what's you're question exactly? is it why do people who are questioning the org or getting ready to leave not divulge the sources of their questions or where they found something out? or are you asking why is it that all apostates believe something written about the org and that's why they left the org? if it's the latter, I don't feel the need to defend why I left to you or list all the reasons it wasn't about 1975.

Why do apostates lie about where they get their information?
by slimboyfat init does no good.
i don't understant it - who do they think they're foolin'?.
i have just been listening to the judicual committee that disfellowshipped rick and laverne townsend and it is cringeworthy, to say the least, to listen to them cover-up, distort and outright lie about the sources of their information and the real background to their dissent.

she's leaving threatening mail in your mailbox, which I believe still has restrictions by the US Postal Service as to access. (read about 18 U.S.C. 1725). I would post a sign on my mail box that says Federal Law 18 USC 1725 restricts access to this mailbox to US Postal Service only.
There are also laws about mailing threatening letters. Here's a few links I found, I don't know how much help that would be.

Really, you'd probably have better luck dealing with her as you would a stalker. Get a restraining order.

Why can't I just SHUT UP?
by evetteto ineach jw mtg my husb has to attend is a burden for me cuz he always says i start an argument.
i know its the demand that the wts has on its followers that they cant seem to deal with.
he'll ask me a question and i will give him my undoctrinated answer and he goes off, then announces i'm starting an argument b4 he leaves for a mtg.

it's hard to at first, but eventually, you'll understand some people just need to figure this stuff out for themselves. when I shut up, my family talks to me about all the stuff they hate. I just let them talk. don't say anything anymore. I sort of gave up hoping they would ever see it. there are no arguments lately. I just stay out of it, if they bring it up, I just zone out. They don't want an argument, and they don't wanna know what I really think! sometimes, they just need someone to hear them complain about stuff and I can do that. But I don't let them draw me into it so they can get angry at me anymore.
They are going to have to figure this out themselves because I've tried to lead them all to the water before but these horses won't drink.

What can you do when being the boss means working harder just to supervise?
by The Dragon inwhy would someone want a position such as this?
i mean at some point the boss must work harder than the slaves to supervise them...then becomes a slave himself.. .
what is the incentive to work and learn ones way to the top..if it means more work, responsibility, and headaches?.

delegate delegate delegate. then follow-up, follow-up, follow-up. the higher up you go, the less hard you should be working.
the role of manager is to make sure your employees are clear about what they should be doing, and to make sure they have the tools they need to do their jobs.
that's why they pay you the big bucks!

Your answer to a JW's question "What is an alternative?"
by ukescott ina jw that i engaged in a series of debate finally posed this question.
i can see that he is running out of his "canned" answers and he wants to defend his organization desperately or he doesn't want to admit that he is dead wrong.
so he uses this faulty logic to depend his belief system.

I would say, nothing is easy. No easy answers to all questions. You have to start from the beginning, like a child, and start working on figuring out answers to your questions. Not easy answers, nothing comes too fast. Not everyone takes the same path, but you have to do the work and figure out what your path is going to be. I'd say that's a great alternative!

I got the phone call. WARNING, DEPRESSING!
by Schism inwell,my dad called last night, crying.
he says armageddon's about to start and he doesn't want to lose me.
he said i either need to become a good jw and go to the meetings, or he will have to distance himself from me so that he won't be so attached to me when the big a hits.

I really think the holidays are a hard time for the witnesses. They know something is wrong and on that day, maybe they can feel it a little stronger. It doesn't feel right, especially around christmas. To me anyway. Always was a very blue day.

I'm with the captain. I got a 4 gig(?) insignia at bestbuy with rhapsody. It's supposed to hold 1000 songs, but only really takes on about 750 or 800. I purchased a subscription to Bestbuy Rhapsody for $15 per month and can download as many songs/playlists/albums as I could ever want. Only catch is you can't burn CD's but in this day and age, why would you ever want to?
I love it. Never tried Ipod and probably never will. I get to try music with no risk any time.

"I wanted to throw the book across the room"
by GetBusyLiving ini just read the topic "i thought i was alone" by newbie elinor.
i found it interesting how he mentioned that he wanted to throw the daniel book "across the room" after reading some of the many misapplied prophecies concocted by the overlord's in brooklyn.
when i was a jw i also fantasized at times of throwing the book across the room, but for me it was the revelation book over ten years ago.

I recently helped my parents with some cleaning out at their house. Found a box of old books, mostly unused live forevers and revelation books and older yearbooks and texts. why would ANYONE keep that stuff? It felt good to pitch it out right under their noses. teehee.
