Yay for the bull!!! I heard it was the most expensive seats that he rampaged through. Who said bovines are dumb?
I think they wound up shooting the poor beast though. Too bad.

on tv news the other day they showed a scene of a bull in a bull ring jump into the seating area and maul the blood thirsty crowd.
i tell yah, when i saw it jump into the crowd i was cheering for the bull as it thumped away at its persecutors.
well they came for blood and the got it, not quite the way they had anticipated but it was a crowd pleaser all the same.

yes i'm new to this forum and i have been searching the net and reading with interest peoples comments here and on other sites.
as most know reaching out as a faithfull jw to others outside of the congregation is difficult at first ,as i guess we think anyone outside the congregation is wordly etc.
and we can't open up easily to "strangers" as jehovah would not approve.
Hi Wuzadummy. Welcome to the board. I'd love to hear your experiences.

144,000 a "theillogical" evaluation
revelationits grand climax at hand!.
chap.
I think "theillogical" sums it up pretty well. In fact, it sums up all the WTS teachings.

sorry i know it comes up again and again, but darn it, i can't find it!
i am looking for one of the sites that have only watchtower quotes in it.
did they all get shut down?
Great anti-witnessing, Sheepish! I hope they come back for more.

as a devout jehovah's witness, mrs. merle is prohibited from celebrating her birthday.
but a week from tomorrow, relatives and friends will flock to the camoset village country living mobile home park in johnstown to attend a super bowl party that just happens to feature ice cream and cake.. "that's why we're calling it a super bowl party," explained her son bob merle, 73, who lives just five trailers down the road.
"we don't celebrate birthdays, but we have to celebrate 100 years," said mrs. mechem, 78.
JWs have gotten really good at celebrating without celebrating. I wonder if they would've df'd her if she called it what it was, a birthday party.

did ya miss me??
hehehe, you guys probably didn't even know i was gone, but i figured i'd start a new topic to get myself back into the swing of things and let everyone know what i've been up to these past couple of weeks since i've posted.. let's see, it's a new semester, i'm back into my school routine once again and trying desperately to love it, but hey, university gets a little old after a while (this is my third year here) and right now, i just wish i was finished so i could go and make something of myself.
but i'm getting close to the end, just one year left!!
Welcome back.

before coming on this forum i didn't know that the jws had changed the generation definition from literal to symbolic and i obviously predicted that this religion will be finished when that last 1914 codger dies.
when i found out that they had changed their definition i thought, bloody hell this religion is going to go on forever.
then i thought that no, they are going to fade out, then i settled on, they are going to survive just like the catholics and orthodox.
TallTexan, you're right on. Occasionally they'll even admit that they don't like to think. An elder and his wife went and worked on an international building project for awhile. When they came back we went over for a visit and heard all their stories. One comment that stuck in my head was made by his wife. "It was so nice, I didn't even have to think." She really enjoyed being told what to do and when to do it.

Welcome! I really don't know if that's possible. I've never heard of it being done. Some here are toying with the idea of having their baptisms annulled. There's a thread here somewhere talking about it. But since you're already df'd, I don't think even that would help you.
Hope someone can help you out.

Most of the JWs I knew never really understood the teachings anyway. They just committed words to short term memory. After the meeting was over, they couldn't remember a single word that was said.
Example: One time we missed a Sunday meeting because of work. We were invited to a sister's place for dinner right after the meeting was over. (Which coincided with when we were finished work). A MS had just given his first public talk. She said, "He gave a wonderful talk." I asked her what the talk was about. She said she couldn't remember the title. I asked her what the subject was. She couldn't remember. But he used some good illustrations. Couldn't remember them either. It turned out that the only thing she could remember was that he had a new tie and had parted his hair differently. This was not a dummy. She was a very successful business-woman.
And the ones who did remember some things had it all garbled. Most of the time "new light" went right over their heads. They never even noticed the difference. And couldn't care less when it was pointed out to them. Like everyone says, it was just a routine.

welcome leftbelow - don't be nervous - you are among a cool crowd who are interested in what you have to say and think.
