I have always noticed even before I Left the JW's that Born Again Christians will always give other born agains a free pass on wrong doing. I have heard some born agains talk about JW's and Mormons like they have horns and pitchforks for things such as UN scandal, child abuse, false dates, et; but when you hear of a TV evangelist caught in a gay scandal I have not heard one born again complain. Why is this? It seems like a double standard to me when born agains are always condemning others for some of the same things they do. That is why since I left JW's born agains have not impressed me whats so ever. They will smile with you at church on Sunday and then become evil Mon thru Sat. I just don't get it. I think all religions are full of beans and I am convinced that the only way to Jehovah and Jesus is through Jehovah and Jesus. When you have someone tell you that you have to believe in their interpretation of the bible, or you have to believe in the Trinity doctrine or you have to believe in this or that the way they see it I suggest people should just run, run and run.

I am totally confused by Jonah 3 and 4 with the prophecy concerning Niveah's destruction(sorry for the spelling error)
but an elder just kept telling me that Jonah really thought Jehovah was going to punish the people and that is
why Jonah prayed to Jehovah in anger. The elder insist JW's are basically in the same position as Jonah and
that biblical prophets sometimes made errors in their predictions but Jehovah still uses them when they humble
themselves and correct the problem. What do you feel posters is this elder right?

Do ex-jws and anti-jw's born-agains hurt their case when they make up thing
by booker-t ini am the first person to say jw's should be exposed for the flip flops in doctrine, the united nation scandal, the pedophillia cases, and all of the things that they have said and did since charles taze russell started this religion.
but at the same time it makes me angry when i hear or read some things that ex-jw's and apostates print up about jw's.
tell the truth and the truth will set you free jesus christ admonished his disciples and i totally agree.

I have heard ex-jws say that Jehovah's Witnesses worship a head of lettuce, I have heard ex-jws say that JW's don't believe in Jesus, I have heard that JW's condone child molestation which I truly believe the sincere JW's that really believe that they have the truth detest child molestation. There are alot of bad apples in the JW's bunch that will turn their head when they see someone has been abused, but I don't think that this can be said of all JW's and it makes me made when ex-jw's and apostates lump all JW's into this catergory. They do the same thing that they complain JW's do when JW's say that ex-jws are all drug addicts, immoral, drunks, sleeping around, etc; When ex-jws and apostates condemn JW's don't say "all" Jw's do this and that. That is no different if I said "all" white people are "racists" or "all" black people can dance or "all" hispanics speak spanish. I know lots of hispanics that cannot speak a word of spanish, I know some black people that cannot dance if there life depending on it, I know some white people that are very nice and don't show themselves to be racist. I can detect a racist person if I spend one hour talking to them.

Do you "think" that JW's and Born-Agains are "addicted" to religion?
by booker-t ini must admit i never really thought of religion as an addiction until i was reading a story about a girl that was a strict "pentacoastal" and followed all of the rules of the church until she became fed up with it all and left.
and then she went to an even "stricter" church until her therapist told her that going from church to church is like a new "high".
and when you think of some of the lingo that jw's and born agains use it might just as well be considered an addiction.

I have heard born-agains say "drunk with the lord" or "give up everything and go where the need is great" this is a famous JW's comment about a zealous JW. Now I am confinced that the girl that I was reading about was right on the money. Religion is an addiction. What do you poster think about this topic?

by booker-t ini work with a girl that just joined my department at work and i am totally confused by her beliefs.
i thought that jw's were strict but the apostolic holiness church is running neck and neck with the jw's.
this girl i'll call her "betty" says women wearing pants and makeup is a "sin" amounting to burning in hell.

I work with a girl that just joined my department at work and I am totally confused by her beliefs. I thought that JW's were strict but the Apostolic Holiness Church is running neck and neck with the JW's. This girl I'll call her "Betty" says women wearing pants and makeup is a "sin" amounting to burning in Hell. She said that wearing Jewelery is wrong. She can only listen to Gospel Music. R&B, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country etc; is forbidden. She says that her minister looks down on people watching TV or going to the movies. Also getting a Haircut is considered "Worldly". Is this just another cult or is the Apostolics just extreme "legalistic"? The reason I am asking is I find myself walking on eggshells around her and I don't like that feeling. Anybody familiar with the Apostolic Church or is a former member might help enlight me.

