My friend wants no part of JW's or Christians or any other religion for that matter. She said that she wasted her life waiting for Armaggeddon and then the Rapture when she became born-again. She said religious people are living in a "dream-world" waiting for something that is not going to come. She believes that Jehovah and Jesus are getting a good laugh at guilable people on earth believing in a fantasy. What could I say to my friend? Is she right about people believing in a fantasy?

Can JW's use Pluto's "aborted" Planethood to prove their "new light".

She said that when JW's make a correction in viewpoint people call them false prophets. But when anybody else make changes they are honored for admitting they were wrong. She also use Doctors and the Medical profession as another example. Doctors had one time taught that Aids was only a "Gay Man's" disease but when "heterosexual start getting Aids they realized it was from blood and bodily fluids. Doctors have gone back and forth on Breast Cancer and what causes it, but people still run to their Doctors. Have anybody else heard an outrageous comparison for the New light doctrine.

I think Apostates become like crooked police officers that are trying to get rid of drug dealers and plant drugs in their cars just to get an arrest. Apostates seem to act the same way. I have been an ex-jws for many years and alot of the stuff Apostates come up with are true such as the UN scandal, Child Abuse in the congos and date setting by the WTS. But alot of stuff is just manufactured lies to prove their case against the WT. Tell the truth at all times Apostates don't start doing things you accuse JW's leaders of doing like bending the truth. Jesus said it best the truth will set you free.

I work with a young woman in her mid-thirties that is openly lesbian. We have been friends for about 10 years when she first started working at the company. I was crazy about her before she came out as "gay" and I still have a good time working with her. The problem is that she is constantly talking about women in a sexual way. At first I thought she was trying to accept herself as gay when she first came out 5 years ago but now I am getting a little tired of it. Every time I see her she is talking about sleeping with this woman and going out with that woman. She is worse than some of my male co-workers talking about their sexual conquests. My friend is a very nice girl but I wonder why she feels the need to talk to me all the time about lesbianism. I am a straight man and I don't discuss my romantic life with my co-workers. Some of the female co-workers are threating to write her up to the supervisor but I don't won't my friend to get into any trouble. I have tried to tell her to tone down speech but it falls on a deaf ear. And the first thing she will shout is that co-workers are "homophobic". What should I do avoid her or try once again and talk to her?

Didn't JW's do the "updating" thing with the Babylon book like the Rev book

i was a teenager but i remember studying the book again in the 80's and some jw's were upset by the changes.
if they do the same thing with the revelation grand climax book aren't they afraid that those oldtimers might get disgusted and leave the org?

Maybe some of the oldtimers might remember, but I seem to remember in the early 1980's that the WTS "updated" the Babylon the Great book where many of the old light was thrown out. I was a teenager but I remember studying the book again in the 80's and some JW's were upset by the changes. If they do the same thing with the Revelation Grand Climax book aren't they afraid that those oldtimers might get disgusted and leave the org? I think that they are going to shoot themselves in the foot if they expect JW's to keep accepting "new light" at a drop of a hat. What is going to happen 20 years from now when all of the Rev book prophecies fail to come to pass. I can see if they just had a few changes for the Rev book but 70 is ridiculous.

i was so confused after reading the appendix in the let your kingdom come book that i actually had a "headache" and put the book down.
the jw's elder wants to come over and study this appendix with me trying to prove the 607 date is right.

He said he is not ashamed or embarrassed to say what he believes and he wishes more christians would tell it like it is and not hide behind "politically correctness". I then asked him if Jehovah is a God of Love how could he torment babies of Jewish parents, babies of JW's, babies of Mormons, babies of 7th day adventist, babies of Budhist parents and so on? He said that it is the parents job to make sure their kid gets saved and if not then just like the babies that died in the flood in Noah's day the same will happen at Armaggeddon and the Rapture. I then ended the discussion with my grand-uncle and told him this is the main reason why I have a problem with christian's belief in hell fire. If Jehovah is going to torment babies then I don't won't to serve a God of Hate. Posters out their what do you believe and please no dancing around the subject like my uncle stated. Do you believe that Jehovah is going to torment babies Yes or No? I don't want any novel for an answer just Yes or No.

Help! My "devout" JW's mom is "pioneering" at age 76 on a cane.
by booker-t inposters i have tried "everything" to show my mom that the wts is full of beans but she just won't budge.
i have heard through some non-jw's relatives that my mom who is 76 years old and having alot of problems with her knee is pioneering.
i am so worried about her standing in front of the donut shop or supermarket at 6:00 am.

I am so worried about her standing in front of the donut shop or supermarket at 6:00 am. It is very dangerous for a man nowadays to be out on the streets so early let alone an elderly woman using a cane. She has a folding chair she carries with her and sits down when her leg starts to hurt. I think the WTS is "abusing" the elderly JW's into going in field service and placing a "guilt" trip on them. What can I say to her that will make her see she is being "abused"? I her eyes I am an "apostate" so the elders have already "warned" her not to "speak" to me. But she still "sneak" talk to me on occasions but does not talk about "spiritual things". I just worry my mom might get "robbed" or attacked out in field service so early. Should I just keep my mouth shut or insist on helping her. She runs to the elders about everything she does.

Would a "devout" JW's not go to a DF'd/DA'd child's funeral?

if a "devout" jw's df'd/da'd child suddenly died would that jw's go to the funeral?
i just cannot believe a person can be so cruel or brainwashed as to not attending their own child's funeral.

After reading a post by jwfacts the other day I am wondering how far a "devout" JW's would go to followering the WTS rules on shunning. If a "devout" JW's DF'd/DA'd child suddenly died would that JW's go to the funeral? I just cannot believe a person can be so cruel or brainwashed as to not attending their own child's funeral. Posters what do you think? I do think my "overzealous" JW's brother would not come (god forbid) my funeral because he told me years ago he would not talk to me unless I was in a Kingdom Hall.

What "world coming to an end" dates have Born-Agains set that you know of?

but since leaving the jw's and doing 15 years of "research" on all religions i found out that jw's are not the only ones that have giving false predictions.
the christian church is also guilty of this.

The christian church is also guilty of this. So I am just wondering why so many "ex-jws" that become bac's don't have a problem with born-agains giving false dates, but they are ready to burn JW's and the WTS at the stake for setting dates. I now condemn all groups and religions that "date set". I know alot of born-agains were saying that the year 2000 was going to be the year of the rapture. Many bac's were let down when the year came and went. So I am wondering posters do you know of any other dates that bac's predicted that failed to come to pass?
