Ignorance is irritating, yes. But it's all around us every day, so we would be stupid to get too upset by it. It's something that will never change. Knowledge IS power. I know the true meaning of that now. I feel more pity than anger for religious believers.

Does Devil Talk Irritate You?
by love2Bworldly ini enjoy reading the bible on my own since i left the jw's.
i get extremely irritated when other people talk to me about how satan is causing certain things in my life--example is if i'm not getting along with a coworker or anything like that.
(my husband also blames satan).

Boy! Do women love to talk!
by Maverick in"we need to talk"!
men hate to hear those four words coming off of their gf's pouty lips.
we know what they are really saying is, that they need to chew our butts and we need to take it!

I just remember thinking it was a terrorist attack even before the 2nd plane hit. I knew it would be horrible, but I never even started to think about Armageddon. I was still believing in everything the JWs teach, I just didn't really believe anymore that I would be around for Armageddon.
It seemed like the Witnesses loved it. It was a wake up call for all the weaker ones, and lots of people went to the meetings that week. Yeah, just that week. A couple years later, I found out everything about them, and I'm happy to not have to wonder about the Big A anymore.

M.J., that's very interesting. It may explain why some people are so incredibly up themselves about all of it. Lots of false assumptions, lots of things ignored. Even though they feel like they did their research, they were actually very sloppy and lazy about it. All their research was done for them, all they had to do was trust it was ok.
I think gullible or seekers of truth isn't enough categories. I think you should add "chronic worrier" to that list. If a person is worried what they are telling him SOUNDS right, then he feels he has no choice but to join, he can't risk not joining.

Get over it. The elders don't want to "shepherd" you.
by ithinkisee inwhenever elders hear the complaint from someone that "they never get shepherded or visited by the brothers" do you know what they do when you walk away?.
they look at each other and roll their eyes.
they make comments along the lines of "great.

The only time they want to turn their attention on anyone is when there is blame to be distributed. Ministerial Servants bear the brunt of it, and all those horrible people who don't like to go to meetings or service. You know who you are.
They wouldn't even bother with any of that if they weren't getting the crap kicked out of them every time the CO comes around.

All I can say is.... if she still needs to learn how to love herself ....
I thought she was seeing that film producer guy? I don't know his name. Does she really come out and say she is a Witness, or does she just hint around it? I don't know, but I definitely think she, and her family, are a bunch of whack jobs.

I always thought it was a bunch of hooey. I mean really now!!! So, if I have a demonic experience as a Jo Ho, wouldn't that make me run like mad to the KH and NEVER EVER slip up again. It would make me want to be the best Dub there was since it would prove Satan's existence no?
Exactly. And that's the point of teaching that they do exist.
I think it's hilarious to hear about people's firsthand or secondhand accounts of demons or ghosts and stuff. It is a bunch of hooey and it can all be explained. But if you want to believe it, it's easy enough, I suppose.
