  The Folly of Calculating the Date of the End from the Bible

  i have seen various ways of calculating dates from the bible.

  the one the tower uses is the seven times, based on incorrect lengths of the year and faulty dates.

  however, i have been seeing various posts right here on this forum (i will not mention any names since all i want is to expose the folly of predicting the end, not start or continue a flaming war).. i have been seeing calculations based on the number of books in the bible.

  My time inside the WTS (I was born in) was spent on the focus of its leaders: DEATH and DESTRUCTION of the WORLD. It is a psychology I am not trained

  to explain, but I think it precedes their fixation with dates and predictions. I know it was very damaging for me and for many others to fixate so intensely on a date

  of the "END" becasuse it meant an "end" to us as well. Time was always "running out" on my life.

  I used to beleive they were sick. Now I am just convinced they are evil and have been all along.

  Even NEWER LIGHT on Generation doctrine???

  hello friends,.

  i heard from a "brother" whose daughter is in bethel, that his daughter told him that there will be 'new light" released in january pertaining to "adjustments in understanding" of the generation doctrine.. does anybody know what this may be about?

  or what the change might be?.

  If this is true and the change come out in print in the JW only version of the WT, I think many people on the fence will finally get the picture. I know I will be able to use it to my advantage with my wife.

  A Change in the Generation teaching, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  just wondering if anybody else has heard of a change of the generation teaching again and a change in some of the parables, this was heard by a friend of mine from a couple that was entering gilead(puke) and by a c.o.

  just wondering if anybody else has caught wind of this, or if has been written in the new witness only wt.

  I love it too! My JW wife went to the TMS/Service meeting tonight and here i am on JWD not only reading a critique of this Sundays WT article, but previewing a major JW

  item!

  As for the, "Are you worthy" questions: Hell, no. The whole point of the ransom is that NO ONE is worthy. These guys are evil!

  currently, congregations in the us might have an average of less than 5 elders each.

  a large number of elders are debilitated by age or chronic illness.

  in addition, i knew of many elders.

  first of all i would like to think everyone for the support i recieved yesterday.

  i would also like to shed some light on my past, hopefully this does not give it away as to who i might be.

  my wife and i were both raised as jw, we were both baptized when were fifteen years old.

  I'm sorry about the situation. However, ditch the wife. You can't trust her. If she turned on you and LEFT you, the children and the house, there is nothing to salvage. Make peace with it and move on.

  i think you have to wonder if the watchtower society has degenerated to the point where they don't.

  even bother to research the bilge they print and they just make up whatever gets them by.. what did jesus mean by "this generation"?
