Welcome,
Glad to see you and yours are out. What part of PA do you hail from? I am South Central.
well, i've posted a few topics already and responded to a few.
and spoke with some of you.
well i just wanted to give you a little background on me.
Welcome,
Glad to see you and yours are out. What part of PA do you hail from? I am South Central.
did you love it?
were you in awe of it?
were you a true believer?
minimus,
I was involuntarily DAd by the JC approximately 3 years ago, after I had divorced my wife 18 months prior to that. I had not attended any meetings, at that point for at least a year. So, I'd been "out" for 2.5 years before they came a-gunnin' for me. Many followed me out the door, around 15 or 16 total. We now study God's word without the Apostate influence of the "society".
did you love it?
were you in awe of it?
were you a true believer?
I was always, and still am, a "true believer" in the Bible.
I was only a true believer" in the WTC, however, until I was 13 or so. Then I left, got DFd, only to come back in as a beliver in the Bible, but increasingly grew at odds with how the WTC consistently and continuously expanded their dogma "outside the things written".
From that time onward, I attempted to get them to realize this, and stop their apostate practices, to no avail, obviously.
So, I feel now, as I did then, that the Bible is "the Truth", just as Jesus Christ stated in John 17:17.
i am drinking beer today.
i know, i know................carbs, carbs.
but i don't care, its my day off and i bought a 12 pack of corona last week and i felt like having one.
There are very few beers I've tried that I didn't like, and I've tried over a thousand different beers, ales, barleywines, etc.
My favorites, however, are:
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (the absolute best ever)
Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale
Whitbread Ale (not the Pale Ale)
McCaffrey's Ale
Mackeson's XXX Stout
Boddington's Ale
LaBatt's Blue (especially the Canadian, non-US version)
Oh well, I could go on on and on. I like a Corona when it's hot out and I'm in the sun, but elsewhere something else. I rarely drink before 5pm, perhaps 2 days/month I make an exception.
Cheers!
.
i understand that a u can leave message with a firm in alaska who will pass along messages after u have died.. u can basically tell them what u think without reprussions!
Owen Moore of Texas left this message on his tombstone, one of my favorites:
"Owen Moore has gone away,
Owin' more than he could pay"
today at the grocery store , i ran into a lady that has been studying with the jw's for years,,,,,,,, i mean 10 years or more.
she was a prostitute, a crack addict, you name it this lady did it.
she is 40 something at least and is raising her two youngest children, 3 and 4 yrs.
Wow! What a sad example of mock "Love of neighbor" the JWs have become known for!
"So whenever you speak, or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law of love, the law that set you free. For there will be no mercy for you if you have not been merciful to others. But if you have been merciful, then God's mercy toward you will win out over his judgment against you." -James 2:12.13
jesus said, "you will all know my followers by they're works".
in a recent thread that i made, which lie hurt you the most, most posters presented they're arguments, and pretty much all of them said that the "lack of love" was horrendous.
why don't you write out your lack of love stories so that the lurkers can visit and see what this destructive high-control-group (aka, cult) does to the emotional health of sheep who are sick and weak.
SimpleSally,
Yes, I found that out eventually, after thawing. He's not quite evil enough. He's semi-evil. He's quasi-evil. He's the margarine of evil. He's the Diet Coke of evil, just one calorie, not evil enough. That's why I now enjoy mini-me.
Lol.

i still don't believe in the trinity.. i believe that we should pray god and not jesus like so many do
I also believe the Trinity is of non-Bblical oriigin. Add to that the immortality of the soul, and any other teaching or belief that can not be supported by the overwhelming majority of Scripture.
i'm new here, i only just found this site the other day so i don't know if i'm repeating something that has already been covered.
i'm sorry if i am.. can anyone help me on the scripture in genesis 2v9.. it says that god created two trees, the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and bad.
these were put into the garden before adam and obviously before adam and eve sinned.. if this is the case, does that mean god created bad?
Hornetsnest,
I agree with you completely. Good post. Those who ignore God's word do so at their own risk, as I have made clear numerous times here. Laughing and mocking are to be expected, they did the same to Noah, Moses, and God's own son.
Matthew 5:3-14:
"God blesses those who realize their need for him, [1]
for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.
4
God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5
God blesses those who are gentle and lowly,
for the whole earth will belong to them.
6
God blesses those who are hungry and thirsty for justice,
for they will receive it in full.
7
God blesses those who are merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8
God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.
9
God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.
10
God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
11 "God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted, too.
13 "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. 14 You are the light of the world--like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. 15 Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
one thing jws do, and especially elders, is counsel people.
everything is all about setting a person straight.
even bible students are conditioned to be counseled and to do the same toward any that ask them questions as to what they believe.
JH,
I had the same experience. The way I handled it was, that even though some months I would get more than enough hours to Auxilliary pioneer, I never did so. I just held onto the hours "in the bank", so to speak, and I'd make darn sure that I always had 10 hours or more per month to report. Worked for me.
