Hey I just talked to HLC they are actuallytrying to muscle these and other substitutes harder than the dr. are. THese are for tramatic blood loss with out pnuemonia. That is what the fda has approved it for (people with hematological diseases seem to always get the short end of the stick). They say some DR.s will you it in "caompassionate" cases.
So what I am trying to say is this. The medical community is actually stricter than the watchtower which is encouraging these substitutes. Go figure. Seems both has a health helping of laywers counseling them too.

Guys please don't doubt me on saying the wts promoted school and careers in our assembly.
THey did it by given two talks the first was a talk about all these people that were educated giving up their high paying jobs (I really wish they showed income tax returns instead of taking the speakers word for it because "high" pay is subjective) to pioneer and take care of elderly retired pioneers and ex-cos.
THe next talk was something about using you "I'll gotten wealth" to serve jehovah like king solomon did. I found the part odd because to most people ill gotten weath usually appliess to dirty money from crime. THe talk was basically about giving bigger donations, and giving room and board or money to bethelites or pioneers.
Another thing is the wts has basically been throwing "speacial meetings" (secret) given by bethelites. THey announce what halls these shows are going to be at. They are basically job fairs. THey show the work being done at wallkill, and then encourage yonge people to go to college and then go to bethel. Apparently there are only so many toiletes to scrub now days, or maybe they are tired of teaching people from the groud up how to do simple industiral arts.
Knowing so people here i am about to be called a liar. -

Around here the message was to go to school. But you did say university so most likely they mean some type of JC or trade school since universities seem to offer feilds the WTS has no use for outside of Law, medicine, egineering, and arcitecture.

Yes he did. In short christianity is a 2000 year old child support case.Even if mary was not 13 I doubt she was over 18 because she was still a virgin and engaged to Joseph. Vigin women did not last too long before they started making babies.

christians have been looking for the rapture for 2000 years and still nothing has happened.

I have said this a few times. BA's and JW's are the same religion. One has Jimmy Carter and the other Ike Eisenhower (bad joke I know). The watchtower is retiring Armageddon, and basically replacing it with a watered down rapture (this may changed when the war on terror is "over"). I find it intellectually dishonest when people try to cut JWs out of BA christianity when you can't. Both as JH said are "made in the USA". The only real differences is JWs are unitarian, and they changed the name of purgatory to "paradise earth".

Would you continue to be a JW if?

your family and friends would treat you the same if you were a jw or not.
i am wondering who would be compelled by some inner flame to leave jws even if you could stay and believe or behave how you wanted.

I was going to start a site like that, but put it on hiatus when my dad tried to frame me for apostasy so he could kick me out of the house.
THere has to be more JWs like me that really are not compelled to "leave the truth" even if we know it "the truth" is filled with a healthy helping of lies or ignorance. A while ago I stopped in general of believing the accuracy bible cannon. Meaning that if I left JWs I would still think other churches were just as guilty of lying or ignorance. I also find the concept of universalist churches silly. Yet, I still like religion. I have a disdain of spirituality though.
In short the JWs feel right for me. It is the WWE of religion. -

I think the problem is most JWs are not listening to the watchtower period (the also explains so many dfings and faders). It is like a child that won't listen to you so you keep turning up the volume, and eventually before you realize it you are yelling at them.
The watchtower is doing the same. No matter what they say the JWs are not listening like they used to. While this may seem like some authoritarian brainwashing campaign to some it is not. It is an example of loss of command and control. Unlike the russian army the watchtower can't shoot any soldier that looks behind him.
Many JWs are voting with their behaviors. Look how many good JWs come here. Usually they are scared off, but the fact they openly give here a try shows that the Wts is becoming a toothless bulldog. THey keep berating the elder body every assembly too. Telling them basically that they are forsaking their positions.
I think that right now it is more difficult to get DFed because the elders know that you probally wont be comming back, once you leave youll get on the net, and then thats the end of that. I assume that you could get away with anything in reason and plea bargain your way back into the cong relatively quickly because unlike before it is slim pickings.
Besides people now know that the pedophile scandal expossed the gapping hole in the DFing system. Showing that it is totally inert in "keeping the congregation clean". -

Lets all agree it is intentionally worded to allow you to associate with your family normally, but heavyhandedly tries to make you feel guilty or abhorent for doing so. Hey I am not an X.
I notice the watchtower assemblies are getting weirded. THe message is changes but oddly to a stupider and more materialistic tone: "Give up your dead end job to sell magazines. Yong people go to school to become skilled professionals that donate their services to us for free. Well off upper middle class JWs thought few and far between you can donate not only to the watchtower, but should start donating directly to the poineers and bethelites."
I am mockingly paraphrasing a talk from our assembly this year. -

The Global Flood

my father used to be an elder for many years and the flood was one of the things that made him walk away not just from the jw but also belief in the bible.
he was hung up on issues like the flood taking place about 3500 bc and how that fit in with the pyramids.. i don't know much about egyptian history or the ages of the big pyramids, but his reasoning was if the flood wiped out every human on earth except noah etc then at 3500 bc there were only 8 people on earth.

AF you are right but the bible itself conflicts the flood account. Tribes and cities that were destoryed in the flood reappear uninterupted a few pages later. Take Jerico. It is one of the worlds oldest cities it is almost 9000 years old. How in hell did gideon fight them if the flood should have killed them?
