do they feel intimidated by the fact that ex-jw's know all about the way they function as an organization?
(well except what happens at the "back room" and at gb decision making meetings)..... is it because they can still "catch" worldlies?.
...or is it because ex-jw's could poison those still in "the truth"?.

XJW's know the Truth about the truth.
Most of us are more than willing to share that knowledge.
Having left their clutches ( a very big and brave step for most) they know we wont be bullied or forced to shut up.
Some could be jealous of our feedom.

just to let everyone on here who knows my dad, that he is seriously ill, and unfortunately on life support.
he has renal and respiratory failure as a result of the quickest onset of pneumonia i have ever seen... it came on in the early hours of this morning.
he is waiting for an intensive care bed but the nearest one is 200 miles away.

the assembly hall i believe used to be a reformed school for boys and was completely renovated and dedicated in 1985.. it was the only assembly hall i knew of that sold souvenir pens, book marks and notepads.. .
Yep knew all the 'secret rooms'.
As a family we did the regular maintenance twice a year with extras as needed due to others halfs 'worldy qualifications'. LOL.
Also worked during the renovation /construction stage.
Got on really well with Chris and Dennis the 2 overseers who lived on site - are they still there?
Other half even had a phone call from Chris some time after we had left the org for some technical info on the M&E plant.
Remember the announcements about keeping off the grass at lunchtime-such a shame.
We always eat in the car and later our camper van which was even better.
Does anyone remember the map that you got with your parking tickets with the correct route to follow so as not to upset the neighbours?
Another thing what about the lovely kitchen that was put in - remember cleaning that after lunch so missed most of the afternnoon session.
Doing cleaning during the morning session and talking and having a laugh with the other volunteers.
Carefully managed you could miss most of the ASSembly as long as you where happy to don rubber gloves and wield a mop.
Been out for about 8 years so dont know what its like now.

if an elder or elders demanded that they wanted to talk to you, what would you do?.
if the elders began "questioning" you, how would you deal with them?.
Tell them that you have never been happier.
Thank them for their concern.
Tell them that deep down you are sure they as an individual are really loving caring people but that they are allowing themselves to be mentally controlled.
Assure them that you will be there for them when the blinkers come off and they learn the REAL truth about the WTBTS.
Turn the tables and shepherd them.

since i have left the watchtower i have met a really great girl [ or as the tower might put it-worldly].
the thing is i think i might be in a bit of a predicament because when i left the tower i decided on the option that i would just walk away and not send a letter of dissociation.and the local elder and his wife lives right next door to me.because of this i have still saw them and other of my tower associates and been able to speak to them and they have spoke to me.. but now i have a feeling that once i start to bring my girlfriend back to my place that my neighbour/elder will take more of an intrest in whats going on and it might lead them to dissfellowshipping me.although as far as im concerned my life is none of there buisness anymore.but im just wondering how long it will take for them to visit me and announce that they are going to df me.. anyone had any similar experiences or anything?.

Good that your life is looking good and moving on.
Remember that the only power that any of the JW's hold over you is the power you give them.
If being DF/DA is not a family problem then continue to be pleasant and polite to them but live your own life.

guess i'll be the first one to do an (inevitable) thread about 9-11. hard to believe it's been 7 years already.
i was at work when one of my co-workers came up and told me that a plane had hit the world trade center.
i thought it was awful, but i figured it was a small single engine plane that maybe lost its way in the fog.
Was reading JWD when someone from the USA (dont remember who) posted about the 1st plane hitting the tower.
Tried to get onto all sorts of news sites to find out more but everywhere was VERY busy. Turned on BBC news 24 on the TV and watched it all unfold.
We just couldnt believe what we were seeing.
Was watching a Queen video recently of their hit 'Under Pressure' which shows a building coming down and it took me straight back to 11/11.
I hope the world never forgets.

today i decided to visit a friend of mine who i met when she was my study.
(she has no intentions of making a commitment, but still continues studying with old pioneer 'friends' of mine.

Cant give any helpful ideas for coping other than try to build a new life and be happy.
Not easy I know and we are still trying to achieve this having got out.
Looking at the ages of your older children I would assume that they are typical youngsters and maybe going
in the opposite direction to what mum and dad want is driving their meeting attendance ATM.
Thankfully our 3 are all OUT now but they did still attend for a while after we left.

hi all.. my mother in law got "a talking to" by 2 elders today.
thing is, we all live together, my jw mother in law, my disassociated wife and i, and, our little girl.
we have all been living together for 5 months or so.

Are you and your wife viewed as apostates?
If the answer is yes then I would think if your mil didnt conform to their wishes and move out after a number of 'shepherding' visits, during which time she would probably be viewed as weak and a 'bad association and 'marked' as such then they would DF her.
Is there a local elder who might be on a witch hunt who could be driving this?
Does she want to leave the JW's?
