It is NOT the truth.
It is merely a set of teachings based on the myths of the nomadic Israelites. A tribe that desperately tried to make every day life more bearable with stories.
You dont have to live with those stories now.
Time to move on Scooby and be true to yourself.

A Difficult time...........

its so very hard trying to justify yourself to all those you love, don't you find that?.
mum has been so good recently towards me about my fella, she keeps a quiet sort of disaproval as its not "in line with the truth" and it's funny, but i do love her still for being that way.

FWIW I think that the main problem is your understanding of the JW beliefs.
If you honestly believe that they are right then you will always be unhappy unless you become totally committed to their teachings and renounce your present life and love. As it stands it would appear that you can only give a part of yourself to the person and life that you are now leading. Is that really enough or even fair to you and your partner.
Limping on 2 opinions is a valid scenario whether in or out of the JW system.
For the good of your mental health you must once and for all prove the veracity of all that the WTBTS teaches and stands for. Surely you will admit that you owe this to yourself and your partner. This will of course take time and effort to throughly research.
You love and respect your mother but you are not a little child to be coerced by subtle veiled threats and innuendos however innocuous they appear.
You will at the end of your search be left with the scenario of deeply dissappointing either your mother or your partner but by then you should be totally convinced by your choice.
Sorry I hope this doesnt seem uncaring or harsh.

They make us feel like garbage.....but next year we have PLANS!!!
by Gill inhaving spent last friday evening with jw relatives, both husband and self have been a bit 'uncomfortable in our skins' today.. i don't know why they ask us.
they treat us as if we weren't there and there is a definite atmosphere that hangs heavily and i believe they only ask us just so they can ignore us.
they have done this every year for the last twenty years and we have plans to make this one our last.

True JW love at its best!!!. You really dont need that anymore (esp with other halfs work problems).
Hope you can find a way to "come out" for next xmas with tinsel and lights blazing.
I think it is easy to overlook or forget just how much courage and time it takes to leave the JW's.
There can be so many threads to untangle and a new way of life to learn (or maybe try and remember).
Give yourselves a big pat on the back for coming this far.
Meeting and making new friends takes time if anyone has a magic formula I would love to hear it.
