Hi livingalie. Welcome to the forum. It is helpful to have a place like this where you can discuss life with the Dubs. It is a lifestyle that you have to live and experience to really understand all the problems it causes. If you feel like like sharing your experiences in Bethel, and it helps you to talk about it, we would love to read your story.

The org has given many talks and wrote mag articles on not accepting employment where they sell cigarettes. Just another case showing how hypocritical they are ..." DO as we say.. not as we do".It all comes down to money...

yep.. amazing how they keep coming up with these bogus experiences. and the loyal Dubs will just listen in amazement and nod their heads saying "yes" "yes" like the good little brainwashed followers they have become..

Five years for me
by Jankyn inyep, it's been five years since i joined jwd.
and still only a senior member.
that would be because i generally only post when i have something to say.. i was on h2o many moons ago (also as jankyn), and i used to lurk on witnet (which i found hilarious, particularly the way that lisa--ldh--would mess with jw heads).

Hi Jankyn , Congratulations on your 20 or more years of freedom. My husband and I left, officially dissasociated ourselves in 1986, but I didn't really know about all the lies and deceit about the org until I found this site a few years ago.. We left because we were tired of the general BS and backstabbing and because we didn't want to raise our kids in that lifestyle.
All your reasons for coming to this forum regularly are the same as mine. And I am amazed to find all over the world. it is the same experiences with others, so it is not just local problems. Its good to be really positive that we made the absolutely right decision in leaving the organization of the Watchtower. I appreciate also the time and research many posters put into their comments here. They are helping many people to make life altering decisions.

Wow, what an assembly!!!!!!!!
by TooBad TooSad ini attended two days of the dc.
the only three points that i took home with me is that the end is near, higher education is a no no, and that the brothers have a problem with pornography.
i was in amazement at the number of witnesses that take notes as fast as the speaker is talking.

How many of us were less concerned about the vindication of Jehovah's sovereignty than with showing all those worldy naysayers wrong when they were destroyed at Armageddon? How many times in FS did I hear a report of an uninterested householder "who would be sorry
elliej. That is so true. My father-in-law who was an elder in his congregation talked about helping to lead Dubs thru the great tribulation and into the New System. At the same time he would shake his head and say that the people who turned away from the message of the watchtower would see they were wrong and be sorry for not listening. Sadly, he died 3 years ago never to realize his dream. After the funeral ,his wife(my mother-in-law) was upset because he didn't live to help lead the way.. Oh well.. thats the way life goes I guess!!!

Is There Anything After Death?
by Life Is Grand ina close friend of ours passed away last week-only 41 years old- from cancer.
it was truly the saddest funeral i have ever attended.
his wife was a mess, and their two little boys were being so brave for her-it was absolutely heartbreaking.. anyways, the minister giving the funeral service talked about how he is in a "better place" now, and it really started me thinking.

I agree with Scully on this one. Life is too short to wonder what comes after.Worrying can't change it anyways.. Im not really sure what I believe happens after death, but I am going to enjoy this life I have to full.We didn't know what life was before we here, I am sure life after death is just as peaceful.
I' m sorry to hear you have lost a child. That is the most difficult loss to bear for anyone. I can see why you don't like to think that this life is the end of it all.You need to find the belief system that best gets you thru life. It is different for everyone and what works for one person is not necessarily best for another.Just my thoughts.

I cooked a roast of beef on the grill last nite for dinner.. First I rubbed the outside with a mixture of Montreal steak spice, garlic&herb spice, cooked it on the grill at 300 for about 3 hours. I sliced potatoes and sprinkled them with olive oil and garlic&herb spice and grilled them on the bbq. The roast was delicious ..The outside browned nicely but inside it was very tender .I also cut carrots and wrapped them in foil with butter to have on the side. It was nice to not have a lot of pans to wash after like usual with a roast beef dinner.

My daughter shops a lot on Ebay. She always gets good deals.A few things she bought and kept for a few years and then put them back on Ebay and sold them again and recovered most of her money.
