Hi there, and WELCOME!!! I am another Gay person that has benefitted from this site. You obviously have big challenges ahead of you, and it will not be easy, but please do not let the guilt get to you. (Yes, easier said than done, but a LOT of us have been there!) Things will eventually get better. In regards to the parents, I can't say what will happen, as they are all different. Unfortunately, my situation did not work out very well, but other people who have come out, still have parents that love them no matter what. They may not agree with what they do, but realize that it is still their child. Unless you are willing, and are able to deny your feelings regarding being gay, and live a life with no sex-this includes masturbation, please do NOT get baptized. It will only compound the problems several-fold! Step back and look at the big picture, and decide what you want to do. It is your life, and your decision. Search your heart, and you will find answers. Another thing that I wish I would have done earlier, as it would have helped me sort things out would have been to see a professional at an earlier age. Unfortunately, you are going to have a lot of stress, and maybe it would be good to get help with your emotions. There are a lot of us on anti-depressants, and believe me, they do help. My friends notice big differences in me, as compared to not taking them. Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, or one of the other NON-ADDICTIVE anti-depressants can work wonders, and help a person see more clearly, thereby enabling them to Rationally face very difficult times, and challenges. Please remember there are people here that understand, and do really care, as many of us are, and have been in the "Same Boat". One final note, Sexual identification does not make one Bad, or Evil. As long as you do good to others, that is what matters!! Glad to have you here!!!

Scooter, Definately check out the auction!!! You can get some great deals. Minnesota-well, anywhere in the midwest is THE place to find really great things. There will be a lot of dealers, but there will also be a lot of "Sleepers" which people do not know about, even the dealers. If you have a feeling about something you see, by all means try to get it, But stick with your guns about having a maximum bid amount to what you are willing to pay, and stick with it. It is very easy to get caught in the Frenzy of the auction, and as long as you keep your wits about you, you will have lots of fun, and maybe end up with a priceless heirloom. Have fun!!! P.S. Wish I was there!!!
Chevys...building your own Hepplewhite chair! Wow, that is an accomplishment! Quite a difference from the Chippendale period. I love the joining techniques that they used back then. Things were mortise and tenoned, and pegged, built to last!!! They don't make 'em like they used to! I too was a designer at an interior design studio in Ft. Lauderdale for 6 years, until moving here to Ohio, now have my own Antiques business. I enjoy antiques more, yet they tie in very nicely in the aspect of interior design. Did you also take a furniture History class??? Would love to see a pic of the chair you made!!!

BREAKING NEWS FROM GOVERNING BODY
by wannaexit inrecently the local congregation had the visit of the c.o.
the local needs talk he usually gives was replaced by a talk he said will be given to many congregations around the world.. this talk is targeting th very young.
kids are being strongly encouraged not to put off baptism and that children as young as 10 can make an informed decision to get baptized.

I think that the WBTS is "Running Scared" that there is a decline in membership, and are trying to get as many people baptized as they can to keep those numbers up.....Quantity over Quality... hmmmmm.....Sick Bastaaaaaads. I guess they also feel that since 10 is a ripe old age to be pedophied by the other adult members of the Cong. , why should they not not be baptized????

I am an avid antiques collector. Up till recently, I was collecting authentic 1700's period furniture and accessories, ie; Queen Anne, Chippendale, Hepplewhite. In the past year though, I have been in a primitive mode, which encompasses early painted furniture, shaker boxes, early baskets, 1800's twig and horn furniture, 1800's oil portraits, and of course cowboy collectibles, spurs, chaps, hats, boots, bridles, etc. I also enjoy old Native American pottery and baskets. I specialize in finding very unusual items, things that you never see in antique shops. Many times these turn out to be very rare, and am able to generate a really great profit, which allows me to buy even more. It is a big addiction with me, and have been collecting antiques since I was 12.
It was really funny growing up, as everything I got, my mother was scared to death that it was "Demonized", and generally could not keep things in the house, unless it was something she felt was "Safe"-it wasn't funny at the time, but look back and laugh now!
