interesting question,if demons had children by women,how did they impregnate the women?.

I find the accounts of demon possesion in the Bible contradictory to what Jude and Peter write about the demons being in Tarturus, restrained under dense darkness.

What kind of a restraint is it when they possess and harrass human beings?

Also, if you take everything literally written in the Bible, it is clearly spirit creatures which screwed up humanity. A spirit creature deceived Eve who then brings forth sin and death to ALL HUMANS!

Spirit creatures took human bodies and fathered Nephilim who filled the Earth with voilence so God destroyed ALL THE HUMANS!!!----- but the demons escaped.

Then the demons, although in chains, somehow manage to possess human bodies, serve as protectors of kingdoms, challenge righteous angels over the body of Moses, etc.... and

then Paul says humans have a wrestling not with flesh and blood but with the wicked spirit forces!!! Aren't they in jail? Did they get paroled? And WHY do humans

pay the price for the trouble these guys stirred up?

The more you think of it, the more like Greek mythology it sounds, from Zeus to Prometheus, to Hercules---- Son of a God and a mortal and possessing super human strength.

Love And Marriage Was The Watchtowers Way An Advantage?

love and marriage was the watchtowers way an advantage?the thought of one man and woman bonded through matrimony was always appealing.

the society used to stress chaperons, however, i think in todays day and age.

however, did the societys way prove helpful in certain respects?.

The Watchtower wants loyalty to it first and then to your marriage mate. It knows no bounds. It also creates a wholly unrealistic role for both husband and wife.

If either of them fail to live up to Watchtower demands, then they are seen as failing in their "God-given" role. This leads to stress and unhappiness in a marriage.

These people are evil, man, evil.

Also, where in the Bible does it say a couple in a committed relationship HAVE to be married to have sex? Marriage wasn't the sacrament it is today until the Church (yes, that

Blood transfusions, lying, and God's laws - an epiphany

we all know about "theocratic war strategy" - it's not really lying, if the person you are speaking "isn't entitled to know the truth".

but, it suddenly struck me - this definition of lying, unique to jws (lying is not merely telling a known untruth, but telling such to one who doesn't deserve the truth) helps them justify the blood doctrine.

well, consider the extreme example cited in the old wts bold enough to actually name & describe "theocratic war strategy" - a country where jws are under ban.

I agree, the subtlety is lost on most witnesses because they have been conditioned to accept without question. Also, most people reason that needing a transfusion

is something that won't happen to them. It's very disturbing when a religion "redefines" a standard of conduct to suit it needs. Lying is lying, stealing is stealing. Everything

has a degree to it and not all of it is bad. Lying is not bad all the time. Stealing is not bad in every instance. What creates the exception is the motivation and the end achieved. As you

said, the greater good. With the WTS the motivation is manipulation and control. They have thought it all through. It's what they do.

Why the WT Society will never sponsor a charity

the wt society has convinced jw's that they are the one true religion and everyone who is not a jw will be destroyed at armageddon.

in the mind of a jw any poor or homeless person who does not become a jw will be killed at armageddon anyway- so, why waste their money on a soup kitchen when everyone in it is just going to be killed at armageddon anyway?

now, if the wt society should ever sponsor a charity for the poor they would be saying in essence to jw's, that the end is not around the corner and maybe jw's are not the only ones who god might look favorably upon.

This is plainly one more reason why the WTS ORG. cannot be Christian, because they do not do christian works. Helping the needy, the poor, the down and out, are all

hallmarks of a faith based on love and charity. The WTS teaches selfishness and self centeredness. It squelches the charity in a person's heart. It extinguishes the

natural human inclination of reaching out and helping. "I want mercy, not sacrifice" is a scripture they long deleted from the Bible.

I'll tell this, since we are dealing with charity:

A couple of years ago I gave a talk at a cong. about an hour's drive from our home and afterwards the cong. treated my wife and I to lunch, the so called "hospitality."

As we were leaving the restaurant, this deaf-mute man asked us for some money. He was dirty, his clothes looked like they came out of a dumpster, he was thin as a rail.

I, being trained to avoid those of this ilk, told him to get away from me and walked out to our vehicle. As I turned the key in the ignition I was overcome by a deep sense of

shame. Here I was in my new SUV, wearing nice clothes and kid gloves on my hands (it was winter) with my belly full of free food, a minister of God who just finished

preaching to a congregation about love and forgiveness and mercy, and I had not taken the time to even acknowledge this person as a human being. How can I be a minister,

a christian, and just brush this man aside, who obviously had some handicaps? I got out of my SUV, reached deep in my pockets, and went back and found this man.

When he saw that I came back towards him his face lit up. And when he saw that I had something for him, his eyes welled up. The look he gave me pierced my heart. The

humility he displayed when thanking me made me feel even smaller.

None of the witnesses who had taken my wife and I to lunch thought twice about brushing past this man. I admit that it was shame that prompted me. I reasoned

later that it was proper to have been ashamed of behaving like I had. I admitted to myself that I had become a hypocrite. And as long as I remained a Witness I would be

a hypocrite, for there was no room for acts of charity and kindness towards strangers. Human beings have human needs and no amount of preaching will ever substitute for

a tangible kindness.

What never sat right with me was the assertion that Jehovahs protcts protects his people as a group but not as individuals. What THE HELL kind of protection is that?

Blondie, thanks for the review. I walked out of the meeting at the middle song cause I couldn't stomach another hour of this dishonesty.

The many ways Jehovah's Witnesses harm children

was talking with my therapist this morning and i made the comment "i guess i don't mind if she is a witness as long as it doesn't harm the kids.

" this got me thinking about all the ways that being raised as witnesses harms or can harm children.

1) teaches children to have an air of superiority regarding other human beings.

Being raised in the truth I appreciate and can identify with every comment. But when it was said that you always feel like you are teetering on the edge of something,

well, that really hit home. As a child i was ALWAYS waiting for the other shoe to drop. Now I know it was this religion. The leaders are truly hateful.

Of the congregation I was in as a child in 1975, the ENTIRE servant body had left the org. by 1980. Many families I knew left the org. I wish my family had been one of them.

atrocities happen all the time.

student mass murders, genocides, the ozone layer, the environment------you name it----it all points to what witnesses assert as proof that this means we're living in the "last days of the last days".

how would you respond to such ones?.

The JW ORG. are led by essentially lazy people. The reasons they want the world to end is not so that righteousness rules and those little starving kids in Ethipoia get a decent shake at a good life. No. What they want is for the world to end so they don't have to take any responsibilty for their own futures.

I think the dubs will contribute, at least those that already do. What I think may be a nightmare is an accounts servants handing out receipts for the

$5 dollar donations. Also, I think this new rule may be challenged if religious groups' donations fall off. Gifts of mercy should be secret, and many believers adhere

to that principle. The IRS rule will be offensive many.
