  For those with family in the org...

  ...have they justified the un involvement to you by saying that the wts was only getting information for their magazines, that they weren't "aiding" them in their political work, so the involvement was ok?.

  imo, there is no justification for the un invovement.

  how do you reason with your family when they defend the actions of the wts?

  IMO, there is no justification for the UN invovement. How do you reason with your family when they defend the actions of the WTS? It seems to me they can justify anything. Really all they would have to do is say "no we were never an NGO" and the RF would believe them.

  It is so frustrating to show them the letter and have them say "well, you got that off the internet, one of Satan's tools what do you expect." and "Oh, Ray Frantz is like Satan, he wanted people to follow him, why do you think he wrote that book, the bible warns about people like him." and (my personal favorite) "God has always used man and the light just keeps getting brighter". as an excuse for all the mistakes (false prophesies). grrrr...   my h and i are generally good at avoiding the subject, but the other day we got into a "debate" about the "truth".

  anyway, he gave a few reasons why he believes the jws have the "truth" such as the scripture that says "it is better to not have known the truth at all than have known the truth and walked away".

  okay, at the time i was too upset to think rationally and say, "okay, which scripture would that be?

I don't want to bring it up and argue again, but to me this sounds more like a JW philosophy than an actual scripture. If it is one, does anyone know it? I am having alot of trouble finding it. Kib

  How does the WTS reconcile Matthew 10:22?

  Who do you blame for the time you wasted as a DUB?

  think of all the time and energy you wasted sitting in meetings, going door to door and refraining from making friends and having enjoyable association with non dubs.

  think about how much of your finite life is lost to you because you were a witness.

  think about how foolish you looked, hanging on to the false teachings and empty hopes for the future.

  i can live with it.. if i had to answer my own question, i'd have to say it broken down into a number of points.

  a. i like to see what the latest stuff is happening on the "apostate" side.. b. i like to watch the politics of this group.

  this week i mentioned how i never saw the movie "ghost" because it was considered "demonistic".

  i also volunteered that that i could not watch "bewitched", although "i dream of jeannie" was a conscience matter......any thing you didn't watch because you were a witness?
