I imagine most, if not all, of the clientele in the salon are women, and you said the dog barks at men who walk by? Sometimes a dog, male or female, will only bark at men. I've seen this before. It usually means they were abused exclusively by men.

I Have A Question About A Dog
by minimus ini would like to have your opinion on something if you don't mind.
my girlfriends dog, a scottish terrier, is a wonderful lovable dog about fiveyears old.

In Your Opinion Do Today's Elders Recognize That The Religion Is BS?
by minimus ini always wondered that while i was in especially when i was an elder.
i recognize that some people, elders included are brain-dead.
but do you think that the average older today knows it's all nonsense?

"Some thought they were worshiping
JehovahJesus."Why did you put it like that? JWs don't worship Jesus.

ADHD Caused by Chemo
by azor ini just found out yesterday that my son who is less than a year out of treatment for leukemia has adhd caused by the chemo that saved his life.
does anyone here have any experience with this?
primarily looking for books or resources that helped you or your loved ones..

The existence of ADHD is hotly debated among child psychologists. Most ARE in agreement that it cannot be "caused" by any external factor, while several are of the opinion that it doesn't exist at all and that it's merely a convenience label slapped onto children who are more rambunctious than normal and certain people (mainly teachers) simply don't have the patience to deal with them, so they pressure the parents to get their children "help" in the form of prescription medication. That medication, however, HAS been known to cause a multitude of problems.
As a child, I was placed on various meds for a number of fabricated disorders I was later proven not to have. Meds included Paxil (back before it was restricted to adults only), Mellaril, Desyrel, Cogentin, and even Haldol. Yes, they put me on Haldol at eight years old because a school counselor chalked my wild imagination up to hallucinations without even bothering to ask me whether I believed the characters I drew pictures of and told stories about were real or made up. -

Are there any doctrines which all Christian religions follow.
by jwfacts ini cannot think of a single doctrine that is so clearly laid out in the bible that every christian sect teaches the same point.
are there any doctrine where there is total consensus amongst all christian religions, including jehovah's witnesses?.

Uh, the ten commandments? ALL Christians follow them. Or claim to follow them.

It's weird to look back at old family stories about our beliefs.
by schnell inmy parents had a story that the first time my dad ever met my mom's father, he opened the door and immediately asked dad, "what are you gonna do if my grandson needs a blood transfusion?!".
grampa was a ww2 vet, an airplane mechanic, a methodist and freemason.
he and my grandmother were pictured all my life as these ogres who opposed my mother's jw conversion and her marriage to my father.

Son? Are you opposed to having a daughter? Why do men only want sons and never daughters?

Random Thoughts on Getting Older
by Lee Elder inthe reality that all of us ultimately must face is that we get older and our bodies, and our minds eventually fail us.
i have seen this first hand in my family, in the jw community, and in the ex-jw community.
it is simply a sad part of the human condition, as is physical, emotional, and mental illness.

The anointed one I know assured me recently that I would never grow old. I'm currently 36, and given that she considers herself old at 60-ish, the new system will apparently be here in less than a quarter of a decade. You have no idea how badly I wanted to tell her about the countless others who were told the same or believed in it themselves, only to grow old and die. Many of them have been dead for decades now. Surely she was told as a kid that she would never grow old, much less graduate from high school. Honestly, how do these people willfully forget their own youth?
The few times I've mentioned how people in the past who were certain that the end was "right around the corner" turned out to be wrong, she dismisses it with the argument that the signs of the times are just so much more obvious now, how can we deny it? That and the old "this system can't possibly last much longer because..." BS. -

Just curious about how faithful women are these days. Anybody know?
by Alostpuppydog inso being someone who is not, however still believes around 70% of what the jw's talk about as far as the bible goes, ignoring the fact of no blood transfusions, shunning, etc.
wt doctrines, i got this question.
anybody really know how faithful 'worldly' (i use this term lightly 😉) women are these days?
-
Nevuela
You may as well ask how faithful humans are these days. Posing such a gender-specific question is no different than asking how faithful Hispanics are or how faithful people living in the state of Iowa are or how faithful redheads are. You are assuming that a group of people identified by a single trait are somehow different from the rest of humanity.

Armageddon
by finnrot inwith these new disasters going on around the world, i would imagine that the jw's are going ape shit with the thought of death and destruction right around the corner.
i was smart enough to leave this cult after 1975 came and went with a whimper.
i was in my teens at the time and i vividly remember to this day the excitement all the witlesses had with the knowledge that '75 was going to be the year of armageddon!!!

Here's a morbid thought...
by Rainbow_Troll init probably will never happen but... imagine the gb recieved some new light that told them the great tribulation was imminent.
the world is going to hell and all jws can expect until armageddon is terrible persecution the likes of which no christian has ever experienced in two thousand years.
but jehovah has a solution: put yourself and your family 'to sleep' and after armageddon's over, jehovah will 'wake his people up' at the resurrection.
