V...well said!!!! I know I was mislead for many years into believing their false teachings. The FDS is, in fact, the"false prophets" the Bible warns true Christians about.!!! Only they present everything in a shiny package to keep jws following them. Most jws are kind and caring people,, just being mislead!! After all we all belonged at one time,,well a great deal of us here posting believed and belonged, and I find everyone here to be the kind of people anyone would be happy to be friends with.

Destroying One's Faith
by Sunspot inthe jws are always grumbling that former jws are trying to "destroy their faith" and that they have nothing nice to say about the men who write for the watchtower or their peculiar teachings.. but then---jws go to people's homes and try to convince them that they should stop:.
praising jesus,.
celebrating or honoring their lord and savior on his resurrection or on his birth,.

He at least makes a good goalie!!! Is that to say Jesus invented soccer as well as everything else he is supposed to have done for mankind??Well , its true some people make their lives better for believing in Jesus, in that case its a good thing for them. I find my life much less complicated without religious beliefs of anykind.

Aliens are real....
by FreedomFrog inor at least in my dreams.
have you ever had a dream so real that you had to call people or do a search to find out if it was a dream or not?

I have those "realistic" type dreams alot. One night I dreamt I was driving along the coast of the ocean in B.C.It was so real I was watching the ships sailing and people swimming along the shore. I was looking for a particular bar along the sea where I was supposed to meet my husband for drinks. I remember it so well because I had the feeling of total bliss, no worries about kids, bills or other things. Then I woke up!! I really wanted to go back to that dream, but I have never dreamt about it again. OH well

Look what I got last night :)
by misanthropic inhe's 7 weeks old, he's a chocolate lab and i named him tony.
his eye isn't messed up it just looks that way because i was trying to get his face to look forward while i pushed the button all at once.
he kept me up all night last night crying, but hopefully just like with my beagle he will outgrow that.

Your lab puppy is so cute. We have a yellow lab which you can see in my avatar. He is ten now so he has calmed down a lot. He still loves to swim in our pool though! We didn't give him much formal training but we were lucky he is very good natured , never barks except when the doorbell rings and he thinks everyone is his best friend!!

Driving the 401 at any time of the day is a busy ride and a challenge. Im happy you are challenging this officer who was obviously suffering from personal problems of his own. At a time when the 401 is plagued with truck rolloveers and other serious crashes several times a week now, the officer should have had better things to do with his time- like the idiots who weave in and out of traffic and race down the highway. The 401 is turning into a serious deathtrap and I hate driving on it.
I heard on the news that trucks will be enforced to new slower speed limit, lower than other passenger vehicles, which will be nice. I hope they enforce it. It terrifies me when they come barreling down behind you and force you to move out of their way.
And true also, the police are the some of worst offenders of speeding. Many times I am driving in a school zone where the speed limit is 50 and a cop car will blast past me going 70 or better. He is going no where in particular as he stops at the next stop light. He just speeds because he can and we can't!!!

As a teen dub I was friends with a girl called Candy Kane.
My father never believed in second names , He thought they were a waste of time. He and his sisters weren't given second names and my sisters and I never were given second names. People would never believe me when I said I had no second name. They always thought I must have a name that I didn't want anyone to know. I gave all my kids a second name because I always wished I had a second name..

Posting Here: secretly or openly?
by AllAlongTheWatchtower injust curious, how many of you have to hide the fact that you post here from family?
i'm especially thinking of those with spouses who are in, while they themselves either never were, faded, dfed/daed, etc but if you are a child hiding it from parents, that applies too.
if you are posting secretly, how secretive do you have to be?

My husband and I both left the jws organization together 20 years ago. The only one left in our family who is a dedicated dub is my husbands mother. She has never shunned us for leaving, in fact when we told her we were leaving she told us that we "take being a jw too seriously". Well she is one who always was a loyal dub but has lots of worldly friends and pretty much did what she wanted anyways. Her husband was a elder until the day he died. So.. sorry for the ramble,, but I don't have to hide and regularly show my husband what I learn here. We both are happy to know we really made the right decision for us and our kids when we officially left years ago.

FLUFF: Richie's Beach Trip Photos
by RichieRich ini went to the beach last weekend, and it was a rather enjoyable time.
naturally i took tons of pictures, and went with friends who have the same inclination.. so, for your viewing pleasure and enjoyment, here's richie's beach trip.. driving down took about 4 hours, and after about 2, we had listened to every song we've ever liked, and played every road game we could remember.. .
after arriving, we got straight to the business of enjoying ourselves, and cameras stayed packed for the duration of the evening.

I believe there is a spirit world that stays connected to the living world . I think the energy of life is too powerful to disappear and our energies live on somehow at least for a while after we pass away. Sometimes these spirits try to connect to loved ones still living...but I don't believe any of them would hurt us.. they haven't yet anyways..
