New RBC arrangements/directives
by bud2114 ini joined awhile back and haven't posted much - just lurking like many others.
for the past year or so i have been trying my best to fade away sooner rather than later, but the wife and most of our family have decades of involvement in this mess and well, it's difficult.
little by little i have been sowing seeds of doubt and it does seem to be working somewhat.

The RBC arrangement has changed and they have been given some more responsibility. For instance, they have been told to enforce the safety and maintenance audit conducted yearly at the Kingdom Halls in the US Branch. One reason for this is that the WTS is self-insured. They want the RBC to make sure any negligence issues are minimized.
As for spending money: A congregation can do whatever it wants on its KH if it does two things: 1) Keeps the labor pool to within the brothers that meet at that hall 2) use their own money and borrow none from the society.
Since the BOE's are composed of mainly company men who can not find their own asses without first consulting the FDS, as soon as there is any talk about construction of any type, they will pick up the phione and call the RBC. Once that happens, the RBC is going to control things. Once they control things, a royal clusterfuc* is gauranteed. These are the same people who will rule the world. Sure they will.

When was Jesus born?
by Anti-Christ inthe wt always put a lot of importance on the subject that jesus was not born the 25 of dec. now my question is why is there two different stories in the bible about jesus birth?
in luke 2 there is one story and in matthew there is an other.
in luke it says that jesus was born during a census when quirinius was governing syria but in matthew it says that he was born when herod the great was still alive.

As an elder, I have had other elders confide things here and there, but never actually cross the line of apostatedom. I do have a very close friend who is still an elder who knows that it's all BS, but will never give up being elder. He has never SAID it, but it's how he feels.

Seriously, the amount of busy work the Branch gives the congregation is appalling. Correspondence. Audits. Lit. orders. More correspondence. The CO calling cause he needs something done on his apartment. Correspondence for more money. Correspondence re legal issues, holding meetings off site, insurance, maintenance of the hall. Co visits. Appointents. Endless lists of bullshit to circulate.
NOTHING ever about developing a richer life. NOTHING ever about being a better person. NOTHING ever about helping the needy, the poor, the old. NOTHING.
The ORG. uses and abuses. The smart elders get out while they're still sane.

My problem with the 'No Beard" stance was the dishonesty of the justification. That's because the religion pride's itself on not having "rules" like other religions or the pharisees.
But in order to maintain order and walk in lockstep like a theocratic army (which the WTS has likened itself to) the org. needs rules. So why can't they bring themselves
to just be honest and say: "Look. This is the way we want it. It has no basis in scripture, but it is how we wish to project ourselves." But no! They have to go on and on
about all this other BS which has NOTHING to do with anything. And the going on and on, the justificatios, the rationalizations ad infinitum, is what ALWAYS rubbed
me the wrong way. Why can't they be honest and upfront? Now i know why. They are incapable of honesty, because honesty takes humility and the leadership has
never possessed humility. And if even in something so little and inconsequential as wearing your own facial hair they can prove dishonest and disingenueos, how can they
be trusted with the consequential things? The life and death matters? According to their own Bible, they CAN"T.
These guys are evil, man. EVIL.

Okay, the movie was scary. But goodnight, it was a MOVIE! The WTS hates anything that is even remotely entertaining. As for demon possession, how do they do it? The Bible says God has reserved them for judgement with ETERNAL BONDS. So God put them in prison with chains, so to speak. So the ones that possess people somehow managed to escape? What happened to the jailer angel? Did he get a transfer? Religion is all about fear and the WTS loves it.

by oompa ine-mailing back and forth for days about the qb, and he only told me today that he had not even noticed anything new or different about this material until i had brought it up.
he says it would be "absurd" to think the fds mean all literature and web sites other than the wt ones are not to be used for anything, but that the context of the article needs to be taken into consideration.
that the context is key.
