I never went out in service when I was older. I did go when I was young in my teens. I always hated it. I hated giving talks and hated the written review hated the assemblies. The only part I liked was the "quick builds". Every mouth the service elder called me on my time and I say nothing. He than said you must of talked to some one did you? I said perhaps maybe. So he wrote down 2 hours for me. He did this for years. It has been 25 years now since he called me. I guess he got the massage.

How many of you remember the "Pioneer Shuffle " and the special "time reporting" of pioneers?
by Foolednomore ini started pioneering in my late teens an remember how slow pioneers would walk to the doors while out in circus.
also, they would not really talk to anybody at all.
they would start their time as soon as they got dressed an out the door, while us regular shucks started our time at the first door we knocked at.

What's the deal with Cheese and Apple Danishes at conventions.
by pistolpete inthis was before my time, but there was this post that had 308 comments testifying that the best thing of being a jehovah witness back in the day was the convention's meals.
is this true?.
one quote out of 308;.

Oh yes I remember volunteering for food service. It seemed I always was selected for tray cleaning. One time we cleaned off the metal food trays and the Mac and cheese was not eaten. We had at least 1,000 portions of this slop in a 55 gallon drum. During the "talks" we had to take this food out back and the drum was so heavy it rolled down a flight of stairs. What a mess we just took off because we were 13 years old. I never told anyone about this until now.

Suit, shirt and tie
by JoenB75 ini always hated suit, shirt and tie and wondered why men of all walks of life should be forced to wear these uncomfortable clothes and spend the money on them.
it should be remembered some of the worst people wear them, like creepy joe, putin, dirty corrupt frauds in business, law etc.
and of course al capone.

We are now around 25 years past the point when Armageddon was to arrive as PROMISED!
by nowwhat? inabsolute worst case scenario, the last of the generation that saw the events of 1914 would have died off would be in the mid to late 1990's!
so we were told in the 1980's!
so now we 3/4 of another generation past that!.

I remember a talk at the KH by an elder back in 1994, he said not to give up and remain faithful. We are never to burn out because the end is very very near!

So many are waking up. Pandemic gave jws time to think.
by pistolpete inthis is not about stats, but "actual experiences" happening world wide in the organization.
there is about 156 comments of what some jws are seeing in their congregation.
feel free to read and come to your own conclusion on whether the watchtower organization is turning pimo but no one says anything in order to keep family relations.

I have a stupid question. During a zoom "meeting" do they still have the ministry school? And if you had a #2 talk how is that done?
