sounds like you hit the nail on the head Integ--this is what the title suggests..how they can drag a subject like that on for days was always beyond me--the same thing over and over again--so predictable...always got sick at assemblies--bad headaches--glad that is over.

CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY THIS WEEKEND.
by integ inin my area of the world the 2 day circuit assembly will be held this weekend.
i was wondering if anybody has attended this years assembly, or had any insight as to the message being delivered on sunday afternoon titled "don't look back...look to the future" (or something to that effect).
i must speculate and wonder if the message of this enlightening discourse will be to forget all the past mistakes of the society, and concentrate on the paradise earth, and everything that is presented from now on by the society..... "don't grumble about minor adjustments made in god's organization friends, we have to remain steadfast in our support of those taking the lead as they humbly follow jehovah's spirit direction on matters".

WT Literature . . . . How important is it?
by garybuss inwt literature, how important is it?
now they have the ability to just upload the current issues on their web site and the individuals could just download then in pdf format and print them out and then underline the answers to all questions asked in red pencil.
no need to print millions.

The straw that broke the camel's back
by Satans little helper inyou know, the last little thing that blew your patience out of the water and forced you to face up to the fact that you were in a cult that doesn't believe in the bible so much as it believes in it's own power structure?.
for me it was beards.
stupid i know and possibly the most trivial of things to be 'stumbled' over but to me it was the epitomy of what was wrong with the witnesses - arbitrary rules poking their noses into the lives of people where they had no business.

When I tried to seek help from the CO to get unreasonable insane elders off my back the CO backed the elders up and told me what he had to do was emotionally separate himself from his family so he wouldn't feel so bad when they died (referring to Armegeddon) He was expecting me to do the same. His comment opened my eyes...
Guess he didn't read the part in his bible about the last days "they would have no natural affection"
PS that was just one straw--I've got a haybale of others.

Whats the most unhealthiest place you've ever ate at?
by dustyb inthere's this place here in town called "babe's".
its soooooooooooooooo good, but the only drawback is that the hamburger is more grease and fat than it is meat.
they'll actually take the dripping fat with the spatula and throw it back in the burger and start smashing it in.

Ascot,
Just sending you some hugs and kisses. know what it is like to be a caregiver. And then there is the whole thing with the Org and their "conditional love."to top it all off. Lots of frustration for sure. Many of us share similiar experiences here and it helps to share it--sometimes to have someone else put it in words that we may not be able to express helps us all. Thanks for sharing.
Love, cybs

Amazing,
I am new here and have just recently exited after 20+ years. I applaud your strength and courage in standing up to this evil empire. I was never an immoral person by WT standards, in fact I am a person who displayed many Christian qualities and always strived to treat others with love and respect. But the Org chewed me up and spit me out pushing me to the brink of suicide. If it was not for this board and the help of other non-JWs I may not be here today to write this post.
To any WT lurkers out there--if there is a God out there he will be holding you accountable for all the needless pain and agony that you have inflicted upon myself, my family and countless others. I have seen many innocent people hurt and injured by your selfish control of our lives.

Yes, I too have lost many of my adult years in the Org. I did maintain a few "worldly" friends over the years, so I never totally bought into the whole division thing, which was part of my downfall being a JW. Just remember--people are people. In the Org we were told that there was a big division between those in the Org and those outside of the Org. But remember, we are all just human beings and capable of love and emotion, anger and hatred, etc...JWs do not have anything special when it comes to being human. I know we were all taught that we had great love among ourselves, but some of the greatest, kindest, helpful and most loving people I have known in my life were not JWs. So just go out there and be human and you will find friends--lots of them. No, they aren't perfect, but nobody is, but we can still enjoy the company of many who are different than ourselves and they can enjoy our company too--diversity is interesting!. Once we stop filtering everything through the eyes of the Org. we have more time in our lives to enjoy the company of many and the freedom of thought and expression...
