SOME GENUINE QUESTIONS FOR PMJ

i have some genuine questions for you pmj which i hope you will take the time to answer;

i was brought up as a witness and left over a decade ago; i have always struggled with these points and hope you can provide an explanation.

No. From what I can pull together it is not to prove Satan a liar. It is because Satan challenged Jehovah's right to rule.

My memory is getting quite fuzzy the longer that I am away from the Bible and religion, however I don't remember Satan ever challenging Jehovah's right to rule. Correct me please, if I am wrong, but I don't remember Satan ever doing this. The only thing I remember is:

1.) Satan said that God was a liar ("God knows that in the day you eat from it...".).

2.) Satan said that Man would not worship God if he was not protected by him (of which Job became a test case).

Again, please correct me if I am wrong, but where does Satan ever call into question Jehovah's right to rule? And, if he did so with these statements, supposedly the issues were settled at that time. Adam and Eve supposedly did start dying on the day they ate, or at least that is the explanation, and Job did prove God right by worshipping him despite severe hardship and devestating losses. SO WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD GOD NEED TO PROVE ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY THE RIGHT TO RULE, IF THE ISSUES WERE SETTLED AT THE TIME THEY WERE RAISED????!!!!! And why would God have to permit suffering of all mankind to prove a point that was already made? Hmmmmmm...

Another example of the childlike reasoning from the HoHo's (WTBS) and Christianity in general.

Bonus Question: Why does Christianity/Judaism enjoy so much violence and suffering? At every turn of the pages in the Bible there is either someone who is suffering for their faith or killing because of their faith. If there ain't killin' or sufferin', there ain't faith. As for me and my houshold, we have had enough of the violence thank you. So we checked out...

Calabasas Smoking Ban

tonight the city council of calabasas, calif. banned smoking in all public places.

this includes outside areas including parks, sidewalks, camping areas, etc.. the only areas one can now smoke is in their private residence, on their private balcony but not in a common area, or in their car (so long as they don't exhale out the window).

(there are other areas but not sure of the full ins and outs of the ordinance).

My first thought was that the law seemed awful extreme, and I am a non-smoker...but then I remembered something that happened about 2 weeks ago. I live near the ocean and I decided to check out the waves one morning. It was a gorgeous morning, very warm, and the air smelled awesome. I walked on the beach ramp and stood and was just soaking up the atmosphere, when I smelled cigarette smoke wafting in the breeze. No matter where I moved I could still smell it and I eventually just left. As I left I realized where it was coming from and it was quite a distance away, yet it still managed to permeate the air.

Also, whenever I am at the beach, every smoker I see flicks their cigarette butts on the sand!! I always stare in disbelief that anyone would think that the beach is one big ashtray, yet they do it so casually. Cigarette after cigarette. So I guess a law like that in New Smyrna Beach, FL would be welcome.

there is no real normal, but there is acceptable and unacceptable.

hurting others, that would be unacceptable.. next week i'll be going home, as in home where i grew up and learned the truth and learned what it means to judge, criticise, back stabb, lie, cheat, and cover over things when i'm too weak to face them for what they are.

Wander if you know His people history they have ALWAYS been in need of fixing. They were always on a rollercoaster ride. Good for awhile.................Wicked for awhile.

And when they were wicked he made it clear that he had removed his Holy Spirit. Sometimes he showed it by allowing them to be held captive in slavery, or wander the wilderness, and sometimes he allowed them to be killed. In the end he just removed his holy spirit completely and rejected them as His Organization. So which is it for the JW's, Defd? I guess from your statements on this forum you would deem the WTBTS "wicked" and in need of fixing?? We can agree on something..."His" Organization is indeed wicked, no doubt about it, and yet you still remain. Sad.

Can the Jehovah's Witnesses society be sued

my sister who is the ex wife of the fellow i posted about,( re: commiting suicide) was a jw for 17 years being df'd 4 years ago.

i have told her about this site and read to her the replies to the posts i have made and she has had a browse around but will not join yet as she does not have access to the internet, although she really loves the site.

she and i were talking this morning and thru me she would like to ask; does anyone here think it would get her anywhere if she were to sue the watchtower society for years of guilt and mental stress she and her late ex husband have suffered?

