I have yet to find a christian that can truly explain the bodily reserrection of Christ doctrine. They become so confused after a few minutes that many of them will try to change the subject on you. I was talking to a born-again co-worker of mine about this very subject and after 15 minutes of going over scriptures he said "you know booker-t I have never really swallowed the bodily reserrection doctrine but this is what my church teaches." After I showed him 1 Pet 3:18 showing that Christ was put to death "in the flesh" but made alive "in the spirit" he tried to explain it away by saying that it should read "by the spirit". I asked him did he know who Ron Rhodes was and after showing him some of Mr. Rhodes books on the JW's, even Ron Rhodes admits that the JW's translation is correct and 1Pet 3:18 should read "in the spirit" and not "by the spirit" the late Walter Martin deceived many christians by trying to say "by the spirit" when he knew it should have read "in the spirit". I even had one staunch "born-again" try and wiggle out of this by saying it should read "by the flesh" and made alive by th spirit". Obviously Peter knew Jesus was put to death by human beings so why in the world would he say by the flesh. Peter was showing that Jesus would be reserrected in a "new body" and no longer will be existing in a fleshly body. That is why he put flesh and body on a contrast or in the dative showing that a change occured. If Jesus had been reserrected in the same body that he died with it would have been useless for Peter to make such a comparison in body types.

Why do "christians" have such a hard time explaining the bodily reserrect?

Do "Apostates/ex-jws" picket their "new" churches if they disagree?
by booker-t init seems that every ex-jws now has so much rage at the wt society for the way they were treated and all of the scandals.
i was wondering though if an "apostate/ex-jws" found disagreement or scandal in their new church would they picket or get on the internet or get on tv warning people about the christian church?
i can answer that question with one word no.

I was wondering though if an "Apostate/ex-jws" found disagreement or scandal in their new church would they picket or get on the internet or get on TV warning people about the Christian church? I can answer that question with one word NO. It seems that when a JW's becomes disgruntle and leaves the WT society they accept anything the churches tell them. It seems like that don't want to make waves or that they feel that they cannot take being deceived by another church. A good scenario would be a battered wife that spent years with an abusive husband and finally leaves. She meets another man and after so much time gets into a relationship with him. But when he becomes a abusive husband she will usually keep quiet because people will start looking at her as the "problem" not her husbands/boyfriends. Apostates/ex-jws are exactly the same way. Nobody put a gun to their heads and made them believe in all of the stuff the WT taught them. I think that is why many stay in a cycle of anger. They are more mad at themselves but it is easier to blame the big bad WT.

Do you know any staunch "Trinitarians" that quit believing in the Trinity?
by booker-t inan elder once told me that to make a trinitarian stop believing in the trinity doctrine is almost like walking against an escalator.
he said it is next to impossible to change their way of thinking no matter what scriptures you show them.
it seems that they are "jesus" franatics and what ever scripture they show you trying to prove jesus is god they totally do a backpedal when a scripture applying to another that can prove godship is always disregarded.

When you show a trinitarian Exodus 7:1 and asked them is Moses a true god or false god I have had trinitarians actually say that Moses is a "false" god instead of admitting that men and angels were call "gods" without it distracting from Jehovah's Godship.

Do you think that JW's will ever get rid of the "1914" doctrine?
by booker-t inwith the year 2014 only 7 years away what are jw's leaders going to say if armaggeddon is not here by then?
how many more changes will have to take place in order for them to keep jw's loyal to the wt society?
my mom just celebrated her 78th birthday on sept 9 and she got baptized in 1967 believing armaggeddon was coming in 1975. i just cry when i think of the elderly jw's that gave their whole lives for the wt believing that armaggeddon was around the corner.

She just seems "beaten" but still clings on the WT. She went to the KH the other day on her Birthday when she could have been having a "party" to celebrate 78 years of existence. I just don't know what I can say to her to make her think away from the WT.

"Trinitarians" who is Jesus Father? God the Father or God the Holy Spirit?
by booker-t inthis is one question that seems to bother trinitarians because according to their definition of the trinity doctrine god the father is not god the holy spirit and god the holy spirit is not god the father.
they are seperate entities existing in one godhead.
but the problem with this is that in the bible the angel told mary that she would become pregnant by the holy spirit not the father.

This is one question that seems to bother Trinitarians because according to their definition of the trinity doctrine God the Father is not God the Holy Spirit and God the Holy Spirit is not God the Father. They are seperate entities existing in one Godhead. But the problem with this is that in the bible the angel told Mary that she would become pregnant by the Holy Spirit not the Father. But nowhere does the bible ever show Jesus calling the Holy Spirit his father. Some trinitarians that I have talked to about this will try and wiggle out of it by saying that God is one and all three persons function to accomplish the same goal. Another response that I have received from "staunch" trinitarians is the "change the subject" approach. They will say "see how can a person become pregnant by a "force"? But we are not talking about whether the Holy Spirt is a person or force I will usually tell them." And then I will ask them How can Satan be the "father of the lie" is "Lie" a person that has Satan for a father and who is "Lie's" mother? All in all trinitarians really do not have an answer for who is Jesus father? They will try and try to throw you off the subject but I persist and make them finally tell me they do not know how to explain it.

The 2006 "updated" Rev Climax book still "denounces" the UN as the beast.
by booker-t ini was recently given a copy of the 2006 revelation climax book by a jw's pioneer woman that i see all the time in front of the bus stop.
we talked for a while and she just handed me a billion books and mags.
i brought up the un scandal to her and she right away went into defense mode.

We talked for a while and she just handed me a billion books and mags. I brought up the UN scandal to her and she right away went into defense mode. She claimed that JW's feel that the UN is the beast of Revelation and will perish at Armaggeddon. She then took me into the book that denounces the UN. I had thought they got rid of that belief that the UN was the beast of Rev since the UN scandal. So do JW's still believe that the UN is "evil"? And what changes were made from the 1988 Rev book compared with the 2006 Rev book. The 2006 Rev book is paperback..

Why are "Born-Agains" distancing themselves from the term "born-again"?
by booker-t ini remember in the 80's all you would ever hear was "i am a born-again christian" or "i am born-again" or jesus, jesus, jesus.
every other word was jesus.
now in the year 2007 born-agains seem to run away from the term "born-again".

Now in the year 2007 Born-Agains seem to run away from the term "Born-Again". If you ask a christian if they are born-again they will sometimes answer your question with another question such as "What do you mean Born-Again"? Or they will sometimes say "I prefer to say I am "Spirit-filled" or sometimes they will say I am just a christian that believes in Jesus". If you notice not one of these are a direct answer to your question. And what really amazes me is how Christians especially on this website, are constantly condemning JW's for doing similar things. If that is not the pot calling the kettle black.

by booker-t inbefore i explain this question let me apologize to any person if this is an "offensive" question but i really am at a lost for an answer.

Before I explain this question let me apologize to any person if this is an "offensive" question but I really am at a lost for an answer. I work with a very nice guy at work and we have worked together for many years. But lately I have to admit I have been alittle "uncomfortable" with some of his behavior. He brings me lunch which I have never asked him to, he started making little "touchey feely" gestures towards me such as he will walk up behind me and start rubbing my shoulders. I never thought of it as he was being "inappropiate" but now I am beginning to wonder. I would hate to "over-react" and possibly ruin a long co-worker/friend relationship. But I have never been hit on by a man so I am at a lost for a "what should I do" answer. Posters any ideals or suggestion would gladly be appreaciated.
