Why the excuse, "we are theocratic"?

the wts claim to be theocratic when really they are a dictatorship .when ever did they consult the rank and file and why do so many followers accept blindly their pronouncements.maybe it's because of fear or perhaps just plain ignorance.why can't the g.body write to every jw and ask their opinions about forth coming changes to the washtower editions.they could ask individual members by means of a questionaire ; things like, how satisfied are you with the society?

tick one box ",very satisfied", "not very satisfied"," who gives a monkeys".

"always" or "almost always" or " are you peeing down my back or is it raining".another question; the statement millions now living will never die , only tick one box remember , "was true at the time", or" was never true" or "still true today" or " i believe whatever , do i look bothered".. last question ; because we are tax exempt and a charity case what is the the most humanitarian act do you think we have carried out?

Not to be argumentative, but basically "Theocracy" is "rule by god" , "government by a deity." In JW land, they claim to be part of the "Theocracy", rule by Jehovah, and are thus theocratic. Since no man sees God, and since they claim that Jesus himself returned "invisibly", Jesus then appoints them to rule "visibly" in his place. Theocracy is from the top down. Theocracy is a dictatorship, just not one of a secular individual(s), but by individual(s) who claim to be the exclusive representatives of the "theos"-- God. They equate any questioning, any dissidence, any disastisfaction with them(the reps. of the theos) as rebellion against God. It's a pretty good racket.

ya know those days when you know you should have stayed in bed?.

i had to go to the grocery store, as i was walking in i noticed a man and a woman behind me and both were looking at my butt.. it's a nice butt but usually doesnt get much attention.

i resisted the urge to brush the back of my pants off till they were inside and out of sight... i did and didnt feel anything... later on in the store i got that " feeling" that somene was behind me.. turned around and a woman was looking at my butt.

instead of ingnoring the knock, i decided to answer.

with fixed smiles on their faces, one of the ladys offer me a flyer concerning the district convention.

They'll probably recount the experience at your door at a Circuit Assembly. Perhaps the angels directed them to not come back to your door. The door NEXT to your's, that's where they'll have found a "deserving one." All well rehearsed, of course.

did any of your prayers ever get answered while being a jw even if they where small maybe insignificant?

pesonnally i never really needed my prayers to be answered but one time while the co visited us i was going to work with him durining saturady service i get there at 0930 but service started at 0900. i felt i missed my chance to work with him and show i was commited and i wanted to asked him how i can reconcile the fact i did not believe that noah's flood existed globally with the way the society views it.

i left the kingdom hall pissed off thinking i fu*ked things up, so i kinda said to jah well i messed up gettin some clarity to to my quandry.

some bible passages i can vaguely remember reading as child without the borg blinders on.

this would usually happen after a speaker introduced a single "proof text" verse in a talk and then i'd keep on reading in the bible instead of staying in sync with the borg software download.

The leaders of this religion have always appealed to the base desire of survival and "spiritual" greed. They have taught their followers that the "reward" of God is a nice house that someone else will build for you and gardens, and lemonade and pet lions, etc..... The "doing of good to others" in never emphazised---- unless, of course, you're giving your money to the WTS. They are IDENTICAL to the religious leaders of Jesus day. Not that they are alone in this, but I beleive they are highly reprehensible in that they claim such exclusivity in mission and in adherence to themselves.

These guys are evil, man. Evil.

Whether history or allegory, did Satan REALLY challenge the Soveriegnty of God? Certainly any spirit being in the company of the Almighty would have no doubt of who the boss was.

Did Satan challenge the rightfulness of that soveriegnty? He told Eve that she wouldn't die that day and that God knew that. Well, she didn't die that day or year or century. He told Eve her eyes would be opened and they would become like God. Well, her eyes were opened and God Himself says (to paraphrase) that they have become like one of us, knowing both good and bad. Where is the challenge to God's Sovereignty or rightfulness? I could never understand it, but as an elder I sure did explain it many times.

There are far more questions with thousands of possible answers that the WTS distills into a thrid grade math problem. They do no one, especially God, any justice. They fell a compunction to defend God, as if He weren't able to defend Himself. And instead of looking to JesusChrist to even begin to understand God (as theChristians they CLAIM to be) they keep looking to dead Hebrews for answers.

for most of my 30 years in the 'truth' (age 12-42 thereabouts) i have always doubted many many things taught from the watchtower.

however like many if not most of those brought up in it i got swallowed up in the whole social side of it.

bringing up children in it i told myself that it wasn't such a bad life after all.

You wouldn't drink a glass of your favorite beverage if there was even one drop of poison in it, would you? The JW's loved that question when strking down other religions. The same applies to them.
