And what about the principle that Jesus laid out in Luke 12:47,48 that the person who knows better will receive the worst punishment and the person who didn't know better will receive a lighter punishment?
The whole story is such an obvious fairy tale. It certainly isn't based on anything that could be even remotely called justice.

"But what do i tell the friends?"
by zack inso three weeks ago my wife and i had an emotional discussion wherein i finally told her that this religion was not the truth.
there was much emotion, a chill has ensued in our relationship.
(i haven't been to a meeting in 4 months now, and have not reported time in two months) i am sure many of you know the drill.. towards the end of our conversation, she asks: but what do i tell the friends when they ask about you?.

A few months into our fade the P.O. got my husband on the phone and asked that very question. He said, "tell them to 'live quietly, work hard with their hands and mind their own business'." They didn't try that approach again.

Just want to show you what we saw...
by Merry Magdalene inthe end of may my daughter and i were walking an overgrown path to the river, going to take pictures of each other in the wild roses, when we saw this--right at the edge of the path:.
"mommy, look," she said.
"oh no," i thought.

Meddling with a fawn is the worst thing you can do. As was pointed out, they are born with very little scent which helps them escape the notice of predators. (i.e. dogs running loose) If you pet it, you transfer your scent onto it and make it vulnerable to attack.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Merry. It sure lifts the heart.

Another update.
by R.F. injust wanted to fill you all in on what's been going on with me lately....... well it's been about a month and a half and i've been to 2 congregation meetings within that time span.
i've gotten no calls from any of the elders accept two, and they might've called twice each at the most, but it does seem like they're inquiring about me through another person at the moment.
but either way, i feel im on the right track with fading, and i really don't care about what the elders think anymore, or any other jw for that matter.. my dad who was on my case hard at first has backed off.

Great update, R.F. Don't write the letter, they'll remove you sooner or later.

Outa here
by snarf init seems you have to be of the "popular crowd" on this forum to express feelings and views.
as i am not of this crowd, i have recently recieved alot of not so friendly comments and p.m.s from people who seem to think they need to put me in my place.
it is funny how some people can express their views and opinions and everyone still loves them.

I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving, snarf. I haven't had much time lately and haven't kept up on all the threads, so I've missed your comment and any mentions to it.
(((hugs)))

which celebrity death....?
by nowisee injust heard about the death of joel siegel, the entertainment critic for abc, and found myself, surprisingly, in tears.
maybe it was because he had such a young son and made plans to let him know how much he was loved, long before he died.
maybe because i have watched him for so many years.

James Herriot. He's the only "famous" person I've ever grieved for.

by juni inwelcome to the forum!
excellent first "thread" about jws and the use of blood.
it is amazing isn't it how they put out these "doctrines" and then give the disclaimer, " but do according to your conscience.
