WOW!! Awsome, seven006. I thoroughly enjoyed your information, and gave me a lot to think about. It is so wonderful to be free of the Watchtower indoctrination, and to be able to use our critical thinking and our conscience to guide us in our life without the fear that God will kill us. To be set free by learning many truths and falshoods, and to be able to live in a way the Creator would have us live in regard to caring for our fellow man in a way that was taught by those represented in holy writings that are reflective in teaching the ways of an all loving Source of Creation. There are many truths in this Universe and who can know them all. For now it is good to know that when we finally end our journey, we can leave ourselves in the hands of the Source of our life and know that our goodness towards our fellow creatures human and animal will be how he will look upon us with satisfaction and the joy of his creating us.

what bible is true?
by kls inas most of you know my hubby is in the jw.
cult and every morning he reads his daily text.i asked why he needed that daily dont you know how to conduct yourself from day to day?he goes on to say ..it's bible passages,i said why not read the bible..he say's this text breakes it down and makes the daily reading easier ,read it see for yourself.well i did just that i read passages in it and checked what it said to a bible.
hum o'k it matches his bible but this other bible my daughter gave me from her lutherin church it's different which one do i believe?when asking my hubby he said all bibles change some words so it's easier to understand but ,the new world translation, is the closest there is to the origional.my question what bible is right, what bible can i use to compare that he would see his is wrong.one that is non denominational that suits a certain religion.

The Witnesses like to quote from the King James and they also use the Easy Reader Version Bible for the Deaf when they conduct deaf bible studies. This bible, even though it is not a Watchtower bible they keep it with all thier other literature to purchase at the KH. Interestingly, there Easy Reader Version for the Deaf traslates "glorous ones" from the NWT, as angels, as do all other bibles. Also you can remind your husband that even though the Daily Text quotes scriptures, the Watchtower Corporation interprets it their way according to thier false teachings.

get you'r thinking cap's on. I need information.
by kls inlet me start out by saying last night i watched "silence are the children" again on direc tv.this time my hubby wasn't home so i was able to watch it and express my feelings of what i was seeing.i thought i was going to vomit (realy) the hole story just hit me ,when i looked into those poor kids faces, the terror, the hurt.then i thought o my god that could have been my children , not that it would have been their father but they went to sleep over's at witnesses homes.it's been twenty years since any of my kid's have been involved in the cult but the thought just hit me and i became inraged.
well my jw husband came home and he could see i was very upset and asked what was wrong, i said i watched "silence are the children" again and it makes me sick how you'r cult protects these basterds and sends them back into their homes and society to rape again.his response was ... the elders are doing what the bible say's to do , we go by the bible, gods word besides if this is realy happening(you can't believe everything you hear) they will be disfellowshiped.itold him you gotta be kidding thats it ,he went on to say that disfellowshiping was bad.bleep bleep.those bleeps should be castrated in prison, he walked away.of course i could not let it go,i asked him what if one of those kids were our kids would you still jurt let the elmers take care of it and continue going to meetings?
if i was a violent person i would have wailed on his body..he said yes i probably would keep going to meetings.sick sick.all i can think is after 29yrs of marriage i don't know him.

Hi kls. I am sorry you have to go through this frustration with your hubby and his JW thinking. One of the things that really helped me to see that the Witnesses really were being misled was when they had quoted scriptues from the Reasoning Book justifying thier biblical teachings against "apostates" and quoting from the book of Jude in the new testament. They believe that the glorious ones spoken about in Jude are the GB and elders taking the lead in the congregations. If anyone speaks against these elders they are likened to Korah. When I researched this I found that even though the Society has put out articles in the Watchtower identifying elders as these glorious ones spoken of in Jude, the bible teaches that the glorious ones are not human but angels. So, here you can say to your husband that the elders he would listen to are acutally false teachers teaching false doctrines. They are like the false teachers spoken about in the Bible. So they are rejecting truth. I hope this helps some

Lingerie Discussion
by pettygrudger inkay - nuff of the doom, gloom, flame wars & down right negativity - lets discuss women's lingerie!.
with the day of love coming up , i have a few questions for you folks (guys & girls - could get interesting).
seriously though, ladies, do you feel comfortable buying & wearing lingerie?

Pettygrudger, I love the idea of this thread. I definitely love Victoria Secret lingerie and have so many little cuties I've worn throughout the years . My husband always considers it a gift whenever I buy something sexy and he also loves going with me to buy something he likes to see me in. Especially for our romantic getaways. I like that the "T" back or thong undies are so popular. They look great under slacks and he loves them on me.
Francois, I totally agree with you that guys love to get gifts or flowers and fruitbaskets delivered. I bet they also would love some pretty silk or satin lingerie tucked in with the fruit. Kind of like the "forbidden fruit

Who Really Rules the World???
by ARoarer inremember the tract that had a picture of a big scary looking hand with a grip around the earth and the title "who really rules the world?
" i never really read all of the words in it until last night when i was looking at my mail.
my husband laughed and said you'll never guess who wrote you a letter.

