Wait you get teary eyed for WW1 vets? That was one of the bloodiest and most useless wars in history. Nobody should have fought in that war. I don't mean disrespect. But beside invent adolf hitler, modern tools of war, and a few other characters what non evil thing came from that war?

CNN , Headline News , and 1914 , hhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm !!!!!!!!!!
by run dont walk insaw a great little piece on headline news or cnn the other night, they showed a memorial celebration of the 90th year of world war one.
now think about this, how many veterans do you think attended from world war one ???????.
the one veteran who layed down a wreath, was 108, and he talked a little, the best he could, and thanking his fellow war heroes.. this piece really hit home with me, because, didn't the watchtower once say, the generation of 1914 will not pass away, remember the early teaching, "they would have to be able to understand the things going on", "first started with 15 years olds, then ten year old, then can't be babies born, then can be babies born.

Organ transplants
by XQsThaiPoes ini was reading about organ transplants.

from what i have read you basically trade diseases.

Wonderful. I hear want makes liver transplants so dangerous is there is no safety net. The new liver has to hit the ground at full capacity or you poison your brain. Also for some reson the liver being part of the immune system helps reduce certain types of rejection.

double
what do you mean botch transplans are serious. If they were so easy people would have suceeded in the 1930's. If you have a nice happy low rejection body fine but if you start clock 20+% on the tissue type test you are screwed.

Yes, *some* transplants are vastly more difficult to deal with then others, but not as hard as death.
Um death is really easy. Heck you don't even have to try to die. Infact death is free.
I am not talking thing like bone marrow or skin graphs not even things we have easy machines or medicine for like kidneys/ Pancreas . I mean things like lungs, liver, heart and heart/lung.

I was reading about organ transplants. It they seem to be much like the space shuttle a working prototype. From what I have read you basically trade diseases. You never stop suffering. For the money involve it seems like a con game. Imagine if you had a heart problem and the DR said I can fix your heart and give you 5 more years, but you'll have to win the lottery, and I'll have to cut you open, break your ribs, and give you full blown AIDS.
I really can't see the point. You life for the most part will get worse, and your anti rejection drug will kill you. And the amount of time the DRs give is relatively short. I am not trying to be callus. What am I missing?
I could go for some high tech genetic engineered transplant. I could go for Having 5 or 10 clone brothers that we could share organs. I can't see trading one disease for a grab bag of pain suffering and death. Can anyone set me straight?

The Watchtower's incredible ignorance about the human body.
by Norm inbabylonian teachings are always strongly condemned by the watchtower.
there is nothing considered so evil and abominable as whatever considered as babylonian.
it is therefore a remarkable fact that the watchtower society itself is guilty of teaching babylonian ideas.

notice the dates of the events
1953: A heart-lung machine designed by physician John Gibbon is used in open-heart surgery, demonstrating that an artificial device can temporarily mimic the functions of the heart.
? 1964: The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute sets a goal of designing a total artificial heart by 1970.
? 1966: Michael DeBakey of Houston successfully implants a partial artificial heart.
? 1967: Christiaan Barnard performs the first human heart transplant. The patient, 53-year-old dentist Louis Washkansky, dies 18 days after surgery in South Africa.
? 1969: A total artificial heart is implanted into a patient by Denton Cooley of the Texas Heart Institute. The patient gets a heart transplant three days later but dies more than a day later.
? 1982-85: William DeVries carries out a series of five implants of the Jarvik total artificial heart. The first patient, Barney Clark, survives for 112 days. Only four others receive the Jarvik as a permanent replacement heart; one, William Schroeder, lives 620 days; he dies in August 1986 at age 54. Other patients receive the Jarvik as a temporary device while awaiting transplants.
People started existing long periods of time with out hearts and yet they did not go insane or become robots. And the articles are a direct response to medical research. Hence the 1971 and 1986 dates.

Spirit-Directed Organization
by UnDisfellowshipped inthis is what the watchtower society claims (i can post quotes if anyone wants them):
* jehovah does not directly communicate with anyone today.
* jehovah is using the watchtower society and the faithful and discreet slave class as his only "channel of communication".

I seriously think the watchtower is going to turn on the JWs. Alienating them. Think of it now they told us in the magazines stop writing them for direction on the blood issue. What will be next? I think in a few years the watchtower will stop sending free lawyers and start giving press releases in the nature of "We don't condone or approve the actions of the Jehovah's Witness church or its members nor ar wee associated with them. The only activeties we promote or sponsor are the annual conventions." knowing the average JW they say something like "the watchtower never made a press release saying it is nolonger associated with Jehovah's WItnesses." Then when you show it to them the'll say "the watchtower only said that because the apostates are trying to sue the watchtower. Thats just for the public."

Actually if the bible shows anything it is that God does not have an organization. He has people he gets infatuated with and then the humans around them get greedy and either wana mooch off their relationship with god or kill the person.

My Jetobah Witness floor
by onacruse ini recently helped my long-time business partner, and good friend, install a wood floor in his new house.
the name of the wood is "jetobah," a variety of brazilian cherry.. we've been working our butts off, and this afternoon i suggested that he just not do any shop work tonight, turn the radio to a blues station that has a regular friday night r&b program, and "shake that jetobah floor".... well, i did my usual faux pas and said "jehovah" floor.
dang, i hate it when i do things like that!

This generation has by no means passed away.
by AlanB injust seen on the british news a commemoration of the soldiers who fought in wwi.. the generation has by no means passed away.
there are 23 old british soldiers remaining, although sadly only 4 were able to attend the commemoration at the cenotaph.
the youngest is still only 104.. so there is hope yet that the prophecy may still be fullfilled.. has to be quick though boys !!.

For decades now, Jehovah?s Witnesses have taught that the current fulfillment of the sign proves that a "great tribulation" is yet to come. The present wicked "generation" will see that tribulation. It seems that there will again be an opening phase (an attack on all false religion), just as Gallus? attack in 66 C.E. opened the tribulation on Jerusalem. Then, after an interval of unspecified length, the end will come?destruction on a worldwide scale, paralleling that in 70 C.E.
The present wicked generation is the generation of 1999 when the aritcile was published not 1914. They contradict themselves. Infact due to them stating it how they did traditionally it would be interpeted as what ever generation is reading it. So 50 years from now that will be the generation it is talking about and the prediction they'll see the the great tribulation. Because it used the word "Present" and "will".
