Some would and some would not. My own guess is that of of newly baptized JWs only 1 in 20 would shoot people if the Watchtower Society ordered it, of JWs in general only 1 in 10 would, but of Elders 2 to 3 in 4 would, of Circuit Overseers 4 in 5 would, of District Overseers 90% would, of those higher up 95%. So it depends on whom you ask and who you yourself are (regular JW/Elder up) when you do the asking, thus skewering the possible results.

"What If The WT Told You to...
by Francois in... get your gun out and go to any church of christendom on a certain sunday a few weeks after the publication date of the watchtower that was making the demand, and open up on the congregation?".
that question was asked of active jws in good standing by richard hickman, whom many of you know, when he was doing research for a book he was writing.
strangely enough, the most common answer went something like this:.

LATEST INFO ON THE BERRY v. WATCHTOWER LAWSUIT
by MadApostate inwould silentlambs/billbowen, or some other member of the xjw hierarchy clique, be so kind as to grace us xjw commoners, irregulars, and inactives with the latest info regarding the berry lawsuit?.
i do believe that it was early to mid august when you guys were so kind as to notify the board that the lawsuit was being filed, along with predictions that the berry lawsuit, and the undoubtedly avalanche of similar lawsuits, would bring the wts to its "financial knees".. well, its been over 120 days, and there must have been several pre-trial motions and rulings, including a motion to dismiss by the wts.. would you kindly fill us peons in on the details?.
what other lawsuits have been filed in this interim?

Desire to know what's going on is okay, but the desire to gloat if the WTS should prevail is not okay, even if it's done not because happy the WTS won but because your view won. Let me remind you that the WTS has won in some states but lost in others. The Mormons and Roman Catholicism have paid out heavily over child molestation by their clergy and it can and will occur with the WTS -- in one state or another. If you hit a rock with a hammer in enough different places enough times it will finally shatter.

Dear Mom, I love you, and the kids and any future grandkids so fight child rape out of love for Jehovah. You're still free to pick up the telephone and talk to me since I'm not disfellowshipped, just as all others in the brotherhood are. Love for what Jehovah wants is greater than misplaced love for one's peers whether we are children or adults. With Love,

mailing list
by ballistic ini've just realised it's really easy to get email addresses of witnesses by searching sites which host personal web space.
what are your views on sending out mailings and what kind of info would you send and do you think it's right (i noticed many of the pages appear to be jw children).
any thoughts?

If the first 3 repliers notion was followed nothing would be sent because you can't be sure the age of a person. I say they do need the information, all do regardless of age. If you compile a bunch of the emails send a copy to [email protected] please.

Elder School Summation
by messenger infriday.
well sad to say it was not revelations of sweeping reform or "new light" on caring for the flock.
the first day was primarily rehash of old stuff.

I think most all of us are grateful that you're hanging in there at least long enough to give us these insights. Job well done!

He probably doesn't believe it either and what's he's really doing is speaking upbeat to please the WTS while at the same time knowing that since this will not happen it will make those who heard what he said believe him and the WTS even less and some even quit. So he just may be on our side.
It will "look like" the U.S. membership has risen at the end of 2002 a lot because they only give the PEAK month and after Sept 11 some inactives likely did run back and go door-to-door that month, say 1-2% more. But when 2003 hits the decline will be all the more evident.

This Columnist Could Write For the WTS!!!
by MadApostate inthis beliefnet.com columnist either is a jw, or has swallowed the pr twist hook-line-sinker.. has anyone else noticed the trend in the articles i've posted over the past couple weeks where jws seem to have almost acheived "mainstream with slight oddities" status with the press?.
if we xjws don't stop sitting around here.
"preaching to the choir", we are going to lose this pr war.. .

Why don't you get the writers' emails/addresses and correctly inform them and other their readership.

Does our little crusade matter to the world?
by sleepy indoes our little crusade matter to the world?.
considering jw's make up such a small part of the worlds population to what extent do our beefs with the organisation matter to anyone unconnected?.
should our opinions of witness beliefs concern people more than witness themselves .should everyone have the right to make up there own mind and chose to be witnesses without us interfereing?.

What I think is you'd like to steer us away from publicising the WTS's coverup policy regarding child molestation by sewing doubts that doing so will have an impact and is good. To which I say, nuts.

What do you think the Dateline show will do?
by Mulan ini am curious.
does anyone really believe the dateline show will make very many current dubs "wake up" and leave?
do you think it will bring the organization down?

It won't make all quit but a drop of 3-5% in one single year in the U.S. is possible, thereafter 1-3% per year possible. Too, it would cut new studies even more steeply. In 5 years if at an average drop of 2% yearly, it would be a drop of 10% but given the fewer new studies could result in overall decrease of 15-20%. Lots of variables, but this child molestation coverup thing won't help the WTS & thats for sure!

Will we ever find the magic bullet.
by sleepy inlets just face it humans are odd.. nearly all here are proof of it.. we were able at one time to believe so fully in an idea that we gave our lives to it , and now we dont.. although this subject has been discussed many times before it is something that frustrates me , big time.. well we all at one time thought we knew it all.
the meaning of life the real history of human kind why we die why there is suffering and many more of lifes mysteries were plain and simple to us.. gradually came the realisation that things were not as we had thought.. what was once so obvious was now so obviously wrong.. so how do humans manage to believe fervently on issues that to others make no sense?.
is there a magic explanation or piece of logic that can convince any witness with a functioning mind the error of their beliefs?.

You're wrong! People do get convinced & quit the WTS. Just because you haven't helped some quit the WTS don't ssume none of us have for we have & shall. Their biggest decreses are in lands where there is lots of informtion on them off the internet & the mail.
