Crisis Of Conscience In Audio Format?
by dubstepped ini'm just wondering if the book is available to be listened to in any format?
i know that it can be found online and read freely, and i've been through some of it, but i just wondered if it was available in any other way.
i guess it would be lacking some of the copies of articles and such that were in the original book, but it would still be interesting.

Just looked at the dropbox files and from 5-14 the files are noticeably shorter there too. -

I just noticed that track 5 on to the end seems to be about 12 minutes each and they seem to cut off. There was either a problem with the upload, or my download. My wife's download was exactly the same though, so I'm thinking the upload had issues. -

Thank you so much! I've had no issues downloading it. Had to get the Mega app first, register for a free account, verify it via email, then come here and click the link. Asked me if I had an account, clicked okay, and then when it showed all of the files I clicked the dots at the top right and chose to download the folder. -

@Godzoo, if you could upload it that would be great! I found it on YouTube once before but couldn't download it in audio format. I used to have a site that would do that for me, but it is gone now. I've tried to get it myself, but decided it was time to ask here because you guys have everything. -

Thanks for any help, even if the answer is just a simple "nope".

Is this doctrine still in in effect?
by WasOnceBlind inso something i never knew was the fact jw's were taught that jesus is only the mediator for the anointed class and not for everyone.
i only found this out after reading "crisis of conscience" and i was actually pretty shocked to learn so.
if that is the case, when they pray why even bother saying the words "in the name of jesus christ we ask"?

I'm just hearing of this for the first time. I guess I'm not sure what the implications then would be for me personally if I'm of the Great Crowd. Can anyone shed light on that? -

I disfellowshipped my parents this week..
by fulano ini just wrote them a mail, telling them to not contact me any more under any circumstances, illness or death (79 and 83 years old).
unless they leave the cult and would apologize for our f*'.ed-up upbringing which ruined our whole life.

I don't judge you at all. You have every right to your feelings. People put parents up on a magical pedestal and take crap from them that they'd never take from anyone else simply because they birthed them and now owe them something. Yeah, I know, you're supposed to respect your parents. Of course, they're supposed to hold up their end of that bargain first, and if they don't, then maybe they don't earn that respect. Plenty of parents abuse their kids and then think they're owed something after messing up their kids. None of us can judge whether what you did was harsh because none of us knows what your life was like or your relationship with them. I can identify on some level with wanting to disfellowship them first.
Oh, and by the way, don't they have to apologize for like a year or so first, before you'll speak with them again. Right their wrongs. Maybe come over for dinner and watch you eat while being ignored. That's more in line with the terminology that you used.

Even if the JW's are right and 98% of the planet's population are massacred at Armageddon, who the f*ck would want to worship a God like that? I sure as hell wouldn't.
Satan would be the one laughing, he would be the one vindicated. He would have proved that God had to kill nearly all of the human race at Armageddon. A global genocide against his own imperfect human creation. What sort of vindication is that? Satan would've proved that Jehovah and Jesus are planetary genocidal maniacs. Didn't Jesus say he came to save the world not destroy it? God may as well just have wiped out Adam and Eve at the beginning and started again, cuz after 6,000 years he proved squat since he had to wipe them all out anyway.
I may as well worship Pol Pot, Stalin or Hitler. My wife and I have had discussions about this, though in a different way. Why would Jehovah send his only begotten Son, and why would that Son come to earth to die, just so that he could wipe out everyone? That makes no sense. He wants to forgive enough to go through all of those steps and heartache, but just so that he can turn around later and kill everyone? Not that those steps are to be taken lightly and to be used as an excuse to live any way that we like, but certainly they wouldn't go through all of that just to throw away well meaning humans like common trash. I've heard brothers say before that people can be sincere, but still be sincerely wrong, and be on the outside looking in when it counts. So a loving father is going to kill his kids because they searched for him and thought they found him but were wrong. Like someone else said, Jehovah doesn't desire for any to be destroyed, and there was a point made years ago that Jehovah sees us for the person we could be if we were perfect. If those things are true, then it can't be a matter of dubbage or death, being one of JWs and survive or anything else and it's curtains for you.

It came in today's mail
by Virgochik init came today, the dreaded envelope containing my personal copy of "return to jehovah" from my elderly, desperate mother.
it included a small note asking me to read it over and to let her know what i think.
she got it at her assembly.. firstly, i'm angry that she continues to push her religion on me, given that i stopped attending meetings over thirty years ago, and very offended that she assumes that i still want to be a witness, which is her choice of religion, not mine.

I think I understand why it bothers the OP so much. She isn't seen by her mom for who she is. She has to hide who she is. Everything revolves around keeping her mom happy in this way so that they can have a relationship. If you can't be you when having a relationship, what kind of relationship is it really? One based on lies?
I hate how JW's act like the world revolves around them. They can push their beliefs on you, but you can't say anything. If your life apart from them goes well, it is just because Satan transforms himself into an angel of light and is blessing you to keep you out there in his wicked world. If it goes badly, see what happens when you turn away from Jehovah and go into Satan's world? They've got all of the bases covered and you have to play their game in order to make any relationships work. So I don't really have any advice other than to stick it out since you've played that game this long, I guess.

I always read them, though I never made a display of it because others might be freaked out. I just found them amusing.
One day we were eating at a restaurant with an older couple from the hall. It happened to be father's day, and he could have been my father, and was mistaken as such. They didn't like that. I could understand why the waiter thought such and just moved on. The restaurant hired a magician to entertain the various tables, and he came to ours. He did some basic magic trick, and they didn't like that. However, because we were such good participants, he gave us each a magic fish (can't remember what it was, but it had a fortune in it). He just casually threw one down in front of each of us. He might as well have thrown venomous snakes on the table by their reaction, which was hilarious. They both backed away from the table in extreme fear that it was going to get them in some way. My wife just picked them up and put them in her purse to get the mean, scary trinkets off the table. They were relieved, and I guess not worried that my wife now had the devil in her purse. Good times.
