them what they probably already know on some level, but prefer to be in denial about. At least that's what I tell myself right now.
It sounds like to me, you have decided you love them, regardless of who they are and what they do. I think that's a good thing. I love my screwed up family too, even though they don't love me the same way. And because of the way they are, they are forcing me to stay silent, but I can change that at any time and will eventually say what I want to. I'm just waiting until something else happens first and then I will feel like I don't have as much to lose in the process.
It's a hard decision to make. It's like picking your poison.
Good luck to you and I hope it works out for you and you can have your family and deal with their beliefs while having control of your own mind at the same time.

Ah, you skipped and thought you could get away with it? Well, the angels must be whispering about you into their little ears, mustn't they!
I skipped too. They knew about it because I didn't go and I told them not to worry, I would go to the next one, there is a series of them in town one weekend after the next. I still haven't gone and don't plan to.

How to Revoke WTS' Tax-Exempt Status?
by doinmypart inthe irs (u.s. government agency responsible for collecting taxes & enforcing tax laws) can remove an organization's tax-exempt status if the organization has doctrine contrary to public policy, or it carries on propaganda.. as much as the wts prints on blood, not voting, shunning, etc.
which of these items can be submitted to the irs?
how does one submit a complaint to the irs?

I don't know, is it "contrary to public policy" to deny its members their voting rights, the ability to serve in the military and access to secondary education? Not to mention propaganda, which they all do. This law was written for the purpose of revoking tax exempt status on religions they don't like for whatever reason and letting the rest of them do what they want to do. Who knows how much the WTS pays off government officials or lobbyists to allow them to keep doing what they do? I'm jaded enough to think they are involved in that, too.

Well, I think my apartment is haunted.

i have never had a dwelling place with so many unexplained noise and goings on.
lights that have been turned off, magically turn back on and visa versa.

I used to have these feelings someone was in bed with me, the bed moved or it felt like something sat down on the bed. Of course, I had also barely fallen asleep, which is the prime time for these sorts of thoughts to seem real, which they are not.
The reason I have trouble believing about all the ghost or spirit stuff is the spirit doesn't seem to come out for a scientific experiment. Instead, we hear these stories and anecdotes, and that's the only information we have, which I cannot accept as true evidence of anything.

holy crap, LT 10,000 posts? !!!
yeah, I pretty much feel the way you do about the good bye thing. I always thought it was more of an attention seeking sort of thing.
I posted a thank you thread after I was here a year and somebody thought it was a goodbye thread, which it wasn't intended to be. I thought that was kind of funny.
I sometimes get too busy or tired of a board for a while, but if I start getting pretty involved, I generally always go back to it eventually. If I never really sink my teeth into a board, I typically don't even go back to check it out later.

have never and will never stop beliving that Jehovah Is are God and that Jesus will save us from this hurtfull world even though I haven't been to the hall in a long time does not mean I will deny or ignore The Truth it's there for those few that are not blind to see we are lucky to know these things a lot of people in this world live there lives in the dark and lost we are not in the dark we know where the light is and shines! I hope we all can find are way back one day before it's to late! I love you JEHOVAH!!!
This attitude is probably pretty common among some who have left for various reasons, not including what they have found out about the cult, but because of other reasons, leading to feelings of self-loathing and guilt. The natural thing for someone with these feelings to do, of course, is identify people who they believe are worse than themselves.
Naturally, I figure this post isn't for real.
