American Idol - This season 2007

i have always been open about the fact that i really like watching the american idol show, but never buy any cd's by the winners.

i am glad it is back on this season, and yet recently i have been watching some shows on it.

there is something i never noticed, but now i can not wait to watch each show to see if it is really true.

Its true here in Canada with Canadian Idol. The winners from the last few years have really done nothing, but a contestant that was in the top 10 and voted after after the first few weeks , now has a big recording career here in Canada. He has his own band called "Headly" which is his last name. He has several hits out a year.Although I think this years winner, Eva Avilla will do well also.

Nope not afraid to die..We weren't aware of life before we were born,,I am sure it will be the same after I am gone.I did have a near death experience once..Many people talk about seeing a light..That happened with me..It was a light that made me feel very peaceful and happy.. hard to describe, I have never had that feeling again..But I felt a struggle of being pulled back from the light,, that I wasn't ready..I guess I wasn't because I am still here,,

Thanks for sharing. It is a very powerful video of how people can be fooled into believing lies and cult teachings. That was me a few years ago.. It really makes me happy I escaped the life of cult lies.As others said.. it made me shiver watching it.

god forbid you would talk about the person at his funeral............what do most people get after living 70-80 years..........a 5-10 minutes eulogy....................the transition statment is "let me tell you about what fred really believed in".............................45 minutes later.....that way the specker can count his time.. as we know people in the organization are unimportant living or dead.

When my husbands brother died recently, he had never been baptised but associated because of my inlaws, who were staunch dubs.So the funeral was held in the chapel of the funeral home, which was nice. The talk was given by an elder who had never known him. They spent 5-10 minutes talking a bit about the person my brotherinlaw was.(a young man died at 39 due to a drunk driver). ..Then the rest was dub talk about the new system.. blah blah.. and my mother-in-law and his aunt sat in front of us, nodding their heads in agreement to everything he said. I found it all so ridiculous...Then the elder had the gall to say that "worldly people trivialize death". It made me so angry when we hear stories of adults and babies dying because of no blood.. and that isn't trivializing death?...They don't worry about dying.. they will be resurrected.. They really are mindlessly brainwashed.Its sad really.

Did feel that you were at a mental breaking point at the point of leaving?

prior to you leaving the org did you come to the conclusion that if you didnt actually take the step and leave, that you would run into serious mental difficulty.. i really feel that for 5 years proir to my finally leaving i was quite impaired mentally by the teachings and practices of the org.

it was coming to a head though when i finally announced that i was leaving.

i really felt that i was under intense mental pressure and that if i didnt get out then i may end up doing something serious.

Yes,,I felt the same as the other posters on this thread. I would feel sick to my stomach attending meetings and going out in field service was impossible..I couldn't give talks on the school anymore and they removed me from the talk roster as I was always feeling too sick to give talks when I was scheduled to. The last time we went was the summer District assembly 1986 ,My husband and I couldn't stomach listening to the same nonsense they were talking about and we walked out and never came back..

You Need a Good Talking To

you need a good talking tolooking back, i realize that one of the biggest turnoffs in.

the organization was when individuals made it their business to become.

involved in your personal affairs.. turning away from the organizationthere were three or four incidents with circuit overseers and .

There was always so much of brothers and sisters looking at others and making judgements of what they should or shouldn't be doing.. And then they would do what they wanted and always had some good reason for it...Brothers who had money to contribute could pretty much do what they liked,,they could serve as elders but not put in time in service, meetings or other elder responsiblities.

One time, my husband was told that he was considered for MS but couldn't be appointed as I,his wife, was not putting in my required service hours.Never mind that he took care of the magazine counter and went in Saturday afternoons on his own time and organized the new mags and publications that came in.He also stayed past everyone else after the meetings were over,making sure everything was in its place for the publications. The brother who was supposed to be helping him and was made MS..(because he sucked up to one wealthy elder) never put in time helping and he and his wife would quickly disappear after every meeting,, taking credit for all the work but doing nothing !!!

Its all such a small world of everyone thinking their special and sticking their noses where they don't belong..I am happy I don't have to be part of that phoney life anymore.

Yep it sure was creepy.. and as for witnessing to the little girl,, that is just wrong..wrong.. they should not be talking to a child without their parents being present..I am surprised though,, that people in a mindnumbing environment like that would be able to make something that , even in all its stupidity ,, is still creative.How were they allowed so much time to make that anyways??? New thinking on the part of the org,??, you can be be creative and have a hobby,, it just has to be all about the org and field service
