  my sister, who is still in, has just recently graduated from college (four year university) with a good degree and has landed a great job.

  its likely that she will never meet a jw man who is completely compatible with her, as she is educated, smart, and makes more money than about half her cong.

  what are the actual beliefs of jw's that you have found are false and what is the basis for it?

  uhhh, yesterday was April 1 eh lol

  anyway, from a newbie 'apostate' (jeece), I had a lot of stuff figured out on my own and only needed the coup de gras by somehow ending up at this site for my first real foray on the net for info. Actually, I was looking for something on that 'formulism' group that had a proposal to the UN on banning religion. The links were hard to find and searching here and there ended up with I believe some link about the UN NGO situation, thus, three areas of proof

  Falseness of 607 date for 18/19 th yr of ol' Nebby - GROSS dishonesty by WTS on this whole issue. Very valuable proof if you're looking for it in Carl Olaf Jonnson's two books, Gentile Times Reconsidered and The Last Days (co-written with some other dude). Unanswered by WTS except useless dribble in Appendix/Chapter 14 of Let Your Kingdom Come book. No real facts and lots of bs in there.

  Surely you have heard of Crisis of Conscience - there is a very good reason its probably the most loved expose of JWs (hated by them but of course virtually all of them have no idea whats inside)- it has the ring of truth and the tone of mildness and honesty - I BELIEVE IT. And furthermore, it remains virtually unanswered except for the usually bs of anonymously calling names to 'apostates' - jeece

  Others have mentioned other points and I really find it hard to believe your seriously asking this question but how should I know? I don't know you or your quite possibly great sense of humour. To me to ask this is to ask what 'proof' is there to support anything? The Bible being 'true', the WTS being God's One True Channel and Organization? There certainly is equal and imo much better proof the Org is as Apostate as any other belief system that strayed from early Christianity.

  Mussings on Society

  opening myself up to a lot of criticism...but here goes.. i guess i'm getting more cynical...and losing hope in society in general...here's what bothers me.. when i was a kid back in the 1970's i could walk out the door in the morning...and not come home until supper...and i was safe.

  those days are long gone.

  as i've stated before...society has become oversexualized...and has lost it's moral compass.

  being a northern cousin to the US and a northern bro to the city folks in canada, i believe in, support and will actively teach my children firearms education and their proper usage as a tool and as an piece of equipment used in sport.

  it is very complex to understand why people act out their frustrations and problems with physical violence and the tool used is not the reason why but rather a means to an end.

  i believe statistics will show that common kitchen knives kill far more people than firearms, so are they next on the list along with bats, sticks and really bad gas? The ol' ban 'bad' dogs versus irresponsible owners.

  many many firearms injuries and deaths could be prevented by educating our children from very young on how to safely use firearms or at least their correct purpose and by safe and proper storage of them

  just a thought from the other side, don't throw anything too hard this way!

  I learned from you the other day to examine ASSUMPTIONS to get to the heart of a matter and your statement above does that - thank you.

  Thank the beer gods I won't be going to anymore meetings, CA, DA, International DA, the memorial, the 'special' assembly day, etc, etc.

  Poztate, I agree, if there is a TRUTH religiously about serving God, then there is no way I can see possible to ever justify that jws could have it. If it was still the TRUTH, then I'll be damned for sure cuz I can't imagine ever being a part of it again - IMPOSSIBLE!

  i once spent some time living in a womens refuge with my four children escaping from the domestic violence and emotional abuse that my husband deemed to be appropriate to bestow upon us.

  apparently he had the blessing of my congregation to do so.

  i identified with your feelings inside as you saw this fellow at the door and thought about your own experiences. i too, for my own reasons, feel immensely strong feelings about my former religion and the ridiculousness of that religious system as 'the Truth'

  i became part of the internet community around 2000, and one of the first things i type into google's search engine was "jehovah's witnesses.

  " i was presented with an amazing number of websites devoted to jehovah's witnesses.. i clicked on one site, which really led me to a posting on a bulletin board.

  at that time, i was a believing dub.

  interesting article and at times incomprehensible but at other times, i agree truthseeker, it had the 'ring of truth' to it - and since this analytical process of deciding whether i'll believe something, and, it being a gift of thinking from the wts (heh heh thanks gb), i will consider believing some of what was said.

  wow, it took me a long time to access this site once again.

  i have a fairly good intelligence level i like to think, but i tried every which way but loose to get into this site for a while with no success.
