  Relationships because of the WTS............thoughts on Fathers Day

  being that this is the first father's day since my 'quiting'.. i anxiously went to the local hallmark store to see about getting my dad a card at the very least.... i'm one of those people who never buy cards in advance to have handy just in case.

  no, when i have a card i want to send someone, i will always go through every card in the store in the area i am interested in and find the perfect card to show my sentiments of the person i am sending it to.. .

  my father was never a jw.. his father died when he was 13 years old and he and his brother quit school and worked the farm and got gas station jobs, so their mother could keep the farm.

  It sounds like a start, Sassy. Keep breaking the ice. I'm sorry to hear about the pressures from both sides of your family. I'm thankful I wasn't put in that kind of situation, although my own family dynamics were certainly mondo bizarro.

  I go thru some of the same stuff when trying to pick out cards for my mom for mother's day ... so many just don't seem to fit her OR me, so I usually go for something to put a smile on her face.

  he was born june 4th healthy and georgous and my dil is doing well after 15 hours of labor and a c-section.

  "New Light" Switches Faiths?

  there was a knock at the door earlier this week.

  and i was on the phone, so my daughter opened the door to find two women on our porch.

  There was a knock at the door earlier this week. And I was on the phone, so my daughter opened the door to find two women on our porch. Holy somkes ... it must be JWs!

  Nope. They were from the local Church of God. And rather than wasting a bunch of time 'sharing an inspiring thought from the Bible', they gave my daughter a package of light bulbs and a card with the church address on it. The card promptly went in the trash, but we'll use the light bulbs eventually. I hope they got a good deal on them.

  Have any of you seen this sort of technique in use?

  When is it ok to have sex?

  i always get different answers when i ask this question, or i get answers that contradict with the people givin the answer.

  i ask this to various forums online and they all end up saying, when your ready and you know the conciquences.

  however, that obviously doesn't work much or isn't the truth when so many little kids are getting pregnant and aids are everywhere and everything else.. so seriously.

  When is it totally ok to have sex?

  When you can responsibly face the possible outcomes, no matter what those might be: AIDS, pregnancy, emotional attachment, a pissed off father/boyfriend/husband, stains on your car seats ... the list goes on.
