My Irish father who was never a JW.but. married to a staunch JW woman always said swear words had their place. He said only use them in times when only a swear word will really express your feelings.. otherwise.. a milder version would do.. Guess that is why I always heard him swearing and cursing when he was working on his car.. working in his workshop.. etc..

Hey, watch the language!
by cyberguy inive used many expletives in my life, especially when ive hit my finger with a hammer!
however, ive seen some words and expressions used recently on this board that should be edited-out in my humble opinion!
okay, if you absolutely need to use a curse word, just put the first letter then some ***.

Hi rune.. welcome back.. I am from the Toronto area but I have visited Ottawa a few times.. I was raised as a JW but didn't manage to escape until I was 30.I didn't want to raise my kids as JWS and have them suffer a cult life like I had to.

Yep.. all the Kingdom melodies are pretty ridiculous,, and depressing too.. the music was never uplifting.. just another bogus method of trying to brainwash the Dubs

Overheard at the Book Study
by under_believer inhere are a few comments that i overheard at this week's book study (of the third chapter of the bible teach book), and the thoughts i had after hearing them: .
conductor: "as food shortages become more and more common as the time of the end advances, they will make excellent field service points since they were predicted by the bible.
me: great.

Are you internet dependent?
by greendawn inare you dependent on the internet?
how bad would you be or feel if you suddenly lost your internet connection?
i use it for work, to talk with people through skype, download music and films, e-mail, forums, and instant messengers, and finding info of all sorts.

I pay all my bills via the internet and also do my taxes and send them in via the internet.. I talk on MSN to my daughter and son who are living away from home right now . So I would say I am very internet dependent.

Do you think that the Book of "Genesis" is a fairytale?
by booker-t ini mentioned before on another post that i am in college working on my ba degree and i am having such a "hard" time with believing in the bible since taking my science class.
the information that i am learning is totally destroying my faith in the bible.
i still believe in jehovah and jesus and would never chose the "atheist" way but i am wondering if maybe the bible is just a book of fairytales to teach us a lesson.

The Bible as far as I am concerned is made of some fact and mostly fiction. It was written by men and from different viewpoints.Gensis is definitely a fairytale book.

Prince has always been a legend in his own mind..but I enjoyed his performance..he's still talented in his own quirky way..but really... I wonder what the Dubs think of him professing to be a JW...

I hated that all that counted was the number of field service hours you put in and how many mags were placed..They didn't value someone who was actually trying to just be a good JW.. I hated that everyone was always judging what others did but they did whatever they pleased. I hated the hyporcrisy and rehashed talks we had to llisten to. I hated giving up weekends that should be spent doing fun things with your family because of meetings and field service..
