  You know you're NOT a JW anymore when...(add some)

  you don't automatically wake up with a headache on sunday morning.... you no longer go around (while in field service) mentally deciding what home you'll "have" after armaggedon.... every item of clothing you buy as a woman is not first assessed for its modesty value.... you no longer worry about the 144,000 watching you have sex...:).

  when on holiday you don't have to find the nearest kingdom hall asap (remember brother and sisters you are not on holiday from jehovah!!!).

  being able to laugh about having a numb ass at the assemblies from sitting and the hilarity in having to tell people that you found the meeting "uplifting" when really you were fighting sleep the whole time.... you no longer have to avoid entire sections of music stores in order to make sure you don't pick up and "demonistic" vibes from backmasked cd's.

  Your shoes arent bought with FS and comfort in mind.

  You carry a handbag and not a book bag.

  You have more trousers than skirts and dresses and more chances to wear them.

  this is probably for the brits.... i've got some frenchies coming over for lunch/dinner and i'm knocking up a traditional roast, but want to make some yorkshire puddings.

  i've tried them before but their always flat / limp / crap!.

  does anyone know how to make them tall and fluffy?.

  Hope all is ok for Aloneinoh.

  LT Yes that was selfish of that individual BUT I doubt he was in a very altruistic frame of mind at the time. I would also think that the very public location that he chose meant his act was meant to be cry for attention or help and not to be so terribly final.

  I am sorry for the poor child who found him and of course for the family and friends who are now questioning themselves as to how they too have failed and died a little that day.

  We are very complicated beings.

  Do some WT phrases make you squirm?

  for me it's "the doors of the ark are closing.

  i can never forget as a child, being forced to see the graphic images in the publications showing families, mothers with little babies clinging to a rock and others drowning as the ark floats away.

  fathers shaking their fists at god for destroying their families... it's like some of the little mind control still functioning in there somewhere causing a kneejerk reaction of uneasiness.... are there any others that bug you?.

  The secret is in a VERY hot pan and oil/fat before you pour your rested mixture in, and the dont be tempted to open the oven door until they are ready.

  NO ONE CAN COME TO THE FUNERAL!!!!

  just an update on my previous thread.as you know, my mother in law who is a jw, asked me to conduct the funeral for my father in law.i am disassociated.

  apparently, the elders wrote to the society and had a meeting today.

  the outcome is that noone is allowed to come to the funeral, not even close friends of my mother in law from the hall.

  I am so sorry that you and your family are having to cope with such abhorrent behavior at such a sad time. If we lived closer we would come to give our support at the funeral.

  We had a similar situation to cope with for my son wedding, obviously far less traumatic but it still caused an upset.

  Dont be too hasty in stepping back from participating in the service etc especially as your MIL has asked you to do this. She must have very good reasons for it.

  nothing new there you might think, but...all the band members are active (?

  ) witnesses, all supposedly "in good standing", and including at least two elders, an ms and a pio.

  We might have to wait for them to reply as they should all be at their 2 day CA at Hayes bridge this weekend.

  Some might even have items to do. I know I have seen them before!!!!

  Course they might even be doing a song or 2 from the platform (or maybe not).
