  To JW's who believe WT is the"Truth"

  i have seen comments by jw's who support the notion that there is a group of "special men" like russell that jehovah has selected to write down the "inspired" thoughts through watchtower and awake and other publications.. .

  first of all, the bible tells us that god "cannot lie" and every "inspired utterances are true".

  that being the case, how can the truth of god originate in lies by a man, russell, who was heavily involved in the occult.?

  Boozy, you are right. But I also believe most JW's don't really believe with all of thier hearts that "this is really the truth". I think they believe it sounds like the best truth for them, and they spend thier whole lives wanting it to be so, with the hope that all of thier problems will go away without any effort on thier part. It is sad to think that the only way they can have thier problems go away is if the world goes away in a violent end. They live their entire lives waiting not to die.

  Who's To Blame For The Child Abuse Problem?

  is it the religion itself that gives these perverts the feeling that they are invincible and immune from punishment when they commit these acts?

  There are so many excellent comments here regaring Pedophiles. I noticed, however, that one extemely significant point has not been brought out about the problem of molestation among Jehovah's Witnesses. I do believe sex abuse is a problem in all religions, but JW's are especially unique in being a fertile ground for offenders to succeed and be protected. I say this from experience. I do not believe JW's should be compared to the issues in the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is headed by single men who excersize authority over the families in their diocese. When they molest the children of these families while in their care most of the time these children are young boys. Unlike the Catholic church , and other religions who have a paid minister presiding over the congregation, Jehovah's Witnesses are made up of families who not only interact intercongregationally, but marry intercongregationally. Now, many, many of these congregations are made up of these families, many who are fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, cousins neices and nephews, grandparents etc. with a large number who have come into the religion either recently or within the last 20 & 30 years. In these families there are elders who are fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, grandfathers all interrelated through marriages. There is a lot more instance of molestations of little girls by these men. I am not saying that boys have not been vicimized, but with the inferior view of women in this religion, and given the fact that these molesters are not like homosexual priests unrelated to the boys they molest, many of these "family" men taking the lead as elders, and MS's have a greater power over their victims. I am talking about an incestuous, interfamilial, situation, where you have the victim being molested by elder dad, or uncle or grandfather, who is also molesting others within the family and congregations. The secret is kept very well by these molesters and the co-dependant family members who are either in denial about uncle so and so or want to protect the "family" name, the elder position, all in the name of not bringing "reproach" on Jehovah. In many of these cases, even the Society does not find out about it until after many victims have been harmed. The victims are told not to talk about it, and the co-dependant family members go along with this believing they are protecting the peace of the congregation and remaining loyal. This is nohthing like the Catholic Church's sex abuse problem. It is far worse, and far more insideous, and dangerous, because unlike the Catholic victims whose families are behind them and going after the homosexual priests molesting alterboys, JW families are taking direction from elders, often family members and close friends, misguiding them into believing it is in their best interest before Jehovah that the child does not speak. In fact even the elder who wants to report it to the headquarters is directed to be silent. The situation among Jehovah's Witnesses is just as any cult whose cult leader demands sex from the children of it's members. It seems that this fact is never really brought out in the media and it should be. I cringe when they compare JW's sex abuse problems to the Catholic Church and other religions. No other religion is set up like Jehovah's Witnesses, and so the problem is that by comparing JW's to other religions they are minimizing the full impact of what victims issues are among Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why don't these special men get it right when they write these"inspired" thoughts from God?. Or does he keep changing his mind every time??? Why does he "inspire them to constantly re-write thier own history, and call those who question lie of their history "disloyal"? How come the issue of rape keeps changing like the wind in all of thier publications? Why is the "watchtower" symbol of the organization, rooted in the occult as many of the teachings and symbols of Russell? Why does the Watchtower Organization use Lawyers to lie in it's behalf to fight sexual abuse accusations by victims, Why does Watchtower send it's lawyers to court go file briefs as "friends of the court" when other religions of "Babylon the Great" try go protect rights for molesters?

  If anyone can add more questions to JW's for answers, please do. It boggles my mind how JW's continually blindly fight these facts and still believe this is a religion "inspired" by God. And why did Watchower writers, if they are led by Holy Spirit to write what are the true inspired expressions of God, change the meanings of words in the New World Translation? I have researched all of these questions when I and my family were faced with the WT lying to us in an effort to protect a pedophile. Initially it was the sex abuse issue that made me stop attending meetings but it was the questions and research that made me know they were never the true religion, but nothing more that false teachers claiming to be Christian. I no longer read the New World Translation and it's twisted meanings. I wish more of you JW's would "examine your religion" as brought out in the "Truth Book" that they used to use to study with worldlings. If the WT Society had to measure itself today according to the specifications on "Identifying the True Religion, as brought out in that publication, they would never succeed in shining as the "True Religion"

  Can a Dub wife have holidays if her non-Dub hubby "instructs" her to?

  wasn't there an article stating that the wife of an unbeliever couldn't get in trouble with the congregation if she participated in holidays at the instruction of her husband?

  (ie purchasing presents that he told her to) wasn't this because of headship rules?

  where does that leave the unbelieving children?

  sometimes a circumstance is so out of the ordinary, it becomes.

  difficult to articulate to others, to give them an accurate mental image and set of feelings corresponding with a dramatic past.

  When my son was in Bethel in the sweatshop he was so miserable. I remember finding a poem he wrote about it, entitled "Pain within the Walls". He did not even make a year. I was so happy he got out. Like a Viet Nam War Veteran, he will not, can not speak about it. Too ugly and painful for him.

  WT & Religous Freedom vs Religous Terrorism/ Opinions?

  i have been reading a lot of the comments on the new childrens book released at the convention.

  i must say this book turns my stomach.

  you know, for years the wts has demanded thier religious freedom in the courts and won many decisions based on thier first amendment right to worship as they choose.

  Jomavrick, You say as a whole, Witnesses are honest and don't pose a threat to society, and that may be somewhat true on some levels, however, although the Watchtower is not an active terrorist, it does try to control through messages that are threatening and terrorizing and completely dishonest. The violent pictures have terrorized children for almost a century. Although other religions have fear based teachings such as hellfire, it really is not actively preached to the extent Watchtower does. In fact most people in other religions think of themselves as going to heaven, or when they lose a member of the family, the children are told they are in heaven with God. WT condems the world and all the non Jws and thier children to a violent death that is depicted in graphic pictures along with the threat that if you do not go along with this thought you will be shunned and treated as if you are already dead. The fear of this is damaging. Fear of everything. Their belief is a threat to the fabric of normal healthy relationships, whether between husband and wife, parents and children, jw students and "worldly classmates", and educators, and thier communities.