Remember the tract that had a picture of a big scary looking hand with a grip around the earth and the title "who really rules the world?" I never really read all of the words in it until last night when I was looking at my mail. My husband laughed and said you'll never guess who wrote you a letter. I looked at the letter which was written and signed "Respectfully from a Jehovah's Witness". The letter was obviously from someone who knows me and wanted to send something "encouraging in these trying times." and to make sure that the next time Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door, I should take the time to listen. She must know I am disfellowshipped. Well, after reading the words in the tract I was so annoyed to think that they can actually have the nerve to pass this around. It says how Satan is to blame for everything, and that the demons were behind all the evil in the world. I thought to myself, the demons are behind what is said by the Watchtower Corp. If anyone still has a copy of this tract I would appreciate any comments you would have. I was so angry that I want to write her back with some things to make this person see that it is the WT that is led by teachings of demons.

As a kid how did you survive the meetings?
by Parousia inrecently my brother, sister, and i talked for the first time about how we survived the meetings when we were kids.
i loved hearing their stories.. i had a whole imaginary world i went into.
once the songs were over and the talk started, i would focus on the speaker to look like i was listening and then zone out.

Zoning out, daydreaming, visual imagry, staring blankly at scriptures, all of these are in fact dissociation. The Watchtower was very effective in training listeners to be dissociative zombies. Drifting and every now and then hearing thier "buzz words" of mind control, like Armegeddon, Babylon the Great, everlasting destruction, witnesses in good standing, spiritually weak ones, false christians, worldly ones, unbelieiving mates, pagan teachings, apostates, we're Jehovah's Witnesses, those worthy of destruction, the pure language, bad association, theocratic, and blah, blah blah blah. The taught listeners to react the way they wanted them to react at the sound of those buzz words. It is no wonder so many Jehovah's Witnesses suffer from dissociative disorders, low self esteem, anxiety disorders and non critical thinking. Long tiring repetitious meetings over and over, year after year, decade after decade. Kind of like the twighlight zone being on a train hat never reaches it's destination, when all those riding on it keep waiting and waiting for their next stop that never comes. I guess the only way is to jump off the train the next time it seems to be nearing another stop that never comes. Can anyone think of any other buzz words that they heard while zoning out during the talks?

JW or Catholic scandal worse?
by JH indo you think that the pedophile problem in the watchtower organization is just as important as in the catholic church?
if we knew the statistics, and found out that there were a lot fewer pedophiles in the watchtower org.
than in other religions, would this be a victory on their part?

Definitely, the sexual abuse issues within Jehovah's Witnesses is far worse than the Catholic Church. Why? Because the offending priests, although have done great damage to their victims, they are in reality, as if "paid employees" of their church community. The sexual abuse that victims suffer within the JW community is extremely much more multi-faceted because the offenders are not only trusted leaders of thier church community but most often are family members, fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles and cousins, and if this isn't damaging enough for the victim, there are also co-dependent family members in the JW community who also, will pressure the victim into silence either because of denial, or to keep the family name from being smeared. This is especially so when, as in my own case when my daughter was molested by her grandfather, their were other family members, elders who were not only related to the offender but were related to other victims who they were encouraging to be silent. In the JW community, the whole ugly issue of incest crops up because the congregations are often ruled by family members, wanting to keep the secret and silence the victims.

Are you blind?
by eyeslice ini am sure that many of us, even when we were in the truth, were uncomfortable with the notion that we had all the answers, but others just could not see the light.. i came across this great persian story today that illustrates the folly of thinking we have the only view of what is true.
incidentally, for those who have read his works, although it sounds like a deepak chopra story, it isnt.
it is a story told by an old persian scholar who lived and worked in delhi, india.. ==============================================================================.

FreeFallin, grieving the loss of a beloved pet hurts in so many ways. Last year our Kayla died at 13. I cried and cried. It still is so painful to remember her. I think a lot of why it hurt so much was because she was the connection that we had to the days in the Organization. My good memories of her are also of good memories in the WT when I trusted that it was the "truth". One of those happy memories was that she had her litter of puppies during a bookstudy that was in our home. When the puppies were born in the weeks that followed, everyone in the bookstudy would come upstairs to see the puppies after the bookstudy. Kayla was such a good mama allowing everyone to pet them. When Kayla died all of the memories of those days came flooding back and it hurt to think she was no longer their, she was now gone and so were all those friendships that loved her so much. They were gone. It was painful to think that these people who were such a part of my life were not the friends I believed they were. Kayla's death symbolized the death of a way of life, the death of my faith, and so many other things. Losing a pet is so hard. Now I am dreading facing the death of Pongo my pug who was my daughter's pet. He grew old while she grew up. And now every day is precious with him.
