Simon limped home on Wednesday with a horredous clattering noise and no barely any power coming from the engine of ours - luckly it happened right near home and not during the 60 mile trip he had just made. So it was towed off to the garage on the back of a waggon yesterday

Eastenders is much better and my favourite
God no, Eastenders is utter crap - there must be more gangsters per square mile in Walford than anywhere else on the planet - and every other sentence is "Wots goin on"
I quite like Emmerdale, and usually watch Corrie but that goes in cycles of being pretty good to completely boring - its in a boring phase at the moment.

After 30 years my mother now has doubts!!
by diamondblue1974 ini have just finished an incredibly long conversation with my mother which was tense in parts and hard going but i feel as though i have made a break-through; i was incredibly delicate in my approach given her 30 years inside the borg but again i think i have made some headway.. we covered the un scandal and i asked whether she had heard anything about the wts affiliation with the un as an ngo; she surprisingly had heard nothing about it; i read the guardian articles to her and she was silent....i half expected to hear her hang up the phone but she continued to stay on.
she tried to justify it initially but slowly i allowed her to reach her own conclusions and she has agreed to let me send the information upto her; i.e the guardian newspaper articles and the ngo press release.. we covered the child abuse policies and lack off protection for children and covered the highly legalistic approach taken in the very little policy they have...which is mainly about self preservation.
i asked her whether she knew that the society in the us are being sued by a number of different people for the organisations failure to protect children from abuse and i asked if i could get the proof without using 'apostate' sources, i.e primary sources such as court judgements etc, would she accept the information?

Why not ? we were all at the stage where we would defend the truth once, before we found out the real "truth" - alot of us with the help of lurking on various web sites.
Just because someone is an apologist does not make them a troll as some people like to label them in other topics. Everyone no matter what stage they are at is welcome here.

What is the WORST item of clothing you have ever worn/bought?
by PaulJ inmine was a short-sleeved 'raver' t-shirt with a hood i wore when i was 13. it was a orange,green and yellow aztec pattern.
for a few months i thought i looked cool.

Uniform at an old job was a skirt that was right on the knee and had huge pleats (sp) all the way around - it was a horrible shade of blue and had a matching jacket which had to be worn with an ORANGE tie which really didn't go with the shade of blueAlso being an 80's kid I wore leg warmers - oh the shame, hey they looked cool on Fame !

We have been watching it with our kids - they love it. The one last week was the best yet. Dylan has been asking every day this week "how many days until Dr Who is on again"? He is so excited about the Daleks but I think he is going to be upset that the Dr is going to be killed, so we have been telling them about how he regenerates but I don't think he has quite got that yet.
One day to go !!!

Boy its hard for teenaged JW's
by skyman ini had to come home early from work today because a 17 year old girl came over to me and was all upset she asked if she could come up and visit with my wife and i. she said the brothers are always picking on her and she can not do anything right.
i asked,what have you done she said nothing every time it is some one making things up and she is tired of even trying any longer.
teenagers come from over all the area they they know they can come and talk to us and we will not judge them.
