i was on business in the area of my old congregation ( i live out of state)- the one i first got baptized in back in 1973. they were just getting started on their discussion before service- it was 9:03 am and i just impulsively turned into the parking lot and decided to pay them a surprise visit.
i just walked into the kh and looked at them for 30 seconds.
i didn't recognize anyone and finally they asked me what i wanted.
Well thats a better experience than I ever heard a Dub give from the platform at the hall.
Wish I had your courage.!! Hopefully they will think on what was said and realize they are wasting their lives serving an organization and not God as they believe.

hi new boy.. I was a teen Dub in the late 70's and I remember a brother who left bethel before his 4 years were up because he wanted to get married..Also he said he had some issues and disappointments with Bethel that he wouldn't share with anyone. He lost privledges in the congregation for a while, because he left early.But everyone worshipped him so much because he was a bethel boy, that didn't last long. He did marry a friend of mine a year later. She was a pioneer and very staunt Dub..They were never really that compatible over the years and my mother-in-law told me they separated after 20 some years of marriage and were getting divorced. They are still Dubs. I see him out in fieldservice occasionally. I do believe it was her decision to end the marriage. She never seemed so happy. My husband and I always felt she was actually a lesbian trying to tow the line. She would vacation yearly with 2 "worldly" girlfriends she had known since she was a child..
I was just feeling good about how the New Year has started. My daughter passed all her college courses for her first semester, and she is loving her studies.Nice considering a year ago, she was confused about what to do with her life. My oldest son has finally found a college course that he is interested in and will lead to a job in a year. My middle son who has always been a dream child in that he is always pursuing good things for his life, was drafted last year into the CFL as a linebacker. He played special teams this year on the B.C. Lions and they won the Grey Cup, which is the Canadian equivilant of the Superbowl. Ok.. so he doesn't make the big bucks of the NFL, but he loves what he is doing. So he's happy. In the off season , he is taking more Univiversity courses and also works at the University . His job is University development...
After the ice storm of yesterday, it is cold but sunny here. Its a good day overall.
i've been posting here for quite a long time, so long in fact that it just doesn't feel right that my wife isn't a part of it.
earlier today i created an account for her with the username heron, she'll know why.
i'm not sure if my wife will ever post here but i would feel much more comfortable knowing she is aware that i do.. this is the one post i am going to ask her to read.. so, i'd really appreciate it if you could say hello to my lovely wife.

after seeing all the controversy on the fulfillment of matt 24:14, many are waiting for it to be printed in the wt in order for it to be true.. now, the latest wt is given to jws somewhere around 3 months before it's studied at the wt study (correct me if i'm wrong).
many, if not most jws don't bother reading the brand new magazines until it's time to prepare for the sunday wt study.. now, given that the wts has to print "new light" in the wt in order for it to be true, it would take three months if not more (printing, shipping time) to announce that armageddon has arrived.. isn't there something wrong with this picture?

No.. the org will probably choose to announce it thru a tract distribution, It is lower cost than printing a Wacktower and keeps the Dubs busy in Field Service while accomplishing absoutely nothing except to pester and annoy the unsuspecting public.

a part of me says "sod 'em", but another part wants them to see how happy i am.. hmmm, not sure..
My husband and I didn't attend our DA announcement as we were too busy raising 3 little kids to care what happened at the time.. My mother-in-law told us after that many people gasped when the announcement was read and some were crying, as we had been Dubs since we were children, and grew up with many of them.. I feel sad for them that they felt so distressed about our decision that they would cry about it.. just made me even happier to be free of the mindcontrol and rules of the org.
i am curious, what amount people on this board from their experiences of being a baptised & active jw and their subsequent exit from the jw org (for whatever reason or reasons) are now either agnostic, atheist or do some actually still believe in god?.

I believe that some sort of power, not necessarily God as many like to believe caused all to exist. Whoever or whatever this God is or was ,no longer cares what happens to us. We make our own way, whatever life throws at us...I believe a god-like spirit exists in all of us, so we make decisions that are either good or bad, we decide what kind of person we want to be...So I guess I do have a belief in God.(or creator of some sort). he just is indifferent to us. At least he is not the quick to anger, petty God that is pictured in the Bible..
it snowed here at the end of december and i said then that it usually doesn't snow here in the seattle area until january or february.. well.............they predicted a big snowstorm last night, and it didn't happen, but it's snowing now, really hard.
not sure if it will last long, because the weather forecasters can't seem to predict much correctly, other than rain and wind.. i was hoping to take pictures but it's dark, so will have to wait until morning.
a cold front is supposedly going to last awhile here, so the snow should be around for a few days this time..
We finally have snow this winter here in Southern Ontario. An unbelievely warm winter so far. The ski resorts laid off workers over Christmas and most ski runs were closed. Now with this snowfall, I hear they are opening most of the runs and bringing back staff.. Its colder now, but still not the bone-chilling cold like past years.. Kind of nice for a chance. I like seeing the thin layer of snow which looks pretty, but I don't have to shovel.