The "bodily reserrection of Christ" doctrine again falls apart under Bible.
by booker-t ini had once posted on this board that i have been talking to a born-again christian co-worker of mine on the subject of the bodily reserrection of christ doctrine.
i just cannot believe how satan has totally blinded the minds of people with regards to this doctrine.
i have tried just about everything and showed my co-worker every verse that totally destroys the bodily reserrection of christ doctrine (sometimes called the bodily reserrection doctrine) i know the problem is that born-again christians have to hold onto this doctrine because of another false doctrine they teach the "trinity" to explain away scriptures that clearly show jesus is not and has never been equal to jehovah.

Scriptures that mention Jehovah as "greater" before Jesus died always gets explained away by saying "Jesus was in his human nature" that is why he could say Jehovah is greater than he. But when you show born-agains verses after the reserrection they will resort to the "Jesus was in a body of flesh and bone" that is why Jehovah is still greater than he is 1Cor 15:28, 1Cor 11:3 and others. So really born-agains cannot argue that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever because if they do then they will have to believe that Jesus is capable of dying in heaven with the "same" body he died with on the cross. My co-worker attempted to "wiggle" out of this one by saying that Jesus body is the same but "glorified". But did not Jehovah pour out Holy Spirit on Jesus at his baptism and "Annoited" Jesus. If Jesus has the same body in heaven that he had on earth why would Jehovah have to annoit Jesus and his baptism if he knew Jesus would be glorified? And if Jesus has wound marks and nail prints in his glorified body this would contradict that fact that Jesus is in a glorified state because his body would still show signs of humiliation from his killers. Jesus returns with all of the Angels which would be impossible if he were to come in a human body. Angels are far more superior than Humans that is what distinguishes us from them. And also Jehovah has never been in the flesh so according to trinitarians Jehovah and the Holy Ghost are sharing the Godhead with a "man". This is utter blasphamey for born-agains to teach blasphamous things about Jehovah and Jesus. Another embarrassing questions for born-agains regarding the bodily reserrection of Christ doctrine is if believers are all going to be reserrected with their fleshly body that they died with what about christian martyrs that died in the Roman collessum that were eaten by lions. Are they in heaven with body parts missing because lions must have totally destroyed their fleshly body? Born-agains love to quote scriptures such as 1Tim 2:5-6, Act 17:31, and other scriptures mentioning Jesus as a "man" after his heavenly reserrection. But they fail to quote the verses in Rev that call the glorified Jesus a "Lamb", a "Rock", "Husband" are we to assume that Jesus is a four legged Lamb or a hunk of "Clay or Brick" or does he now wear a "wedding ring" since the bible call him "Husband"? The truth of the matter no matter how much born-agains explain away these verses they never can give you a clear answer on 1Pet 3:18 where Jesus is put to death in the flesh and made alive in the Spirit. Born-agains attempt to deceive people into believing that this should be translated "By the Spirit". But ask any greek scholar and they agree that this is a wrong translation and should read "in the Spirit". I really feel sorry for born-agains that are so blinded that the truth just does not shine thru. My co-worker has since stopped talking to me since he could not answer most of my questions. Born-agains do not like it when you know your bible and they can't deceive you.

It does not surprise me at all when a Caucasian person makes an insulting remark against blacks or latinos. I remember years ago I was working at a company that was 99% white and only had 3 blacks working there. I thought that my co-workers were nice until their true colors came out. Everyday a bunch of the white guys would play chess at lunch time and I would watch. Well one day one of the guys asked me did I play chess and I told him that I did. I saw the smerk on his face when he asked me to play a game with him. He was very good at chess and I must admit I had a hard time beating him but I did. That was on a Friday and by Monday I was called everything but the kitchen sink by this guy to other co-workers. I saw him lose to some of the white guys and he never made a big deal about it but when I beat him he just could not get over it. Alot of white people really believe that black people are "dumb" and cannot think. I had this same problem in high school when I would get better grades in Geometry that some of my white school mates. One white girl went to the principal claiming that the Geometry teacher was showing me special treatment because he was black and I am black.