The other issue is that in many states (Massachusetts being one) there is a statute that applies to all non-profit organizations that limits their liability to 20K. This is true whether they have been found to be grossly negligent or not. This applies to injuries incurred while at Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, etc., or to tragedies such as rapes that occur at college campuses and other non-profit organizations. There is not an attorney alive that will take the case on a contingency basis, and the cost to pay the hourly fee to fight the case would far outweigh the return.

i have only been here a couple of weeks, and while i find most of you to be kindhearted, understanding and supportive, i can't help but get the feeling that there are some of us who are not who they say they are.

i'm not trying to be presumptuous, but do you think some people pretend to be x-witnesses just to mess with us?

I would think it would be automatic. What better way to combat apostates than to pose as one, gain trust, and have a person reveal enough detail to make their identity known? I am sure the Society would refer to it as spiritual warfare.

Still on the fence!

hey everyone i know its been a while since i posted but today i felt the need.just wanted to update you all on my position which is still brainwashed!i just dont know what to do i gain my strength to conquer this disease,(thats what i call being born in the org) from others like freedom lover who have come out of this religon free and clear i know its not easy but i know it can be done.i dont know why i just cant get over it and move on already,but theres thats piece of me that says,but what if?then im back, screwed and tatooed with jdub on my forehead,thinking that jehovah is upset and dissapointed with me and satan has me in his grasp.im stil sooo confused even with all the evidence pointing to they are full of crap!what if they arent?i just want to know the truth even if i dont choose to follow it,i want to know if jehovah is watching me torment myself every day,going back and forth and i cant take it anymore.then i think what if there is no jehovah?who the hell am i praying to with my daughter at night?

(the air mabe)you see my daughter still believes even though she is ready to celebrate halloween this year and yes we bought her a costume,cinderella!my mother comes and takes her every now and then only if i promise to go to some meetings and i did last weekend i attended the sunday meeting for once in a about 6 months!felt strange to be there but once again going to a different cong i got love bombed.btw i feel guilty and scared about having anything to do with halloween this year.yup still dealing with the guilt,fear,agony,of knowing and believing in the dubs,for so long now trying desperately to get out without feeling the way i do.i just dont know what to do anymore and its a shame because the dubs have sucked the life out of me(guess i didnt check my doubts soon enough).if i dont get off the fence soon im going to go nuts.i like believeing that satan doesnt even exist and that there is no heavenly org.gives me peace of mind that i can just live my life,if theres a god,fine,is it jehovah?thats where the conflict arises and i cant just go on with my life thinking jehovah has lost me to the other side!

!im not a lost cause yet guys.i need new light!

The Watchtower: May 1, 2004 Page 11 and Par 15, ... Jehovah does not communicate directly with anyone today.
The Watchtower: August 1, 2002 Page 14 and Par 22, ... Although no organization directed by humans can be perfect.

Sis Jehovah KNOWS your pain. He feels for you, believe me. Jehovah is more patient and understanding than we know. Just CONTINUE to take your concerns to Him. It is written....Throw all your burdens and anxiety upon Jehovah and he will sustain you, because He CARES for you.

And that results in....nothing. The walls echoed a long time before I finally got it. I sobbed in prayer many a night before I decided to stop being a victim.

Defd, I don't know how long you have been a JW, but I find your words to be simplistic in nature when there are very complex emotional/abusive issues at hand. I guess I would not expect you to answer differently knowing you are still active. What if you throw your anxiety and burdens on Jehovah and he sustains you by motivating you to leave the JWs? Your answer as a JW would most likely be: "You didn't trust Jehovah because you left his spirit directed organization." Once again showing that whenever an honest hearted person does something to change the agony in their lives there will be a JW readily available to heap on more feelings of failure. After all, if you don't stay with the WTBTS it can't be their utter failure as "Jehovah's Organization", can it? It can only mean that you are a failure, right? Well, I had enough of those feelings and decided to change them. I hope that acuragirl is able to address her broken heart in a way that works for her, whatever that way is.
