tonight was the school/service meeting at the kh, and myself and dedpoet drove there at the end of the meeting to see the po.
we didn't go in the hall, we just waited outside the gates for the po to come out, then i handed him my letter, saying it was to get things over with and save the necessity of a jc.
he didn't ask what it was, i think he knew, especially when he saw dp give me the thumbs up sign, but asked me to reconsider, but i said my mind is made up, i am leaving, and i want it out in the open as soon as possible.
Congratulations. I hope everything just gets better and better for you.

maybe it's just me, but it seems like lot's of people have begun enunciating "str" as "schtr.".
almost as if they have a flattened tongue, that waggles back and forth in their (pardon me for my politically incorrect indiscretion) "texan" jowls.. it happens all the time on cnn...golfballs in the mouth: "a schtrong hurricane.".
local channels in oregon: "it's gonna be a schtrong storm tomorrow.".
My husband has noticed the same thing. It doesn't sound right. I don't think anybody in this area pronounces tree as "chree".
I think the quality of speech on TV and radio has degraded substantially.

imagine the new system where "everybody" is perfect...... people with no faults.... this sounds almost dull to me !!!
i find that there is something attractive about imperfect people, imperfect actions, .
huey lewis lyrics.
Perfect is a very subjective word. Everyone has a different idea on what "perfection" is. It's a term we use all the time for all sorts of things. What's perfect for me might not be perfect for you.

i think there is one verse in the bible, if properly understood would, i believe, definitely make all christians better people.
mark 9:47 and if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out.
which i take to me, if you find something offensive in the world, change your own mind about it, rather than trying to change it.
I think there are a couple of more straight-forward verses that "Christians" should take to heart. It would make them better and happier people.
Proverbs 27:22 "Though you grind a fool in a mortar, grinding him like grain with a pestle, you will not remove his folly from him." NIV
1 Thessalonians 4:11 "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you," NIV
In other words, quit trying to change the world. Except, perhaps, by example.

i have been thinking about my late mother today, ( it would have been her b'day) and i am feeling a bit upset over the fact that i no longer have a beautiful old wooden table that she gave me before she passed away.
this piece of furniture was one of the first items that she bought when we emmigrated from the uk to aus' and she had bought it 2nd hand.
i loved that table but i got rid of it on the insistance of the 2 women i was studying with as they told me it had demons in it!
One of the more extreme cases I've heard about involved vegetables. A "worldly" relative kindly gave a JW some fresh vegetables. Well, the family couldn't eat the vegetables because they were "demonized". So, they fed them to the pig. Which they later butchered and ate. My question is, if the veggies were demonized, wouldn't the pig then be demonized? This particular "sister" was an absolute nutter.

i was a born in jw.
i suppose i could best be described now as an athiest.
i have a hard time understanding how someone can figure out the jw scam and then become a born again christian.
I wasn't born into it. Even the thought of connecting to another religion gives me the creeps. No thank you.

i was looking around the internet, trying to locate an image of god's chariot to show someone, and i found this little place here.
it's...interesting.
as far as i can tell from poking around there seems to be a mix of the faithful, the inactive, and the disfellowshiped (like myself).
Hello Klinton. Welcome to the board.
