What an ordeal! I also think that a letter to the newspaper would be a good thing.
Hope you get feeling better soon.

what a day.
i was out gallavanting around - buying one thing here another there and finally heading home.. the chair hit a bump and the front wheel broke off sending me flying with the chair landing on top of me.
personally i think it was a temper tantrum designed to let me know they were tired and wanted to ride me for a while.. i had just passed a man sitting on a bench waiting for the bus and he rushed right over to help.
What an ordeal! I also think that a letter to the newspaper would be a good thing.
Hope you get feeling better soon.

i'm "alpheta".
i've been reading here for the past few weeks, but have visited from time to time over several years.. short history, i started studying in 1993, was baptised in 1996, and succinctly and with much planning disassociated myself in october, 2003.. i don't believe i have any lasting psychological damage or issues, but i was curious about the state of the wtbts (or whatever they go by these days), and i found your site and a lot of information that, i have to say, i found shocking at first like - oh my goddess, they really did that?
- kind of thing.. anyway, nice to have read your posts and i really enjoy the sense of community here.
Hi Alpheta. Glad you found us. Welcome.

do you find yourself scanning the posts of new ones here hoping in the back of your mind that it's a friend or relative who has finally "seen the light"?.
there are several people i am always watching for.... my best friend from high school, the only friend i was allowed to have since she was the only girl my age in the kh.
and my brothers... extremely bright and intelligent guys, but very wrapped up in gaining my fathers and the congregations approval.
Anyone I used to know. The closest I've come to it is a few posters here who knew some of the people that we knew.

watchtower august 1st 1953 page 458.
'hence starting with the congregational study of this issue of the magazine, the conductor may call on persons whether they volunteer or not'.
i never saw this happen at my meeting.
I've had it happen to me. Not in the Watchtower study, although I've seen it happen during the Watchtower study. Usually the brother conducting would call on a family member or a friend that they knew would answer. If you didn't know the answer you just answered, "don't know". Usually to laughter. I don't imagine knowing the answer would be a problem these days, originality in questions or answers is discouraged.

it's been a while but here we are again with some notes of a wine that, ever seeking a fresh taste, has been chosen this month.. this month's selection came about on the occasion of the world cup final.
i was going to visit a bar (at 4 in the morning!!
) where the match was shown on a large screen.
Well, thank you everyone. I feel better about opening that bottle now. It's a "Little Penguin". I have a bottle of "Jacob's Creek" shiraz, too. Plain shiraz though. I prefer red wine, but white shiraz sounded interesting. I've never seen a sparkling shiraz. Is there really one?
I'd like to see a list of recommended wines from Australia that are export also.
