I remember a very sad case in our congregation. A sister with 7 small children .. one was just a baby... was told she had a very aggressive form of leukemia. This was in the late 70's when treatment would not be as good as present day. She was told that without blood she would die within a few months.. She didn't take blood as she trusted on Jehovah.. A few months later, those little kids were without their mother...It was very sad,,They didn't get much help from the congregation and the children were always very lost with out her..The org is a cruel and unloving place that destroys families...

hi restrangled,,, welcome to the forum..Your story reminds me of an elder who at 25 was really too young to be an elder in my opinion, He used to tell his wife what went on at JCs . In fact he used to take her along when he was counselling others and helping them with their problems..And she would give advice!!..Many weren't happy with him taking her along. but they were short of men to be elders so it was allowed..until people were finally fed up with her gossiping and they ended up moving away to a new province.

An elder who was only 25 at the time married with no kids,( I think someone is not mature enough at 25 to be in a position to counsel people). used to take his wife along on most of his sheparding calls and when one Dub had problems at home or with other personal issues. She used to give her opinions at these counsel sessions, and then she would gossip to others later..Eventually they ended up moving to another province as other Dubs started to complain about her. They wouldn't remove the elder from his postion as there weren't enough men able to be elders and they needed him regardless of her behaviour.

gary.. great post.. I think it just shows that the guys at the top have no idea how to keep the masses in check..They don't live in the real world and have no idea how to handle the way the world and the people in it are changing..Guess their new light is getting dimmer...

I watched the video and it made me shudder.. I feel sorry for the cute little girl who doesn't know yet that she has been born into a life dictated by a cult..

I guess the best way for me is just to live a happy free life not hindered by their inane policies and doctrines. I finally gave blood a few months ago and I am giving blood again this week. Its also great to be able to vote for my candidate of choice(although the choices aren't great) in my country's elections. If I see a Dub from my past, I will smile as I pass them and show that my life is better and I haven't slipped into a life of demonism or debauchery.. as they so love to think of ones who leave.
