Its seems to be all personal perspective as far as I can see.. If you believe Jesus died for our sins.. then I guess he did.. If you think it is all a bunch of crock.. then I guess he was just some crazy guy who lived years ago and died for some crazy ideas...we can debate this until the cows come home...and agree to disagree.....

How long did it take you to get over it?
by AK - Jeff inone of the posters here - before i knew she was a poster here - in fact before i knew of this site at all, sent me an email early on in my exit.
she likened the whole leaving thing with grieving over a dead loved one - said it took most about two years to work thru all the phases of that loss - denial, anger, etc.. i think she had it about right - that's about how long it took me.
but without jwd it would have been longer.

WE had already been fading a year before we officially disassociated ourselves..and we had made some great "worldly" friends so..we really had no problems moving on.. My family were not JWS.. except for my mom .. but she died 3 years before we left.. It would have been very difficult to leave if she was still alive as she was very staunch JW... We left because we didn't want to raise our kids in JW org.. it wasn't until later when I found this site.. I also realized how twisted the society is in its teachings..

Greetings
by Anomalous One ina warm and friendly hello to all !!.
i've been lurking and learning for a few months.
former elder who drifted away due to congregation hyprocrisy and politics.. went through many of the feelings of inadequacy and/or lack of confidence for a while but the longer i was away the stronger i became.. i'll tell more about myself later but right now i want to thank all of your for sharing your thoughts and comments.. it's truly amazing how bright the light can get when you really learn the truth and get out of the "organization".

Do you believe in perfection?
by LittleToe inif something meets the standard for which it was designed, is that a reasonable definition of perfection?.
like when the first rudimentary wheel was built, and was surely perfect for the job?.

Everyone has a different perspective of what is perfect to them.. and what one person finds perfection.. the other person will surely find fault with it..so.. I guess I believe in perfection as viewed by an individual perspective.. perfection is not universal

Hi unique. ..glad to hear you have made your way out of the org.. but sorry to hear your parents are having a hard time accepting it and are treating you so badly.. As for their circular reasoning.. don't hold that against your parents.. They have been indoctinated so long with circular reasoning from the society.. it is the only way they understand to explain things.. And we all know how JWS are afraid to question anything the GB teaches them.. Maybe with time.. you can get them to see the sense of what you are saying... Hope all goes well with you...

Hi Jgnut.. thanks for the info that the "great crowd" is slowly dwindling and not growing as fast as they would like..The Dubs who have been slugging away for the ministry all these years must be getting worn out waiting for their reward..
anewme...maybe they could just get Prince to write a song about them... don't ya just love Prince...lol

1st post, but not new!
by brother inhello everyone, been browsing the forum for quite a while now(about a year) and decided its time to post.
i'm male, just turned 36 on the first of april, i've been in a the process of fading for about two years now, not that easy having come from a witness family.
i've been in doubt about this religion for most of my life, but finally built up the courage to stop going to the meetings, finding out now how big and beautiful this world is and realizing how much i missed out on "real" life!.....i started to fade about the time i was being pushed, yes pushed into becoming a ms. i did not want to have that duty, and i say duty, not "privelege" as they would say because thats what it is, a duty!
