Are you internet dependent?
by greendawn inare you dependent on the internet?
how bad would you be or feel if you suddenly lost your internet connection?
i use it for work, to talk with people through skype, download music and films, e-mail, forums, and instant messengers, and finding info of all sorts.

can't imagine life without it. It's work, social life, entertainment, and education.
Same as others have said I can do without for holidays and I have a life without internet, but now that I can talk to friends via messenger with voice, without that my phone bills were really high. So yes, yes I am dependent.

TomKat: my gut feelings are getting stronger
by Lady Lee inok i don't bother much about celebrities and all this craziness about couples getting together and breaking up is more than likely media blown out of proportion but..... tom cruise and katie holmes .... something here really doesn't feel right to me.. we have older man vs young woman.
clearly a man who has no problem making a spectacle of himself - jumping on the furniture on international tv - she seemed rather shy and subdued.
a man who has no problem voicing his religious beliefs as if he and he alone has the ultimate truth of matters - she not so experienced so follows his beliefs (according to the media).

LL said: More than once I have been accused of seeing abuse behind every door
LL, Nature of the job, your probably aware enough to pick up the suttle or even blaring signs other people miss concerning abuse.
I have been 'harping' about this to my kids who are Cruise fans now they are listening to the rumors and reports and are telling me they agree he is acting way too stupid. Be real interesting to hear why her folks dislike him so much.
And I have alway maintained that Ms.Kidman probably could shed a lot of light on what a freak he is, but sometimes just getting out of controlling situation does not mean there is no longer an element of 'control'.
I hope Katy did leave with the baby.

The Bribe of Heaven and The Threat of Hell.
by Blueblades inwhich is it that cause you to believe that either teaching from the bible is truly the truth.
is the desire to want to go to heaven the reason you believe what you believe, or is it the fear and threat of hell that makes you walk the line so to speak.. i don't believe that god needs to or has ever bribed or threathened anyone with 'do this or else.
' i believe what is written about god in the bible are the words of men.

Spiceant welcome to the board I noticed you said:
I dont care so very much about the concepts of Hell and Heaven, altough they are good inspiration for storys and fiction
I have disinterested myself of the actual places of heaven or hell, But a lot of people spend their entire lifetime hoping they will get to heaven and will lead double lives if need be to get there.and that fools who? and even more spend their lives wondering or thinking that they have loved ones being tortured forever in a fiery place of torment. ex: My ex-Mom-n-law believes one of her sons is being tortured in hell because over 15 years ago he committed suicide.
But as others in this thread have said if there is something else or if there a place of peace then I for one wonder where it is to be found, if it's amongst us how is it obtained? if it's following death do we have any clues? LT I would never question your belief or faith

The DaVinci Code -- overreaction or a chance to rumble?
by cruzanheart inhere's an excerpt from a bbc.co.uk article i just read:.
"the holy koran recognises jesus as a prophet.
what the book says is an insult to both christians and muslims," maulana mansoor ali khan, general secretary of the all-india sunni jamiyat-ul-ulema, told the reuters news agency.

Right Little Toe my son and I discussed the actions of that guy and others during the movie and we had to laugh they waited till the movie was nearly over to walk out or say anything. M. and I decided they need an out in case someone seen them at the movie or to justify going, by saying oh yeah I was there but this is what I said or this is what I did, Friday night opening night in Ft.Smith for the movie had some people planning demonstrations. I remembered this thread while we were waiting on the movie to begin there was a muslim lady (I'm going by the way she was dressed head covering etc.) that went to watch the movie also.
After watching the movie and in my opinion it is just a movie. I had to wonder at the extremes some will take to show their desire to want to "rumble" I think it must not take much to set some people off if this movie causes it.

Quote from Blueblades
I do not fear that I will go to hell because of this, nor do I think that I will go to heaven if I change my mind. Whatever awaits me after death will come no matter what I believe.
Before my jw years, (I was brought in through the preaching work) I was somewhere between being a baptist when I was with my mom and church of christ when with my grandparents, raised in mormon country with catholics and jws for friends, so I have been exposed to a lot of beliefs.I was real angry about there being no perfectly new sytem to look forward to at first but now. I am thinking we probably do not know all there is to know from the bible's we have today, we don't even know how complete the works we have now are, If heaven or hell exists no one can prove it to me from this point in life/time so as the quote says. No matter what I believe or the religious persons believe. it still don't mean jack crap till we die and find out or never know what happens.
* just a note, the main idea I am no longer confused I just refuse to let fear guide my life.

Eyebrow 2 I agree Opie is a great director. Seen the movie tonight and it is a great movie. I think some people were upset and walked out and one man yelled out blasphemy near the end. I told my son they had to do that so they could say yes I watched it but this is what I did, or what I said. Now I need to read the book.

It seems anything that has to do with religion brings out the worst in people, And I'm sure it brings out the best too. But when it comes to movies any time there is a chance for somebody with as cause to get in the limelight and protest they will use it.
